  1. But I thought they got put out 3-2 aet in the semi finals?
  2. 4 points
Rubbish. They are not being consigned to the dustbin. Despite finishing rock bottom of the SPFL they have the lifeline of a play off. If after that, they are unable to beat the most successful non league team of the season it's only fair that that team takes their place. The Scottish League was for over a century a closed shop and it's not as if Montrose will then be locked out as aspiring Highland clubs were for over a hundred years. They have the opportunity to return the very next season but only if they prove themselves good enough. I believe the term is sporting merit.
  3. Very excited. Flying in from oz especially for the final!
  4. If it was a grand. I would get a job as a steward and shout at everyone to stand up.
  5. £25 for a cup final ticket at the national stadium in my opinion is reasonable. Concessions also being a fiver is a bonus too.
  6. By the time Brewster left pretty well everybody preferred Butcher to Brewster....

Guy can't stand up for falling down.
  8. I think the Clubs & SFA have got it pretty much spot on in terms of balancing income with affordability....and delighted they chose to do that in a manner which makes it more attractive to families and the younger generations. The only thing I would have done different is to charge the moany old feckers double
  9. Looks like we've got the Celtic end. How does it look like that? Cos it says so on the official website?
  10. Prices don't seem too bad at all to me. That said if it was £1,000 i'd still be going

The facility now for relegation from League Two is something for which Scottish football has waited far too long. If you are not good enough in whatever way, then you need to go. Remember also that it was the former closed shop status of the bottom division that kept Highland sides out of Scottish League football for decades. The one irony is that now the closed shop has been abolished, the procedure for replacing the relegated team involves a degree of compulsion on clubs which may not want the onus and expense of nationwide travel. A case of the stable door being closed long after the horse has bolted and demand for Scottish League football up here has largely been satisfied. I have a lot of sympathy for Brora in this respect in that the people who run the club understandably don't seem to want League Two football. However they are now in the play offs so must either make the upward jump or face Trial By Tam Cowan and (as they were on Saturday's Off The Ball) be accused of throwing the games if they don't beat Edinburgh City. No one should be exempt from the consequences of failure. Laurence's proposition regarding Montrose is really no different from those who said that Rangers and Hearts should have been allowed to continue in the SPL irrespective of their financial mismanagement.
  12. While it would have been good if tickets were cheaper, don't think we can complain too much about the prices especially the concessions. If you go to a concert, you will pay much more than this on average and for people who may only attend this game this season, prices are reasonable.
  13. great news very reasonable pricing set up bring on the family cup final

    Thanks. Date's in the diary!
  15. I can't agree. This is the national cup final. It's a once in twenty years occasion for us and a pretty rare occasion for our opponents. The 'cheap seats' are no more expensive than we charge for a walk up to the Main Stand for a routine league match with concessions a good deal cheaper. The clubs each need to be fair to their fans, which I believe they have, but need to balance that by trying to maximise their income from the cup success with a view to being solvent and perhaps enhancing the playing budget just a little over the next couple of seasons.

Being born and brought up as a Jambo I have great admiration for both Jamie Walker and Sam Nicholson. I was also at school with Sam's dad. Ryan is a great talent and thoroughly deserves the nomination. However I cant help feeling that the West Central Belt bias will see Denayer win it. I hope I'm wrong though. Question i have is, should loan players even be allowed to be nominated since they are coming from a higher level of club. ''Question i have is, should loan players even be allowed to be nominated since they are coming from a higher level of club.'' Surely that's a question for the Compliance Officer - he dabbles in many things.
  17. Glasgow city centre Close enough to even walk to the game.
  18. IMPORTANT Booking is open for St Johnstone and Dundee away. To book can you please TEXT the booking line with names of your party and leave a contact number. We will confirm your booking but please bear with us if it's not straight away. Please DO NOT use this number for Cup Final queries. Details will be released later in week. Priority will be given to those who travelled with us to the semi-final. Tnx for your patience.
  19. Well done to 'The Cherries'
  20. And of course the red and black link
  21. I was pleasantly surprised with the prices. Especially kids tickets. £5 for a Scottish cup final. Fantastic.
  22. Danny Williams against Killie at TCS.
  23. Yes, reasonable. £60 for family of 4 is good value for a cup final Imo.
  24. It's a national cup final so I doubt we could have expected any cheaper tbh. Last year the expensive seats were £35 and concessions more expensive.
  25. Billy McKay collecting the ball in our half. Sprinting up the park and scoring against Killy. We have had a few good team goals where the build up was better than the goal. Best goal for me though would be he scores when he wants Dave the Rave at Hampden.
  26. Tansey's V Patrick in the cup was good from an individual perspective. In saying that, I think i remember it being better at the time than it looked on the highlights.
  27. Singapore. Usual tin bath on wheels.

I am going to have a brief lie down having just 'liked' a post by CB.
  29. Would rather a 12 pm kickoff though.
  30. Reasonable prices ad far as I'm concerned. Cup finals don't happen often and a nice percentage of the gate is going back to ICT.
  31. I disagree with this. For a category A game at ICT, you are paying the same price for equivalent seats alongside the pitch in the main stand. And only 4 quid more than category B games. While the concession prices for the final are less than half the price for what you would pay for being alongside the pitch in Inverness. For a game at ICT I am not trying to convince a number of adults to come along for a day out who would not normally go to any football.

    When's the final?
  33. You can add to that Scott Brown not getting a straight red card for a shocking ankle breaker of a tackle on John Rankin today
  34. But of course the best scenario is finishing 3rd as it gives the club more money and winning the cup allows the two week extra break to prepare
  35. As for "Meekingsgate 2", is there any official confirmation yet that he was indeed eligible to play yesterday, and that for the 2nd time in less than a week the SFA wrongly tried to ban him?
  36. France. My first Inverness match in 'real'. I think I will be the only French in Hampden.
  37. This time last week Josh was an ICT player known mainly by his fans . This week there are not many in the football world who hasn't heard of Josh Meekings .Our Josh has made history .Go on now Josh and make history for ICT on the pitch .We are all very very proud of you.
  38. Some incredible paranoia on show here which rivals that of some Celtic fans.
  39. Is it just me but I would prefer it to be the faithful / loyal. With little allowance for letting people sit together you often can end up surrounded by people that you have never seen before and may never do again. This was even irritating at the semi final with the decision to leave a gap between two elements of our support.
  40. Can't believe it's 5 years tbh. Probably still my fav tbh. The Ship inn pre match, terracing, congas, 7 goals by 7 different players and the sermon from the stand. Perfect!!!!!
  41. So the incident was outwith the jurisdiction of the CO. Seems a pretty elementary thing to check before going down this route. Looks like the SFA hoped we'd just suck it up and take their attempt to appease Celtic. Makes the position of the Current CO untenable in my opinion, as he clearly doesn't understand the scope of his powers or the protocols to which he needs to adhere.

In an interview with STV Ryan saying he wants to stay at Inverness and learn his trade despite interest from down south. Old head on young shoulders and very refreshing to hear.
  43. What a clown Lunny is. By his logic we should now refer Zaluska for violent conduct on Ofere, unless you consider a punch that Mayweather would be proud of not to be violent conduct. ICT and the Board have shown the football world how to rise above all this crap, while Celtic has done their reputation no favours at all. Grow up - and move on!

Haven't seen much of the Hearts pair, but given that he is playing for one of the best teams in a higher league, surely Ryan must have an outstanding chance of getting this. Don't really get the fuss about Denayer, and I know that a lot of my Celtic-supporting work colleagues feel the same. Marley Watkins has handed him his @rse on a plate when we've played Celtic this season.

Bump! In other news. Well done Ryan on been named on shortlist for SPFL Young Player of the Year. The full list is: -Ryan Christie (ICT) -Jason Denayer (Celtic) -Jamie Walker (Hearts) -Sam Nicholson (Hearts) No reason he can't win this.
