Thats a disappointment, after last season i hoped they would increase, maybe we will see a late flurry of sales over the next week or so.

Economic downturn in the United Kingdom.

 

Oh well, chums, Mark Carney, former Governor of the Canadian banking system is now in London and at the helm of your financial future so it sure looks a bit brighter on your economic horizon. This guy  was something of a wizard in Canada and  provided stability and a very astute and financially-informed mind.

Its my fault. I've decided to forego season tickets for sponsorship.

Are we sure this is even correct?

Not surprising really. I have sponsored players for the last six seasons but this season it is time to cut back a little for a number of reasons.

Many people will also have to make similar decisions and I suspect more will be pay at the gate or make advance ticket purchases for specific games as that seems to make the most sense for many in the current climate.

Now having said that If the football on show is free flowing and high scoring then good attendances will result.

Would be interested to see the stats for total attendance, average attendance and total full season tickets over the last 10 seasons to see how they compare.

we were up by 10 people in an average attendance but if you think about it we had 3/4 highland derby's so that probably made it go up 

I know I sound like a broken record but IMO the club needs to do a hard sell on season tickets.

 

If fans or otherwise are not simply turning up to buy them we should be going out and finding numbers required.

 

Does the club set a target for season tickets? if not why not and they should have!

Maybe another factor was the on going issue with league reconstruction..

Maybe many of those who, in the past, bought ST's knowing they couldn't get to every game have decided to pay per game. Season ticket sales are good because they provide the club with cash up front but they are not the be all and end all provided attendance levels stay the same or increase.

BBC reporting today that an anonymous survey of the 12 SPL clubs reveals that 7 of them say season ticket sales are up on last year, 3 on a par, and only 2 are down.

Do you not think the likely clubs to have dropped are County and Killie? I doubt county will have increased their sales in their second SPL year and I think the Killie fans are staging some sort of boycott.

Yes, but the survey was about what the clubs are saying and not what the actual position is.

The OP states that we are 1 of the 2 clubs to have dropped , I reckon it will be killie and us .

You cant believe anything they say about season ticket sales and match attendance it is all spin! Just like we get from Westminster.

Same old, same old. Even after last year we havent seen a burst in ticket sales, perhaps its due to the economy, but considering the crowds when the weather was 'good' and we were playing for that Euro place we still couldnt draw more fans. Its a case of either the locals dont care, cant be bothered or would perfer to be armchair fans supporting the OF or some english club than coming out to see ICT. Can only hope that if we make a good start this season a few more fair-weather fans might turn up to games on the day.

Really disappointing if we are around the same levels as last year given last season. I do think, as another poster has already mentioned, that we could do more to market the club and it's products but too late now. Fro various poster as well, it seems that some have not purchases seasonn tickets but will apy at the gates for games that can/want to attend. I guess therefore that it may take many games into the season to see what the impact is on attendances but as Alex has said, they are not the be all and end all and, in my opinion, probably damaged the financial structure of clubs as years ago, season tickets were a relatively small percentage of ticket sales. If more people are going to turn up for games on the day however, the club has to work at making the matchday experience as pleasureable as possible.

To be fair to the club I think that they have done more this close season than in recent years to get folk along. I'd be interested to know how many posters on this site have a season ticket. Not to find a stick to beat them with but it might give an indication (from a representative sample) of what percentage ICT fans do have season tickets.
