  2. I am not chased or woo-ed by anything. I've lived in the London area for 45 years, and I still support my home town club. And I hope that I can continue to do so for many years to come. But faced with the choice of progress, as happened 30 years ago, or survival/oblivion, as could happen soon, which would you choose?

Have we stopped paying Hughes and Foran yet?!
  4. Today
  5. The reality is that (I imagine) we currently cannot pay Ferguson off. Unless he agrees to go he is staying and we have to build next season and like it or not. I think we go for it next season to win league one and if he isn’t producing after 6-8 games he will walk. Gardner on the other hand… who knows how, what and how long he is being paid for…
  6. Ach, this day was on the cards for some 18-24 months. The years were catching up on me but I still took pleasure in going to watch ICT! The enjoyment was getting less and less as the off field antics dominated the agenda and direction the club was going. Didn’t mind loosing as long as the team tried and represented the city and area. I didn’t get a season ticket this season as the football over the past few seasons was brain numbing at times. I also didn’t trust or believe any more what was coming from the Chairman or the CEO. A consequence of the above was I picked only the games I wished to attend. I somewhat expected us to loose to Hamilton and personally accepted being relegated hoping a watershed would be reached and we could look to maybe a simpler (straight and engaging) relationship with the fans and club going forward. The statement issued by the club simply looks like more of the same smoke and mirrors and leads me to reluctantly question their true motives and direction for the club. So by best wishes to the Supporters Trust and all ICT fans going forward.
  7. Perhaps this is a cost we can cut and just elevate either Esson or Kellacher to #2.
  8. I can understand why so many are saying they are not going to be putting any more money into the club at this stage. It is though, important for people to spend a modest fiver to join the Supporters Trust if they haven't already done so. Whatever the outcome of the current crisis, it is crystal clear that the fans need a voice in the running of the club. That voice needs to be loud and representative. To be loud and representative, we need as many fans as possible to join the Trust to vote for those who put themselves forward for the Trust Board. The more fans the Trust represents, the harder it will be to ignore us. The money men on the Board have no right to control what happens at our club. The purchase of a season ticket, club merchandise, car parking, a half time draw ticket, food and drink all add up. Long standing fans will themselves also have put in thousands to the club over the years. Many fans will have spent a similar proportion of their disposable income on the club as the Board's money men have. In some cases, maybe more! We have a right to demand change and to have our say in the running of our club.
  9. Maybe Dunc has arranged with Don Carlo we will become a feeder franchise for Los Blancos
  10. Partick were also on our pitch last day as well back in the early 2000s .. our fans were applauding them mind you we hadn 't just been relegated
  11. Ok, bud, you just enjoy yourself being a Main Stand happy clapper. Make sure to not get too many Werthers Originals stuck in your false teeth before you start having a fit over the slightest form of noise at the games...
  12. Yesterday
  13. Well done again Old Gringers on another great Championship win and thank you for all your hard work on the spreadsheets throughout the season. Good shout from Joonya remembering the great days last time we were in the 3rd tier. We were on our great magical climb through the leagues back then. Somehow I don’t think it’ll be so much fun this time around, but the NPL will be - as good now as it’s ever been - cheers
  14. At least Dunc is putting his pay off money to a good cause.
  15. Well, I stayed away from this forum for many years and my former starchief name is no more. I've looked regularly and despaired. I guess it's time to jump back in the cauldron. I thought Dunc was the wrong choice in the very beginning (have you seen his Forest Green record?) but was willing to give him a chance. He seemed to think we were deservedly bottom of the Championship when, in fact, we were in a cup final the previous season, which probably put paid to having the legs for promotion. Dodds was sacked for being out of promotion, not due to relegation fears! Fergie comes in and thinks it's backs to the wall. Plays six defenders in most matches, although Kerr in midfield. He was joined there by Billy, who still was our top scorer despite not playing as a striker! For those who think he's finished, Lineker played poorly under Cruyff when he was a winger. Shankland was awful when a left-back at Beerschott. Play Billy as a striker and we get a striker that can score. I look at the defenders brought in. How many are better than Devine? None I would say. Savage and Carragher are about the same but not better. Well, what's the point? Kerr looked excellent. Shame we got rid of two of our best midfielders though, then we wouldn't have to play him in midfield. I thought Rory looked better in the last half of the play-off when he replaced Billy. But then , that's his position! Imagine if he had played enough games to be match fit? Samuels was easily a better winger-cum-striker than Longstaff, yet was only played when we needed a goal desperately. Well, we need goals and creativity long before that. Get him on. All-in-all, a terrible appointment. I don't know who was worse, Fergie or Foran. I do like the idea of Esson or Stewart given the players we will be looking to. Just go for someone with a clue. A decent League One or Two manager shooting slightly above what his team should be doing. Underwhelming but knowledgeable at this level.
  16. I see Jake Davidson won promotion with Hamilton Accies and was relegated with ICT.
  17. Last week
  18. I was thinking the opposite. Caledonian Thistle for me.
  19. Well, we have some in common with Man City! I was looking into this question and found that they were relegated with positive goal difference in 1937/38, the season after they had won the league. In terms of the modern era, we might have a pretty unique claim. Found a Guardian article from a few years back that investigated if it had happened in the modern era and, apart from when there were points deductions, the only example they found was in the Greek 3rd division in the late 1990s, but it looks like there was some league restructuring happening because 5 teams in a 12 team league got relegated. ICT - still making history.
  20. originally they were called "Stogg" but then reverted to "Satisfaction" in about 1973/4. They played mostly Free / Rolling Stones material (I don't recall Hawkwind or Argent covers but I could be wrong!). George Junor is still in Inverness but I don't think he's gigging currently.
  21. What happened yesterday was the result of a lethal concoction we've been taking all season. A combination of multiple factors. The board. Not just Gardiner who seemed to be the focal point for the anger. As if he was responsible for it all. He obviously bears responsibility. As does the rest of the board. Up to and including the chairman. The buck stops with him. The fans. We've always been under supported despite punching above our weight. The day trippers that only turn up for the big games. Where would we be if they all turned up every week I wonder? The "City". I don't class this place as a city. It's a town. For multiple reasons. This town doesn't deserve a Scottish cup winning, European side such as ours that brought prestige by carrying the name of this town and many thousands of travelling fans up here spending their money every weekend. The people. It's quite clear to me now that Inverness is the 3rd most supported team in Inverness which is a depressing statement to have to say. Not only do the people that live here stay away from our club. Many actively detest it. Old firm glory hunters born and raised in this town who would like nothing more than to see us fold and Highland football die off. Leaving everyone having to drive 3 hours down the A9 to watch any kind of football. That's if they survive the journey because of the central belt masters they worship refusing to dual the road. The council. What can you do? a 2% loss of green space on an unused golf course that would have netted us £3.5M. Approved. But the two councillors didn't like the way the vote went so did their best to make sure it didn't go through. Very few of them there actually care about the club obviously. But if your own council doesn't give a toss about you. What hope do we have. But we get what we deserve. This same council is the one that turns academy street into a karting track. Turns the ironworks into an empty lot. Builds a bridge to nowhere. And people still vote them in. It's a vicious circle. But we get the politicians we deserve. Luck. I'll end it with this. I've felt the writing was on the wall for a while now. Maybe we just spilt too many salt shakers. Broke too many mirrors. But you see this happen to many other "big clubs" in the championship. Dunfermline, St Mirren, Falkirk and Hamilton to name a few. If you stagnate for too long in the championship. You will face the drop. Yet again we've had a record breaking points total for being relegated. It doesn't feel like we could have done anything to avoid it. It genuinely felt like this was written for us. I've not really talked about the on field matters much. A lot has been said already which I agree with. To be honest I don't know if any manager would have saved us. We were 3 points off 5th. 1 point of safety, If Billy Mckay's penalty went in against Dunfermline? But it didn't. If luck was on our side maybe it would have.
  22. For what it's worth! The club didn't have a player of the year so you still have a final chance to vote on this one. Who will it be it's up to you. I will let it run till midweek before doing the totals for the year.
  23. HT 1-0 FT 2-0 ICT HARPER HA OHARA CROWD 2967 YELLOW LONGSTAFF
  24. There was no real desire from the team in first half ,it looked as though they couldn’t care less if we lost or won Hamilton on the other hand were going hell for leather to try and grab the game by the scruff of the neck and succeed in doing so we only started to threaten Hamilton when the subs were brought on if the same attitude exsisting Saturday we will definitely be relegated and how Ferguson thinks one goal will suffice is beyond me
  25. Yes the Crysler V8 a beautiful sound but a bit thirsty
  26. I'll need to make the headings clearer...
