  1. It would be remiss of me (taking the liberty of all other posters) to not thank you tm4tj for your immense input over this (and previous) seasons for your diligent, humorous and informative pre and post match reports. The most important contribution to the forum IMO. Well done, and looking forward to your reports next season from the CHAMPIONSHIP league. bc
  2. First time we’ve won this league I think. We’ve now won 3 of the 4 leagues, so just one more needed to complete the set.
  3. What a day. I was surprisingly relaxed in the build up as County failing to sneak into the play off place removed the risk that we could face them in the play off final, clearing the way for us to avoid that distraction and focus on getting the result. Bar 94 was amazing pre-match. It was bouncing from the time it opened and credit to the fans going through their repertoire of songs. To the game itself, and we came out clearly on a mission. The early goal calmed any remaining nerves, and was clearly a training ground move. The second was as good after great work by Robertson and, as someone has said, how fitting that Mckay and Devine were our scorers. I hope Devine’s injury is not serious. That first half was probably the best we have played in 2026. Hamilton had more of the ball in the second half but didn’t trouble us until their late goal. The late penalty could have made for an anxious ending, but was well saved by Munro. We then had the delay due to the premature pitch invasion, then a few minutes play before the full time whistle confirmed we were Champions. Well done to all the management team and players: the have achieved what was asked of them. The crowd was amazing and I just hope many of the 2000+ extra fans come back when the new season starts. Then the party really started with the presentation and then the raucous bar. What a difference from May 2024! What a day: one for the memory bank! Roll on next season.
  4. In the end it was a fantastic achievement. I saw some of our grateful supporters thank Alan Savage post presentation. Without him and the culture he has generated in the rebuild this would not have happened. To Scott and Billy, to all the coaches, to Charlie, to the players, stadium staff and especially the away supporters, this recovery from severe adversity is much to be cherished. In terms of being magnanimous I have to say Stenhousemuir have been tremendous competitors this season. I wish them well in the playoffs. I also have sympathy and admiration with the way Hamilton's players and staff have coped with the mismanagement of their club. We once had that experience too. To those over the Bridge who only expected one year in the Championship, I am not the Brahan Seer, but well done for such foresight. ICT FC now rule the Highlands again.
  5. I suspect I am writing this when a few of you are nursing alcohol induced sore heads! What an incredible season, and how fitting that the last match of the season, mirrored the season has a whole, what looked from afar via my phone was Caley in control, then towards the end a last minute (perhaps 20minutes) period of jeopardy and uncertainty. A goal back from Accies (do we need to try and secure Oli Shaw's services?) and the unbelievable drama of a late penalty kick to them, an equaliser for them would still have kept promotion in sight, but would have seen a last minute nerve-shredding panic ridden finale. But Munro saved it! So a wonderful end to the season albeit with some unfortunate joshing on the pitch between supporters A 5000 strong crowd, imagine if we get to see that a few more times next season, shows that actually Inverness's population can be mobilised (or bothered?) occasionally, although I suspect a fair few from farther away helped. Fitting that Billy McKay scored the winner, his aging legs have been well managed this year and he seems to have added quite a bit on the coaching side. A legend Fitting also that Danny Devine also scored, someone who nailed his colours to Caley's mast for this season early after last season finish no doubt helping to encourage others to stay or join the fight for this season. Not always appreciated, but a legend. And incredible that he and especially Remi Savage (with 52 appearances) featured in so many games. Quite incredible, given how little back up we had in the CB area, and how often in the past we have suffered long injury absences. Scott Kellacher has navigated a season where expectation was high, helping to assemble a decent team, managing the workload, those terrible 3G pitches, and different opposition styles. Mostly getting it right, making the right calls as the season came to it's epic end. Two years of a managing CV that is worthy validation and if the next season goes well must surely edge him towards 'legendary' status. Well done to Stenny for pushing us all the way, some achievement, I hope they do well in the play-offs Well done to all the young lads who have given so much, learnt so much, earned reputations, especially the boys on loan, In an ideal world Bavidge and Stewart would appear for us next season, we can only hope Aberdeen ignore a season and a half of stellar performances and decide that a Scottish Premiership campaign isn't for them. Regardless of that, in MacIntyre, MacLeod, McKinnon, Savage (if he stays) Allan, Longstaff, Munro, Alone, Zimba (19 goals) and Alonge, there is a decent base. For young Wotherspoon, probably asking too much. So an exciting season awaiting for 26/27, definitely a trip to Greenock Morton for me (overnighting in Dunoon!) and maybe Queens Park, in their actual ground not Ochilview! Possibly Dunfermline again, and a trip up to Inverness with the wife (who is complaining she is missing out) A wonderful season, it is life affirming supporting Caley and roaming Scotland! My day yesterday was spent watching Palace Women get promotion to the Super League. Can Palace men pull off European glory? Fingers crossed for another miracle ☺️ 😭
  6. Full CTO report now published Last one for the season out of 64 I think (including friendlies) Cheers IBM keeping the stats ticking over. Cheers Scotty keeping the site ticking over.
  7. Thanks to the team and management for what you've achieved over the season, and today. And thanks to Alan Savage, for making all this possible!
  8. Just got home to sunny Berkshire after a wonderful couple of days back in Inverness. All 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed the game and thought our first half performance in particular was outstanding. So much better than most of the performances watched on Alba in recent weeks. A pity about the unnecessary pitch invasion before the game ended which made me worry for a few minutes that the ref might abandon the game. As others have said Bar94 was really buzzing pre match and enjoyable to be part of. We then treated ourselves to the hospitality package which, one again, was excellent. Our 6 shared a table with 3 Aberdeen supporters whose hobby is going round as many grounds in Scotland sampling their hospitality offerings. One of these 3 won 2nd prize in a raffle which was taking place. It was a football signed by our whole championship winning side and the Aberdeen supporter very kindly gave it to me, as he realised it would mean more to a Caley supporter than it would to him. An extremely generous and much appreciated gesture. The ball is already taking pride of place amongst my personal Caley memorabilia. Only downer for us was that BA managed to lose the hand luggage of 2 of our group on the way back to London, having insisted at Inverness airport that it would have to be checked into the hold as there was limited space for hand luggage in the cabin on an absolutely full plane. After waiting more than an hour at the luggage carousel BA finally found out that the missing bags were still in Inverness, and that they would try and get them to us in the next few days. But even all that hassle will not spoil our memories of a wonderful, and fully deserved victory. Well done to all concerned. Onwards and deservedly, upwards!
  9. CHAMPIONS Great wee double act 👏
  10. Well said bc, I’m sure we all echo that, and are grateful for all the unseen effort that goes into the previews, reports, stats etc.
  11. Me too, here in Brisbane at two o'clock in the morning! Well done. We're back!!!
  12. A long time since I left a match so happy. Due to go to Arran next week on holiday and my wife reminded me of how relegation then the Kelty scheme ruined our holiday to Arran two years ago. Thank you to everyone who has turned our club around.
  13. Congratulations to all at the club who have made this day possible
  14. 🏆 League1 Champions 🏆 The Caley Jags are off to the Championship after beating Hamilton Accies 2-1 in front of over 5000 raucous fans at the Caledonian Stadium. An early strike from Captain Danny Devine in the third minute settled the nerves and an absolute club legend Billy Mckay added a second before half an hour to up the volume in the stadium. I spoke to Billy at East Fife and he assured me they would get the job done this week. What a legend. Accies scored a late goal through Kevin O'Hara and we had an extra late drama when they were awarded a penalty. However Ross Munro pulled off a tremendous diving save to deny Oli Shaw and that was the cue for an enthusiastic but premature pitch invasion. About fifteen minutes later the game resumed for a handful of seconds before referee Chris Graham called a halt and the real pitch invasion started. Credit to Stenhousemuir for giving it a real go all season, good luck in the play-offs. Full report and match reaction tomorrow. We have some celebrating to do now. 🍺 The Main Stand and the North Stand were packed out as the the teams took to the pitch for hopefully the final time this season. Would we take the game to Accies or would we play a cagey game like we did at East Fife the previous week? That question would be answered in the third minute when Captain Danny Devine crashed Paul Allan's corner kick high into the net in front of the Hamilton fans to set the scene for the afternoon with the home fans loving this early advantage. Inverness were in control of the early stages with the bulk of the game being played in the Accies third of the pitch with MacKinnon and Wotherspoon prominent and Billy Mckay rolling back the years as he buzzed around the front line. Alfie Bavidge was also running the channels and using his pace to good effect. Accies were restricted to shooting from range, not necessarily on target with Ross Munro idle for the most part. The pressure was mounting on the visitors with a number of blocked efforts keeping the score down, but nobody was on hand to stop club legend Billy Mckay scoring after great work on the left side through Wotherspoon and Mitchell Robertson whose cross into the box was finished by Billy, his 132nd goal for this club. That ramped up the volume in the stands, however we all held our breath when the ball got stuck under Devine's feet as he tried to get the ball back to Munro. Thankfully the keeper managed to get to the ball in the nick of time to dribble his way out of danger and keep us two ahead at the break. Alas Danny's game was over before the break as he was unable to continue after an earlier knock and he limped off to be replaced by Oscar MacIntyre with Robertson moving inside to centre back. HALF TIME: 2-0 Accies looked sharper after a torrid first half and pressed Inverness higher up the park without really troubling Munro. We blocked a couple of attempts in the first few minutes of the second half as we seemed content to hold what we had and in truth, the game lost it's sparkle and deteriorated into a dire midfield battle. Ross Millen had an effort saved before the substitutes flowed from both sides. We did force four corners in quick succession but it ended with the ball holding up in the breeze and going behind. Millen hit a fierce shot just wide as we looked to kill off the game and the best chance of the second half saw Alfie Stewart head wide after a great ball in from the left. The game was untidy over the final fifteen minutes but there was late drama when Kevin O'Hara scored after we conceded one too many free kicks allowing Accies to get the ball into our box all too often for my liking. Ahh well, so be it. However, there was further drama when we were all waiting for the final whistle to blow. Millen was adjudged to have tripped Oli Shaw who took the spot kick himself. As befits champions, Ross Munro pulled off a great save to his right and that triggered a spontaneous pitch invasion from the over eager young team. It took a while to clear a thousand or so from the playing surface before the game restarted. It was barely worth restarting and the game was brought to a halt seconds later to start invasion number two, this time in earnest as jubilant fans celebrated on the park with players. FULL TIME: 2-1 It's been a long season, coming from five points behind as we set out to win the title. Thirty-six League1 games later and add on four League Cup ties, two Scottish Cup ties and eleven KDM trophy games, it's been quite a journey. Not to mention seven pre-season encounters and a testimonial plus three North of Scotland Cup ties then it really has been a wonderful season after all the trauma we have come through under our previous failed regime. Think that is 64 games negotiated and Previewed and Reported here on CTO. Statue for Savage incoming. Well done to everyone concerned at the club and to the fanbase for producing a brilliant atmosphere throughout our season, especially in the final game. The Supporters Bus organisers, the Wyness Shuffle podcasters, and a massive well done to George Moodie and Supporters Trust for the huge improvements in the matchday experience. No doubt I've missed some out, apologies for that, but a huge thanks on here to Scotty for keeping this site going and to IBM for keeping all the stats up to date. There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes on CTO and it really is much appreciated. 15. What an end to the season, great game, great support, well done to all at the football club from the top to the bottom on and off the park Even dropping a few points in recent games we were the form team and deserved to win the league
  16. What a day, what a game , what a season. Great crowd and atmosphere today. Fantastic to see so many families and young children. So many memories and emotions for lots of us. An amazing and fitting end to the season. Just over a year ago the club was close to closing. We are now promoted and leaping over Ross County in the process. It is truly fairytale stuff. For me personally that’s in many ways right up with the feelings and emotions of our Cup Final win. Well done to ICT, the players and everyone connected to the club.
  17. What a game ending, got a lift in a chopper and told everyone at Macmoray we just won the League
  18. That was Bar 94 pre-match. What a party post-match! Alfie leading the singing!
  19. Wow! From Administration and points deductions to champions! There is so much to discuss, I don't know where to start. So I'll have a celebratory drink instead. Cheers!
  20. Well done to all at ICT. It got a bit Squeaky Bum at times and not just today. But.....when it all boils down, its very much a case of JOB DONE. Onwards and upwards.
  21. Well done boys you did make us proud 👏 😇 ⚽ 👍 roll on next season
  22. Those were nervy last few minutes, with the penalty, the miss, pitch invasion, boxing match, restart, final whistle... Just said thank you to Alan Savage on the pitch side after the trophy presentation, as without his backing and hard work I don't think we would have been there to see it 👏
  23. Championees championees oh eh oh eh oh eh!!!! Never in doubt eh! 😜 Get in!
  24. If you offered me the league title but it goes down to the final day at the start of the season, I would've bitten off your hand at that, given the 5 point penalty, the strength of competition in the league, and the squad rebuilding. Is it frustrating to not have had the league wrapped up by now, yes, but it's a young squad and Kells first full season as manager bumps were going to happen. Hopefully we can strengthen the squad and continue the upward trend
  25. Phew, we’ve done it!
  26. Oh wow, John gets around. He was at my other club AFC Totton for our play off final victory last season on the south coast of England and did a video on that too. Lovely guy. https://youtu.be/z3kW_XLAwBo
  27. A vlog from yesterdays game, lots of well kent faces...
  28. Can you add north stand loo issues lol
  29. Well said Danny
  30. And down again! (Snigger, snigger)
  31. Absolutely fantastic effort by all at the Club and especially to the fans who turn out home and away every match. Unfortunately that is something I can no longer do. Very proud of you all. Have a great night wherever you are.........Im going to raise a glass in Espana......Cheers
  32. Phew, glad that’s over. We never do things the easy way. What a season!
  33. What a season! From -5 to champions. Top work boys!!! I'm off to get pissshed!!!
  34. "Football, bloody hell!"
  35. 90 +6 on OneFootball with Accies missing a pen on 90 +4 .. and breathe and celebrate: 2-1 final :)
  36. Come on the Caley Jags. What a game in store. So many of us carrying so many memories from over the years. ❤️
  37. Forget Alan Hansen. We can win everything with kids. Let them show us today who they want to be tomorrow. Come on Calum, Alfies, Adam and Oscar.
  38. All home sections sold out! The support is there, over to the team now!
  39. come on ICT make us proud ⚽ ⚽👍
  40. The SPFL has announced it has arranged a PDG helicopter to deliver the League One trophy to either Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Stenhousemuir
  41. No worries here. One or two on this thread play the betting forum or NAPS competition as I do. I get random numbers selected by grandkids and I have been using this system for 34 games ( cheating really) and never has an ICT game been involved. Last week, game 35 the numbers for the 1st time pointed me to ICT v EF as a DRAW. And it was. ( i thought 3-1 to us but went with the numbers) Granddaughter on Thursday, for game 36, selected 8 and 1 . ICT v Hamilton a HOME WIN.. So it’s written in the stars, an omen, BUT, salt stays firmly in the cupboard today, no black cats in my vicinity, won’t be adjusting any squint mirrors and definitely no walking under any ladders. As I said no worries.
  42. Feeling much better re tomorrow now thats off the cards. Felt kinda inevitable...
  43. County going down with dignity…
  44. I just loved hearing the commentator confirm “Back to back relegations for Ross County” 😀
  45. 90+7. County make it 2-2 ... still bottom. 90 +8. Raith score to make it 3-2. 90+9. final score.
  46. I know! When I made the post they were 9th. I just didn’t want the risk of a distraction of a potential Derby should we fail to win the league tomorrow. Now our players have the added incentive of leapfrogging them!
  47. I see Raith have just scored 2 quick goals... you know what that means!
  48. Can't go - at my brother's 60th on Arran, but I will be there in my thoughts. Go oan yersels, Caley Thistle, gie it laldy! You are TITANIUM.
This leaderboard is set to London/GMT+01:00
