Agreed. Although Robbo should be very cautious when considering any offer. Some managers are a good fit for certain clubs. John Robertson has twice been a successful manager at ICT but has never really enjoyed success elsewhere. In fact, he should perhaps bear in mind that no manager has ever left ICT to enjoy success at any other club.

Yes, I saw there was no blame apportioned to club or player , but stating that he has earned in excess of 200k without offering much in return - tends to give an imbalanced view of the situation. Perhaps it's statements like this that are responsible for negativity towards a player who was an important part of the team for a period of time.

Jaysus it was all going so well and then someone went off one one. Did we over achieve under achieve or did we achieve what was really expected? I'm slightly confused as a North stander as I am neither a moany old man nor a 15 year old wannabe casual as I can't afford Chivas Regal or Stone Island. But I am a fan of the club and am as p1ssedd of with how it unfolded as anyone. But rightly or wrongly I do think we had a certain spirit about us in the run in which will hopefully kick on in the new season with a couple of good signings. Chalmers away - fine. Coll - maybe. Fine. Money talks, we need to deal with it and Robbo is doing so with the financial constraints we have until we can work out WTAF can be done to engage with the wider community and get gates back up - a different thread, I know. Tired, jaded, long season - that's just me. What Kingsmills said. He's on a good number here despite all the constraints, so there's little pressure on him. Dundee would be a poisoned chalice imo. However if he wants to leave, no point standing in his way.

Powerful stuff, but it basically ignores the quality of our opponents. You'd have a point if we were competing against Fort William in these games, obviously not if we were playing Man City. Why should we have done better against County, Dundee United and Hearts specifically? All three have significantly higher budgets to work with - Robbo has said that County have more than double our budget, Alan Preston said the other night that United had at least treble. Hearts' will be a lot more. Why do you ignore that not only did we put two of those clubs out of cup, but also finished above at least three other clubs in our league with higher budgets than us? For me, the most impressive aspect of our overall performance this season is that it took place at a time when everyone is on such a massive downer. The whole club's being cut to the bone, players leave at the first sniff of interest and we're delighted just to get them off the wage bill, the home crowds have been reduced to a small group of moany old men and some 15 year-old wannabe casuals. I'm just delighted we stayed up under these circumstances - overachievement is putting it mildly.

I’m not on CTO much these days mainly due to the soul destroying happy clappers but there are some amount of melt downs on Twitter regarding the move of Joe Chalmers and rightly so IMO. It appears now instead of being a feeder club to Aberdeen for years which I could grudgingly accept, we have now an unhealthy allegiance with County(Draper,McKay,Vigurs etc)and this certainly doesn’t sit well with me and many others. Its quite frankly not good enough and it is bound to have a detrimental effect on the purchase of season tickets for next season. It clearly shows the so called guardians of our club have very little or any ambition on returning to the top flight. A club from a city with a population of nearly 100k bowing down to a club from a village that has 5k sounds absolutely ludicrous but that’s what’s happening and only highlights this new worrying trend. We have a manager and a very competent one at that. Hopefully, the question of our next manager will not arise for several years to come.

Think Robertson is statistically our best manager, both times! Hopefully the board have ran this past him and he's ok with not talking to them - they obviously have money so any discussion would be pretty straightforward, i.e. take us straight up or you're fired. John knows this place and financial constraints aside is quite settled in the job. Maybe this might even get the board to show JR a bit of transfer market love??

I thought McCart struggled with us in the premier, whether that was partly due to how terrible we were or how young & inexperienced he was I'm not sure. Probably the wrong club at the wrong time , he still needs a bit more championship football to toughen him up a bit. Should be premier standard in time for the next close season bidding. Get him contracted up.

Looking increasingly likely a straight and stark choice between leaving on WTO rules and risking hundreds of thousands of jobs or revoking Article 50 and remaining. Whilst all logic suggests the latter will prevail we cannot underestimate the xenophobic nutters and their populist appeal to the lowest common denominator. No scope for complacency.

We are where we are. We might have been unfortunate to have been twice relegated from the top tier but it's no use crying over spilt milk. The important thing now is not how we fell out of the Premiership but how we get back there before we settle as a mid Championship side.

I still feel that a lot of these deals are his revenge for the years when the shoe was on the other foot.

Can we have a bollocks emoji, please? First of all, the population of Greater Inverness was estimated in 2016 to be just over 63,000. So have 35,000 people really moved in since then? The fact that Dougal is overlooking is that Inverness and Dingwall are very close. Bing Maps tells me that the grounds are 15.2 miles apart. Brentford and Orient in London are further apart. If you are mobile, then 15 miles is nothing. Perfectly possible to live in or near Sneck and commute to Dingwall. You don't have to choose to live in the "village". If players can move club, earn more, and not have to move house and/or disrupt families, then who can blame them? Maybe at some time the pendulum will swing back, and ICT will be the richer club for a while. But I do frequently think of the point that CB used to often make - can the Highlands really sustain two clubs, so physically close together, at the higher levels of Scottish football? Maybe for a periond, once in a while, when all the stars are aligned for both clubs. But on a permanent or semi-permanent basis? If Dundee and Edinburgh can't do it, then it's even tougher for the Highlands.

Here we go again........ if its true then the club should have learned from previous scenarios. Approaches should be rejected by the man himself only not the club or board, no good ever comes of this.

Feeder club ? Bigger clubs and those with bigger budgets sign players all the time. The fact that clubs are looking at this level for talent locally should be no surprise. Perhaps we need to be looking too at HL, SPFL lower leagues as well as wider. The perception of Inverness in the mainstream media does little to help attract new players given the portrayal as some frozen wilderness beyond the central belt where folks still take a horse and cart to work and await the invent of colour, couple that with our minimal fan base and apathy shown by most of the city its a hard sell. Bearing in mind travel and accessibility is poor (main road links are outdated), property and living costs are not cheap - so given the wages we can offer anyone but young players with little ties and willing to take the plunge to prove themselves are unlikely to be affordable or want to move - so its inevitable if these players do well they will be hunted by bigger prey. Given the title I was hoping this was going to look at options to tie in better with the local community, youth groups and even HL to use them as feed clubs for ICT to capture better and more young talent.

The problem is our location. If players come up to the Highlands to play for us, they usually love it here, and if they come to the end of their contracts and want to stay in the area, and are looking for a change, the only other option for them is County. In the central belt, there is a plethora of clubs they could sign for, but here, it's the choice of us or county, and at the moment, with MacGregors financial clout, it's county they choose. I hate it when ICT players move to our rivals, but I have a sneeking suspicion that Chalmers won't be the last of our players moving there for next season.

Maybe he is interested as most people would obviously want to look at an offer to decide whether or not its worthwhile to pursue. Dont like the club refusing to allow another club to speak to the manager as it can create bad feeling. Rangers were allowed to speak with McInnes but he said No. Robbo could do the same

I could never understand how Celtic let McCart go and go on to sign Hendry from Dundee, there is no comparison. I really believe that McCart will turn out to be one of our best signings and he will go on to achieve a lot in the game.

Mc ART- - Ideal signing and hopefully he will develop further into a very valuable player who will relish being with the club that offered him the main chance ; and stay a longer time than most of the others. To build this club back up for a stable future you need quality, resilience, development and the cosseting of these younger players. Also a touch of tough love. All of which, in turn, should help with the development of their loyalty and their appreciation of what ICT is all about. I hope.

If we don't currently have any targets for LB then I may be inclined to offer McHattie a year's extension. I'm not sure Robbo and the club will be rushing to offer many of the 2020 players contracts right now and possibly waiting to see what Donaldson and Walsh decide to do but it would be good to see McCart the next player offer an extension. I suspect they'll wait and see who we manage to bring in before making any decisions.

What do folks on here expect of ICT We have come third in the league with probably the sixth top budget in the league We have reached the semi finals of the Scottish Cup We reached the semi finals of the playoffs and decisions from the officials have cost us. I think we have massively overachieved and the management and players deserve a lot of thanks for this. Also the away fans deserve a lot of credit. The neagative posters on here need to have a reality check and if they are not happy with what we have achieved this season, have a look at where Falkirk who are a bigger club and have a far bigger fan base than ourselves are this evening . We certainly have a lot of moaners in our support. Have a good summer folks hopefully the sun will lighten some perspectives on here?

Great effort by the team and fantastic backing from the away fans. Unfortunately effort alone will not win us anything. It's the age olde saying: You can only p15h with the cork you've got. We know our shortcomings and I'm sure we all know who we should be keeping, but I can't fault the effort of the players, they gave all they had. Today/last night is not really the time for us to be slagging off the squad, but it should be a time to savour the microscopic shreds of success in a challenging season. I'll come back to this in a few days as we learn to cope with another season in the Championship. I don't think we should be getting ahead of ourselves and expecting success next season either. Unless a miracle happens, we will still be in the Championship, still have no money and still have sh1te referees. Plenty of passion shown on the matchday thread, but try and keep it civil. No one died and we are all different with the same aim. ps Thank Christ the season has ended. No more match reports for a couple of months

I would rather they went up. If they stay in the Championship they will be by far the best resources club in the division and hard to beat to the title. I would far prefer either Hamilton or St Mirren both closer to us in terms of resources.

We have had our differences over the season mate but that summing up is spot on . Im sure big Jordan would admit he should have scored and Doran too but those lads have played their hearts out all season and especially in the playoffs. Whatever anyone thinks of misses should have a look at Nicky Clarks and then you will inderstand what a sitter is. I agree "Monumental effort and then the ref did his thing"

Very decent first half for us, but the game turned on one incident and it ceased to be much of a contest, the stuffing had been knocked out of us and we had little left to offer. Fair play to Utd who played very well in the 2nd and went for the jugular rather than just keeping it tight. Best moment of the night for me was getting home to a very, very large whisky waiting for me. It’s been a long season but I couldn’t have realistically hoped for much more with the resources we have. Cheers!
