  1. Our Father in heaven, Thank you for the privilege of training this team. I thank you for each player and all the great talents you have given them. Watch over them now as they compete today. Protect them from injury and fill them with strength and courage as they give of their best. Amen.

  4. Don't think it was faint today. Crowd was tremendous in it's backing of the team when they could so easily, and understandably, have gone the other way. Stepped up to the plate and showed just as much determination to fight as the players on the park did this afternoon.

  11. A good gutsy performance also a little surprised to be going in at half time 2 goals down but Dundee did have a strong wind assisting them. McCart looks a little green but its his first game, wandered a little out of position and plays the safer short pass, yet still kicks an inch perfect ball over to the line for a throw in when the ball was to be replaced. If he can pick a player or even a spot on the pitch, he will be a real asset on the counter attack with a bit more belief. 2-0 down and did the heads go down? Not at all, whats the difference? maybe, a Foran pep talk or even the fact that the only way of scoring a goal before was a long ball to Doumboya and now we have 2 very capable strikers with an abundance of options for getting the ball up the park. The boys battled hard and fought well Over all a very gutsy performance, with skill, vision and belief coming to the fore. I think I had concerns over survival after Hamilton but if we keep battling for points in every game from now on and we still have to, then were not going down. Mulrainey and Polly need to step up a gear if they want to get into that 1st 11 though. With fresh legs Polly needs to be the first one to the ball and follow through if need be instead of hesitating and backing off, regarding Jakes enthusiasm its a team game so no need to try and take out Ross Draper when going for the ball.

  12. I agree with most of the above. More fight and less predictable. Esson did not inspire confidence early on, but seemed to settle. Full backs generally ok, although Raven did cause concern with that back pass late on. Tremarco could have scored and unlucky to be booked. Warren seemed fine but McCart caused a few nervy moments and had a tough shift. In midfield, Dundee seemed to get a lot of space, but little criticism from me for Tansey or Vigurs. Both were up for it, witness Tansey's delight at scoring. Draper had a good shift including a stint up front when we were looking for the win. King had a good game and arguably our best player on the day. Anier better than last Saturday and great to have Mckay back. Very dangerous and a class above the strikers we have had for some time. Just a pity about the penalty he had saved. There were not two goals of a difference at half time, but as others have said we were slack at the second. It could have been worse, as Dundee missed some decent chances. Had our early effort off the post gone in, I believe we would have kicked on. Good showing in second half, delighted we turned it round as I would have taken a draw at half time, but I'm actually disappointed we didn't get a third. A tough month ahead, and any points in the next three league games may be a bonus, but I'm more hopeful than of late. It was great to hear more positivity and singing from the crowd than at most games this season too. We can still get out of this pickle!

  13. So much more movement today amazing the space Mckay and Anier created bringing other players into the game . A decent performance although think the Dundee goals should have been defended a lot better. Best game I have seen Billy King play but MoM was David Raven although he could so have easily ballsed it up at the end. 2600 in attendance including a couple of 100 from Dundee is pretty poor turn out ,thought we had at least 2500 Season ticket holders

  14. First quarter of the match or so really had me believing. Ultimately both sides had chances and on balance can't complain with a draw at the end of the day, however disappointing it may seem. We seem to have a major issue with out defence. Brad definitely had a bad game last weekend but for me McCart was way worse and I really hope Brad/Josh is back next week. Yes McCart is young and short of match time, but his positioning, passing and ball winning was poor. Hopefully with time he'll come good, but in meantime subs bench imo. Esson was rusty for sure, goal number 2 seemed to go through the legs of Warren (?) then a defender plus Esson, all of whom looked to be in the line of the ball and goal. Kicking was poor (never his forte) but overall no worse than OFW in recent games, but certainly no better. Warren still seems to be below the levels of performance we know of old. Vigurs fairly stepped up, asserted himself physically from the start. Draper had a good game, Tansey was up a notch from recent performance although still not back to his best (tremendous finish for his goal) and Billy King was my motm. Anier was quietly effective without attracting headlines, and my goodness, I can't put into words how great it is to see Billy Mckay back. Showed exactly what we've been missing, hopefully in time he'll develope a dangerous relationship with Anier. Sadly keeper sussed him for second penalty - Billy waited til he made his move for first but keeper guessed correctly that he'd do exact same for second and saved easily, no pace on it. Bit disappointed to see that Tansey is dropped as penalty taker after a tremendous record with just one miss, Billy - like Rooney - had awful record with penalties for us, despite fantastic scoring stats otherwise. Plenty of positives overall but still loads to improve on and still don't know best team. Midfield and front line look like they could be OK as long as confidence stays up but defence is a worry. not a great run of games coming up but then again these are historically the ones where we unexpectedly pick up more points than forecast!

  20. It's getting to the stage where we need other teams to help out. Ideal for us today would be wins for Hearts, Aberdeen, Rangers and ourselves of course, with probably a draw between Accies and Killie and St Johnstone beating Celtic tomorrow. Let's do this with a little help from our friends as Joe Cocker would have said....

  28. Richie's last strart was the cup game against Hibs which was if I recall his first game in almost a year then and he was utter mince, I'm sure in the last 9 months with next to no training or game time I hardly think he will be our saviour. If anything he needs to be phoning and talking to any experienced manager or coaching contacts he has to try figure out how to defend and improve the playing style.

  29. Assuming fit is this who we have? Foran Gary Warren Ross Draper Owain Fon Williams Liam Polworth Scott Boden Esson Meekings? Aaron Doran Raven Vigurs Mulraney Tremarco Tansey Horner?? McNaughton? King Sutherland Mackay Fisher Brad Mckay Cole Anier . Esson Raven Mcart Mckay Tremarco Doran Fisher Foran Draper Cole . . Billy Mckay Philosophy is akin to when Scotland ground out results against better teams under Walter Smith. Wingers stay wide. If you insist Foran won't play himself, then Sutherland starts for me instead. Great wee player from what I've seen and not shy at workrate, maybe a bit light but merits a start at least. Possible replacement in Anier.

  30. We are the traditional slow starters remember. We are going to beat Dundee when we need it most. We have 15 Games still to go in the league and none of the bottom 7 are running away from us to quickly. We just need a wee bit of luck.....Nick Ross own goal double? Billy to start scoring on his homecoming? I BELIEVE. Keep dreaming we will be the first domestic team to beat Celtic this season too, although would rather the league than cup tbh - 1 nil by the way.

  32. my son and I are first time season ticket holders and do try to sing along with the young team, but it really surprises me that most don't bother, but in fact boo every miss placed pass or tackle, we all need to get behind the lads, hopefully if we can provide some atmosphere on Saturday they might just feed off it!

  33. Based on the poll about management we should definitely be keeping our shoes on. We as a majority are backing the manager and let that sound loud and clear. We are not at crisis point yet and we are all trying to live on a small budget to be sustainable. Keep believing, imagine ourselves pulling out of this situation and how daft you might feel calling for the managers head having escaped relegation. No team EVER escaped relegation by negativity, so keep the head up and dont forget that. Any business that survives adversity visualised itself in that position of better times. Think of the euphoria of winning the playoff. Positive and passionate grit is a very dangerous weapon indeed, so lets use it when we are given the chance.

  34. We can win this game I have confidence, but we need to get the ball down and play. Think one of best post's recently was that RF was trying to hard to win games, I can see what they were saying. There is no need to get the ball forward quickly all of the time, have a bit of patience. To be fair Tuesday was a complete nightmare, maybe even a wee bit of a fluke result on Hamilton's part. Although we haven't been winning we haven't been turned over regularly either, most games we have lost are by the odd goal. Cut out the errors and we will get 3 points on Saturday and RF can at last enjoy a Saturday night.

  35. Agree. Much happier to be vocal in voicing their disapproval of individual or collective mistakes, but less willing to stand up and sing-on the boys. I've a feeling I'm going to have to not sit in my normal seat, as I could be swinging for the old codgers behind me with their tutting and sighing!!! I don't know if it's to do with the level of conviction, but the away support is generally more fair and consistent and encouraging on the whole. and it boggles my mind that 200 of us can create just as good an atmosphere and noise as 3000?! too many "sweetie rustling happy clappers"? well, even those sweetie rustlers need to get off their collective erses on Saturday and get behind our boys!!! MON CALEY EH?!!!!

  36. Losing the early (or at least first goal) is a MASSIVE issue for us. We've conceded the opening goal in a staggering 74% of our matches this season and have been in a losing position at half time in over 60% of our games so far. We're being outscored by a factor of 2:1 in the first half. Unfortunately as soon as something goes wrong the fans are on top of the players and seldom get behind them. Obviously some of the stuff served up recently has been mince but it is a bit disappointing that some seem to be more than willing to be vocal in their criticism but seldom give the same amount level of support to the team.

  37. Im actually feeling a bit more upbeat today and believe we can turn this around. Richie has now joined the rest of us in realising we are in a fight. No more top 6 mentions. Lets hope everyone can pick themselves up, roll up their sleeves and work hard to get us out of this mess!

  38. Remember that Hughes took over when we were flying in 2nd place. He left us 5 places lower. During his tenure Ross, G Shinnie, Watkins, Vincent, Mckay, Devine, Williams and Christie left. Can you name any outfield players he signed who have remained for Foran to work with and who could be regarded as replacements of equal or better quality? (Keeper excepted OFW in, Brill out - much of a muchness). This despite the significantly higher player budget than Butcher had. Don't get me started about the style of play. Last season was the most boring football I have seen anywhere, any time.

  39. Definitely going to go. On the bright side, if there's a poor turnout from ICT, I doubt if it'll be much of a draw for Celtic fans either (albeit probably more will come from the Highlands to support them tan ICT). Big empty spaces in the stands. Might help us, more used to playing in ghostly empty stadiums, rather than them. It's my straw and I'm clutching it.

  44. OFW's form is very concerning he certainly doesn't look like an international over the last few games but I suppose he's been affected badly by what's going on in front of him I would imagine a fair amount of that euros would have ended up with him but any cash injection no matter how small is very welcome at the moment considering attendances are down and hence match day income is on the decline Dougal

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.
