  1. This is a joke right?
  2. Where is this passion yogi keeps talking about??? Where is the Spirit yogi keeps talking about??? Where are the characters yogi keeps talking about??? Only one sub used today and yet we had Roberts, Foran and Sutherland on bench who could have given us something different for the last 20 mins. I am really getting sick of this possession football we keep playing it was good to start with now everyone seems scared to put the ball forward so they keep passing it back while the other team bomb forward to put pressure on us. Even Barry Wilson is seeing what we are all seeing not enough attacks being created and we are just holding out for most possession
  3. Yet another awful, boring negative game from a John Hughes side. No flair, width or creativity but I am sure that our manager will be happy with the performance. Unfortunately we are right in the relegation mix and unless Hughes changes things fast I fear for us. How are Foran and Roberts going to get match fit if the manager refuses to use his subs!?!? Barry Wilson 100% right, I would love him on the park right now giving us the width we desperately need!!
  4. So basically anyone trying out the "pay what you can" won't be rushing back to watch us for full price?
  5. This is just dull, turgid cr@p. Football is an entertainment business and whatever our football is at the moment, it's not entertaining. If Man U fans are bored with the football at Old Trafford, they should try suffering 90 min at Inverness. Sorry to be so negative, but all my optimism after the win at New Year has been sucked out of me! Width, pace and goals, please!
  6. I don't think anyone has been consistently good. Some players have shown it in flashes like Tansey and Polworth and more recently Draper. Williams has been, bizarrely, in and out of the team despite normally being quite solid. Storey has had a wee barren run in the goal scoring stakes but has normally been very good. Overall, the team has been very inconsistent and this is reflected in our points difference from last season when we were firing on all cylinders almost every week (a very tough task). Currently we are 18 points worse off this season than at the same stage last season. Only Dundee United have shown a poorer comparison between this season and last season. EDIT: Link to STV tweet showing the difference in points between 2014/15 and 2015/16
  7. The whole point of the possession game is to physically and mentally tire your opponents as they're pulled from pillar to post trying to win the ball back. It doesn't work if the opposition sit back and let you knock it around in front of them. Particks defensive players won't have a much easier afternoon than they did today. We didn't stretch them at all. To quote one of the tactical masterminds of 'tiki taka', Johan Cruyff, "When you get the ball, you make the pitch big. When you lose the ball, you make the pitch small." We're doing the opposite! When we start a move everyone drops deep and runs back towards the man in possession. Our shape is too compact and narrow. There's a chronic lack of space, movement or options for the man on the ball. Little wonder our moves go nowhere and precious few chances are created. At times today our half was more congested than the proverbial 'Sauchiehall Street on a Saturday night'. Hardly a recipe for free flowing football or individual flair. The players are grafting hard but the gameplan isn't working. All in all a dreadful game of football.
  8. Storey should always be in the box. With his quick feet and the right wingers playing with him he will be some threat. Right now he is playing all over up front going back to his own half to win the ball and drive forward yet no one follows him to support.
  9. Apparently a pay what you can ticket was bought for tuppence which was just about the right price for often dull and slow football. On the back of the Stirling game it was a long boring afternoon. Miles storey was isolated and not supported from midfield enough. Oh well...another point in the bag.
  10. 4-5-1 including 3 holding midfield players against Partick at home ....no ambition to win the match WTF is going on.
  11. Great news and a positive but he wasnt out of contract this season and isnt a deal id have wanted focus on right now. Lets hope he acts as a catalyst for others to sign now.
  12. That was dire today. Nothing else to add.
  13. I agree and I don't like being negative but had enough of this drivel Team look very uninspired to me
  14. That was a dreadful affair today. I thought today's passing and communication within the team wasn't there. I felt really sorry for Miles Storey because of the lack of service. One thing that really annoyed me today was the fact that Tremarco and Raven had acres of spaces on the wings and they weren't allowed to utilise it because of the narrow style of play Yogi likes. We need to up the game especially with Hearts in town next weekend
  15. Bottom line is this.....whether you agree with the law or not, if you break it then you run the risk of a police record, fine, fbo etc. Your actions also place the club at risk of sanctions from the SFA, Police and Local Authorities. The upper end of the scale for fines from the SFA alone is £100,000....and Local Authorities can remove safety certificates (closing stands and/or stadiums). Obviously that's the extreme end of the scale....but even a much lesser fine would hit us heavily. The club don't set the law, but they do have a duty to ensure they play their part in maintaining it....so if you think the law sucks, take it up with the law makers.
  16. Again that was a smoke bomb at Stirling not a flare. And are we being dramatic much? What could have gone wrong? How many people are injured by smoke bombs annually? Your more likely to be injured from a football hitting you.
  17. I was also searched at that Derby game in Dingwall, in fact everyone at that game was searched. But today what I witnessed was different!. It appeared the younger Caley fans were singled out by the stewards. I hope I'm wrong because anything that could make our future supporters feel unwelcome can't be a good thing. I agree with IBM that the singing section's enthusiastic chanting/drumming should be applauded for the positive atmosphere they create. Keep it up lads!!!
  18. Well I can't say I'm surprised that Hughes may have been questioning commitment because that was dreadful...infact shambolic! The defence were pretty solid, but from there on it was just sore to watch! Tansey played side to side (but had no options) draper just didn't seem to be up to it and vigurs was just a disgrace! Mutumbo tried but seemed to think he was playing rugby always running into trouble and Williams didn't seem to be involved in anything! Storey as usual ran the channels, done what he could but just isn't getting chances! Why was polworth not playing? Him over vigurs any day! And how can Hughes not see that when we're putting in a performance like that a change is needed! Foran, Sutherland, Roberts...3 players fit again and can make a difference yet none of them were used! I couldn't even take a positive out of that, top 6 or not, it felt like a defeat! We can only hope that the hearts game next week triggers the kind of run we had last time!
  19. Pretty sure Hearts are in the premiership this season...
  20. Scottish League One Darren Dods (Brechin City 3-3 Airdrie)
  21. Thought it could not get worse than Stirling game !! On his progression heaven help us next week .
  22. 3556 according to BBC.
  23. Not a classic- both teams equally poor. Partick should have had a few yellows for constant fouling and hiding back/ pulling our players. We were woeful all over the park, storey made some good runs and squandered a few chances aswell. Mutombo got a good bollocking from Yogi and was hooked soon after. Polworth provided some good play when he came on and Warrens heed must be throbbing with the amount of clearing headers. Otherwise one to forget, but a point better off.
  24. That's one goal in 9 games for our star striker only striker - it's not that he's playing badly, it's just a symptom of the way the team is playing. We will slide down the league until the goals start to flow again for him, you can't rely on long range efforts from midfielders finding the target as frequently as they have done during this time.
  25. He's 100% correct by all accounts. Utterly abysmal. 1 point from Killie and Partick is playoff form.
  26. Now while I agree that flares are dangerous and have no place in a football stadium, I'm starting to grow tired of this attitude where they and smoke bombs are one and the same. On top of that, we're always told how dangerous smoke bombs are, but what type of danger are we talking about here? All we're told is 'You wouldn't want to breathe that stuff in, it's bad for you" but we can't go through life like that. I doubt the half time pie and bovril or a pre-match cigarette are particularly good for you either. Should we only sell celery at the kiosk from now on? Just out of interest, for something that's seemingly so dangerous, have there ever been any injuries in Scottish football as a result of one being set off? I personally have never heard of a case. Should people bring them to the games anyway? No. Is it the end of the world if they do? No. Should they be banned as a result? No. The CJT statement has an attitude I'm not keen on. It shouldn't be wishing the expulsion of those who've brought smoke bombs in the past, rather inviting and helping them support the club in a different way. Scotty's point about Toronto is an interesting one. I fear we aren't progressive enough over here to do something so sensible, but if we could I wouldn't be opposed to it. I believe smoke bombs do add something to the atmosphere and if that can be added in a safe manner than what really is the problem?
  27. I wasn't surprised by Sky's decision. They were looking for a big upset; wee part-time team knocking the cup holders out!
  28. i tell you what is cringeworthy, someone battering someone else down all the time. I don't agree with 99% of what he says but I just scroll past. Maybe you could do the same?

Spot on. Harry Gow for a fresh roll before the match and take it in with you.

    Never enough hole punches either.....
  31. I agree with the statement. At end of the day the pyros ruin a game and also wastes time of what could be a good game. It could also seriously injure someone. And I agree with the comments of those who do it should be banned. I don't know how they manage to get them sneaked in. As at Stirling myself and others I was with were standing not that far from them who had the flares. Not sure who it was but if that went wrong I dread to think what would have happened.

Better ask the club office. Seriously though, if the food is not to people's liking, simply don't buy it. Have a decent lunch and there should be no real need to replenish on pies before teatime. Also look at the money you'll save, how much more of the game you'll see and, in some cases, the inches that will be kept off the waist by simply not consuming food that's really not needed. How many other afternoons of the week do people punctuate with a pie? On the subject of seeing more of the game, I just don't understand how people can pay £20 odd quid to go to a game of football and then spend much of the 90 minutes queuing for a pie which they probably don't need. PS - any comment to the effect that I get into games free and get a free (very nice!) pie is hackneyed old hat and like water off a duck's back.

  34. Fabulous 1st half except for goals in the net, 2nd half we had enough chances to win and Partick didn't even deserve a point today. Good turnout and good support behind the goals again. No flag today as 40mph winds forecast.

All we need is 11 gary warrens - problem solved. At the game today Tremaco took a sore one and Yogi was telling at him to get moving again and he was clearly toiling a bit but doing his best (poor bugger). Then Mutombo gets tackled and rolls around slapping the ground sure sign serious injury? Nope...magic sponge then right as rain...not good.

I would have put it at around the 3,000 mark, even less for a full price match in January with a Cup game a few days prior and another home game next week. So 500-600 up. I know only 100 extra full-time adult fans could generate £40,00 pa year on year but I honestly expected more. With all the dormant fans getting in on the cheap, all those people on twitter, Cup final fans and all the publicity regarding the promotion for newbies. March and April, Hamilton and Motherwell, would it be worth replicating for the likes of pensioners, secondary schools further education and apprentices for Easter holiday. Even pensioners for a pound. Pound coin with the crest on it. and TFI Saturday £5 for under 21 Holding up a card display with the info across the cards.
  37. Aye well chuffed with the guys behind the goals, all having a great time. The sign reminds me of the Green Brigade. I bet the next one is white paint on black landscape fabric from poundland.
  38. Who has contributed most or improved most so far? Contenders must be Storey, Tansey and Warren, but Polworth, Tremarco and Devine have acquitted themselves well on the whole. Raven is consistent and Williams under rated. Vincent has done well when fit when out of position. Draper continues to be the essential backbone. Fon Williams generally ok. Vigurs and Mutombo growing on me. Not convinced yet by Wedderburn, and pity Fisher has been injured. Hope I've not missed any regular starters! Worth a poll or a debate?
  39. Barry Wilson doing his best to make sure we don't get a decent crowd at Tulloch Stadium by saying the crowd will want their money back and other derogatory remarks about the ICT games he has been to this season.-------------poor show from an ex player---probably sour grapes
  40. Young teens protesting against "Modern Football" does rather amuse me. What experience/knowledge do they have of any other kind?
