  1. I'm currently using my Dad's account, as Ally Davidson. As one of the four boys to go, I believe the situation has been put to bed. We went in there expecting debate but instead, it was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone got a say and it was taken into account by both parties. Being on the board of CJT is a thankless job and do it for no other reason but for our enjoyment which should NEVER go unnoticed. The behaviour on the bus was unsatisfactory and we know this, and CJT had to do something. We were all frustrated and the situation has gone way too far. Although banning us wasn't a good move, currently two of the boys banned travel to Motherwell today on that bus. So me, and everyone, from now on should start appreciating the hours of work and dedication put in by John, Leslie and the team. It's not easy for them with the lack of support for something that they do not need to do. So, we should all move on. Just get behind the team and CJT board and use our frustration towards something worthwhile.... Like County.

  2. You must get bored of your own patter. It's horrendous and repetitive. If it's not this it's how some of our dedicated fans are beneath you and are low lifes. Such a bore.

  7. Not having a go at you as I appreciate you are actually one of those trying to do things for the right reasons, but there are others on the board who are longer serving and should be more aware that the above does not satisfy the minimum requirements for giving notice of the AGM.

  9. Really disappointed in this post and feel it has done nothing to help us move forward. I was at the meeting at we had a full discussion about what happened and what was acceptable and what wasn't (mainly on grounds of safety) . It was made very clear that singing was a positive thing and the CJT board members and other fans who attended enjoy the singing as much as anyone else and are also very appreciative of the atmosphere these boys create both home and away. The boys also had some issues which we discussed and I felt they left feeling a lot better and more understanding of the bigger picture. Unfortunately it's uninformed rants such as this that have led to so much of the bad feeling. I know you have considered joining the board of CJT in the past so I look forward to seeing your completed nomination paper. I'm happy to provide a signature on it for you.

  10. Apart from their manager I can only think of Pearson, who broke Warren's leg and nearly crocked Danny Williams yesterday. He is the stereotype of a mouth-breather. Just watch him and see.

There are indeed not two but three certainties in life - death, taxes ..... and an grumpy response from Joe Indeed I've sometimes wondered if Joe could possibly be some long lost relation of the late Sir Geoffrey Howe since his rebukes do have a certain flavour of being savaged by a dead sheep!

  16. No idea if it was the same 'young team' but there was a good crowd of younger fans who were in superb form today getting behind the team and then getting it right up the 'Motherwell Bois' when Roberts scored

  17. Not a vintage performance, but we did deserve the win. Both full backs played well, and I thought Draper was the pick of the midfielders and that Danny Williams looked our most dangerous attacking player: some excellent movement, particularly at the start of the second half, and he had one clever flick that Ripley saved at his near post. Mutombo started well, but I thought he faded before the end of the first half was over, and he does still look a little lightweight, both in possession and when trying to close down opponents - I'd like to see him work a bit harder in the latter respect. There's clearly talent in there, but he does still look a bit of a luxury. Not as much, though, as Vigurs, who I thought was extremely disappointing. He was ponderous in possession, didn't close down enough or fight for the ball when he lost possession, and was frequently negative in his passing. This became even more obvious when Roberts came on and immediately started running at players and trying to look for forward passes. Obviously they are very different sorts of players, but I think a team that had Polworth starting instead of Vigurs, and also included Roberts, would have far more dynamism and forward momentum that we saw for most of the first half today: Tremarco's run and cross for the opener was about the first really decisive piece of play that we had managed, despite a few passages of neat interplay. The second half was better, although we did lose our way for a while around the time of the Motherwell goal, something that wasn't helped by the substitution of Storey for Polworth, when Vigurs would have been a far more obvious candidate to be replaced. In a way though, it was good that Motherwell scored, because it made the impact of Roberts' goal all the sweeter. What a strike. If you weren't there, you'll enjoy seeing it on TV. The Motherwell Twitter account, from deep in a well of its own salty tears, described it as 'speculative'. How bitter. Great to be in the quarter final draw, although I don't think this looks like a cup-winning team at the moment. Would love Dumbarton away in the next round if they could somehow get past Dundee, but if not, Morton at Cappielow would do very nicely.

  18. All managers have favourites: Hard grafters for some, flair players for others, characters in the dressing room, rock hard tacklers etc etc. Managers are human and also tend to favour a particular style and type of player. There is little evidence for Hughes not favouring Raven, except the odd b@ll@cking form the touchline, substitutions in games and a spell on the bench, but Raven (for the second year running has gone public in saying that he'd love to stay. For the second year running, it hasn't been plain sailing, so he's either asking for megabucks or he's not top of Yogi's priorities. As for Vincent, my gut feeling is that he was the target for the injury jibe from Hughes. No evidence, just speculation. Both would be a massive loss.

  20. Thankfully this saga is now at an end. Those posters that have tried to stir things up, knowingly or unknowingly should be ashamed of themselves. Undoubtedly, mistakes have been made on both sides but at least both parties have been big enough to admit to this. Just because someone says something happened doesn't mean it actually did.

  21. Some awful speculation by some posters on this topic. Who says there is unrest amongst the players? Where is the evidence Hughes has favourites, Butcher and Brewster definitely did. It looks lime more contracts have been offered to players so let's just wait and see who else signs up.

  23. sounds like we were talking to him during the window but from Yogi's reaction at the time it sounds like the second we started talking privately his agent or someone in his camp leaked it to the press in the hope of getting a better offer. Yogi basically said at that point that we were no longer interested. I agree with Yogi on this one

  29. Is still doesn't make sense to ban the majority of them(apart from the ones you know!!!) for the Motherwell game. Fair enough your holding "meetings" with some of them but you should be give them another chance. After all it is the Scottish cup qualifier and not just a normal league game. What point does that prove? That you have authority over everyone who uses your bus? That misbehaving will result in a one match ban? Give them your viewes on what's acceptable tell them what they had done so they know at least then unban them TODAY. We need all our fans and as much support to help our team into the next stage.

  31. That statement from Mr Horne is very disturbing. It appears indeed that a whole bus has been banned due to the unspecified 'misbehaviour' of some. Those who give up their time for no reward to organise and run the buses are generally worthy of praise but this is an ill considered shambles and does them no credit at all and did a bus driver really complain that a bus load of excited young football fans had the temerity to sing football songs ? If so maybe he would be better employed driving Trappist monks between monasteries ....and the 'end of discussion' quote is just sheer high handed arrogance.

  32. Have passed this on and gellions say you are all welcome on their busses. And welcome to sing and have as much fun as you want. Not sure if there is anything sorted for this sat but they are going to try and sort things out. If all the boys move over to gellions bus could get a regular one organised.

  33. But unless you have some insider knowledge that you are not sharing, you don't even know who issued the alleged ban. You also admit that you don't know what the ban is for. For their part, the youngsters have claimed their ban is because they were singing and throughout this lengthy thread, nobody has given any indication that it was for anything else. But despite all of this you have come to the conclusions that the youngsters deserve to be banned simply because you trust the decision makers! Are you the only person on here who can't see what an appallingly prejudiced attitude that is? I seem to recall that Neville Chamberlain once trusted the Nazis and that led to a bit of a stooshi as well. Rather than write yet another post on here, it would be helpful if you could get in touch with your honourable chums in CJT and ask one of them to tell us what actions they have taken and why.

  35. I notice some others have had a go at Pat Nevin, and quite rightly so. At one point he said something like 'if it stays eleven against eleven, Celtic are gonnae win.' I seem to remember in the highlights programme after the Big Cup semi final, he said almost exactly the same about our win over Celtic, referring, of course, to Craig Gordon's sending off. Bitter and repetitive, it seems.

  36. I really think there's more than a little difference between Roy MacGregor and Brooks Mileson in terms of financial assets, business acumen and vision for a football club. And yes, you are right that ICT has indeed benefited over the years from "financial help". Had it not been for the intervention of David Sutherland in 2000, God knows what financial fate would have befallen the club with its £2M+ of unsecured debt - and that's before you consider the construction of the stands to allow SPL football to return to Inverness and the purchase of around £500,000 of shares. "Share purchase" in football, by the way, simply equates to the word "donation", albeit with possible fringe benefits which include a degree of control over the club. And there are plenty of others who fall into that category at ICT. After all, the 570,000 shares which have recently been transferred to the Hospice represent £570,000 "invested" (such a daft word to use in a football context) by Sandy Catto and Ian Fraser before him. Then there's also the Muirfield Mills share uptake/donation and a few others on a smaller scale. So it's really a matter of degree and Caley Thistle would no more be where it is today than Ross County if these clubs had had to rely entirely on their earnings without help from the donations of wealthy individuals. Football's nonsensical wage structure (and they don't come much more nonsensical than one or two in the Highland League) can only be sustained by people who are prepared to give away money to clubs. As for Ross County reaching this final, I for one am delighted. You only have to look at this morning's back pages and also remember the decades that the Highlands were frozen out of the national game for that to be the only sensible response, irrespective of which side of the Firth you support. As was the case when ICT turfed Celtic out of the Scottish Cup last season, the back page headlines and much of what runs below them are (with the honourable exception of the Daily Star no less!) fundamentally about losers Celtic when they should be about winners Ross County. These publications' only concern is about inserting themselves firmly up the collective backside of the Old Firm, so indignation levels are running very high this morning - especially since it's another Highland club which has disturbed the West Central belt established order. This should, however, come as no surprise to us up here since the parochial kailyard which is central Scotland has been treating the Highlands with contempt for centuries. So if, on 13th March after a final against another failed and over privileged central Scottish club, it emerges that between them these Highland teams have reached four major national finals in six years and won two of them, I for one will be very happy indeed that it has been got right up the central belt, and in particular its Old Firm establishment, in this way.

  38. There seems to be an unfortunate assumption here that everyone who needs to be informed of this meeting subscribes to social media. It's a bit like putting an ad solely in the Daily Star or similar. By the way, how many choruses of "Scots Wha Hae" and "Flower Of Scotland" did Young Team members get through on the Gelluns bus yesterday... and how many of them got banned for singing "There'll Always Be An England"?

  39. Firstly I wish to state I have a couple of close friends who are board members of CJT and I don't want to be seen as having a 'rant' at them but personally I can't just 'put this situation to bed' so to speak. The events of this past week have left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I feel there is to many pressing questions which need answered. Going by that brief statement from CJT earlier, it would make you think everything is now hunky-dory, but quite frankly I think it's a sham and I'm not prepared to sit back, kow tow and take it as Gospel. After speaking to one of the lads who attended tonight's meeting, its become clear that part of the 'problem' on the Stirling trip was indeed singing....... But also some of the group were standing during the journey...... How this warrants an immediate ban, I just do not know!! Personally throughout this week I was thinking, the lads must have been drinking or something. But no! The serious offence committed was standing and singing.... It has also come to my attention that only 4 boys turned up to the meeting tonight (out of 30 something I believe were banned?). Frankly this doesn't surprise me and from what I've been hearing the vast majority of lads are feeling very dissolution about the whole saga and not only did not turn up tonight, but are not interested in tomorrow's game either. I will be deeply saddened if these lads don't come back, ever! But who would blame them after the way they have been treated this past week. For this Clubs sake, I hope the news of a more frequent Gellions Bus tempts them to come back, but i suppose its just a case of wait and see. However the main point which has really angered me tonight is that the 4 boys who were in attendance tonight and showed willingness to meet, have been told that there might not be enough space on the bus for them tomorrow. Its a case of turning up to the stadium at 10 am and waiting to see if no-one else turns up so they can get their seats.......Sorry but this is an absolutely disgraceful way to treat any loyal supporter of this club. So much so that 2 of the 4 lads have decided to just forget about tomorrow. So instead of 30 odd boistrous and vocal young fans turning up and cheering on the team in what is a crucial game in defending our trophy, only 2 will be going. That is of course if by chance there is any seats left on the bus. What a shambolic mess!! All because they were standing and singing on the bus to Stirling......And if it turns out that the team are defeated tomorrow and the team felt there wasn't enough backing from the fans, well the blame quite frankly lies at the door of CJT and the poor handling of this situation. Please believe me when i say It saddens me to the core to say that, because CJT and the Supporters Trust before them have in general been true ambassoders for this club. The card display at Hampden, the ticket allocation at LC Final, the many times we needed transport to semi finals or finals with stupid KO times couldn't have been done without them!! But the handling of this week and the poorly written statement re: Pyro a couple weeks back have sadly alienated a large section of our support, a section which is mainly made up of young/loyal/committed supporters who are essential to the future of this Club. Way to go CJT. Before I close I wish to ask a few questions. who was the person that sent that text earlier in the week to the lads, demanding that they were to be banned and that there was to be no further discussion about it. Are they a CJT board member? If so they should be struck off! Had he shown a little more wisdom none of this would have happened. I dont want some petty jobsworth who acts out with a knee-jerk reaction to be the 'voice' of our support. Why if the 'problem' was on the weekend of Stirling Away was it not dealt with immediately after that weekend? That game was 4 weeks ago. Had this all been sorted out then, we might actually be seeing more young fans at Well tmo and not expecting the farcical situation of 2 young lads turning up at the stadium not knowing if they can go to the game or not. And lastly, what will CJT be doing in the coming weeks to ensure that all 30odd lads are made to feel welcome at TCS and away games? I cannot stress enough how these guys are the future of this club and if this is dealt badly now, could have serious ramifications in years to come! I close by stating that famous, elequent but simple quote by Jock Stein "Football without Fans, is Nothing". Please please please, no-one should ever forget that!

  44. Why do folk assume the ICT statement 'puts this to bed'? A case of believing what you want to read? Is the dialogue from Pittodrie less worthy? The ICT statement is using 'woolly language' to deflect this - its intention being to close the matter. But, why should ICT's 'reaction' be more believable than that being stated from Aberdeen? Derek McIness has been quoted as saying, "We wanted Greg and Greg was keen to come here but that's between the player and Inverness. I spoke to John Hughes this morning and we have acted professionally, honestly and with integrity throughout this and he agrees with that. So there's absolutely no problem from John's point of view." Why aren't folk believing that? Although it was blowing a gale that day, I'm fairly sure the managers weren't in-touch to discuss the weather! If Tansey had indicated at the first instance that he was 'happy' to stay at Inverness, this wouldn't have dragged-on until Monday night, nor required the clubs' managers to get-in-touch. Tansey is 27 now, and football is a short career - if he wasn't attracted by doubling or trebling his wages, I'd be very surprised - crikey, he's turned us down with a contract offer before - he's got 'form' here! At this stage of his career, of course he's going to go for it! Anyway: Fictional Scenario: Tam Gregsie is a shelf-stacker with Tesco at Inshes. He’s good at his job, and ambitious; To the extent that he has moved jobs before, but is now back for a second spell in Tesco - having split his spells with a stint at Sainsbury, whom he joined after rejecting a contract extension with Tesco a few years ago. Not that it matters - the shoppers are fickle and just love whoever works there without ever casting a critical eye! In the modern competitive world of grocery retail, such workers are now considered to be past-their-sell-by-date (no pun intended) by their mid-thirties...so when ASDA came calling on a head-hunting mission, 27-year-old Gregsie was naturally interested - he'd be at least doubling his wages in a job in the exact same role. ASDA wanted him to start immediately; and Tesco were all but resigned to losing one of their leading workers - so-much-so that they immediately took on two new employees in the role that Tam would be vacating. Coincidentally, on the same day, SDA sent out two employees on work experience! However, a clause in Tam's contract stipulated that hw must work two-weeks notice.... This ‘hurdle’ proved problematic and the proposed job-transfer collapsed. However, ASDA may still be interested in revisiting the Tam Gregsie option when the retail stores conduct their annual summer recruitment campaigns. Meanwhile, Tesco’s store boss took Tam into the office and explained the situation before asking him what he was going to do now - would he quit Tesco and go on the dole? No, of course not - Tam needs an income - and without having any other option, Tam stated he will, for now, be continuing to work for Tesco - and with a shrug of the shoulders stated, “yeah, boss, I’m happy to remain here (for now)” Incidentally, Tam has since sacked his Union Rep. The ICT statement (but parodied): Tesco are pleased to announce that shelf-stacker, Tam Gregsie will be available for Saturday’s stock take and beyond. ASDA made their official approach to us on Saturday evening in relation to obtaining references regarding a job offer for Tam Gregsie. This was followed by a period of activity, culminating in their final request on Monday afternoon. This was an unwelcome and late approach for a very popular and influential worker within our store. However, after meeting with Tam following the final approach, we are delighted to be assured by him that he is “happy” in Tesco and that he has elected to remain at Inshes Retail Park - and we thank Tam for his integrity, honesty and loyalty to the store. The club then informed ASDA that their final request had not been successful. In the period after ASDA making official contact with us, we were of course determined to act in the best interest of Tam and our store and we are confident that the outcome will be warmly received by our shoppers. Conclusion: The ICT wording is constructed to assume 'all is well' - wording is key (agree with DD on this) - For example, Camelot could present you with a large cheque for getting 5 numders in the National Lottery - then, interview you afterwards. You could say, “yes I’m happy with getting 5 numbers in the lottery - but obviously I’d rather have got 6!” - This could easily be reported by Camelot as stating “Mr X didn’t hit the jackpot, but he’s just told us that he’s happy getting 5 numbers” Which is totally true! But ignores the fact that he’d rather have had 6. In this context, I’ve no doubt Greg Tansey IS happy at Inverness, but that doesn’t mean he’d not rather be at Aberdeen!

Well both the "sportscenes" commentator and "open all mikes" commentator seemed to think that Motherwell should have been the team to score and that they were the better side! Whenever I listen to either, I can't help but think that the commentators are looking for reasons to slag us off! Is it just me or does anyone else think this?

      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
