  1. Baird may not (yet) be finding the net, but he puts in a power of work and deserves credit for contributing to the team's overall performance.

  2. Yes Sat in the main stand today for the first time in a long while and was a bit bewildered at why the unwarranted criticism of Polly. His work rate is one of the best his play is one of the best and yes sometimes he misses a pass or mis controls the ball but he has the passion the drive and the skill.

  3. It's taken a while to become evident but it looks like there might well be a positive legacy to Foran's time in charge in the form of Jake Mulraney. He frustrated for the whole of the season and at the start of this but John Robertson has managed to get him playing to his potential. If we continue to play like this and Doran comes back anything like his former self, we might just shake up this division after all despite our dismal start. Away to an in form Livingston will be another stern test but one we are well capable of passing.

  4. A great 3 points and another good performance and clean sheet. Before we played the last 3 games I didn't think we would get any points and we ended up with 7 from 9, a great return. Conner Bell must be the find of the season. Robbo has found a formation and turned things around and we are starting to climb the league. Well done Robbo and the team.

  5. That's the most enjoyable game of football I've witnessed at the TCS for a long time, the change in attitude and aptitude was incredible from the QOS game. There was rarely a moment where we gave in and I'm amazed we didn't finish that at least 3-0. Our defence was rock solid, our midfielders show great composure and skill to feed the forwards and apart from Baird the chances just kept looking like going in. A massive amount of positives to take from that and the boys should be immensely proud of their achievement today. Great to see a pretty decent turn out too

  6. In successive weeks we have beaten two sides in the top four who had previously beaten us (in the Pars case convincingly) kept our 5th clean sheet in a row, and seem to have found both attacking threat and a solid back line....progress in anyone's book. Bell rapidly becoming a bit of a hero? I'm up (and buzzing) for the Livingston match next week which I have a good feeling about...it'll certainly give us a hint of whether a run to the play-offs is a possibility (it's a long season I know!)....crowd of near 3000 as well. And my weekend was made all the more happy by a 97th minute equaliser for my other team

  7. A fair enough observation but let's concentrate on the positives and, right now, there seem to be more of those with every passing week.

  8. More about the fact strachan doesnt like small players.

  9. Unfortunately we do have a few knuckle draggers in the stands whom make it their responsibility to pick on Vigurs or Polworth depending on the wind direction. Even the Pars seemed impressed on their forum: Topic Originator: OzPar Date: Sat 28 Oct 16:01 Mulroney and Polworth have been excellent for the highlanders and I would struggle to pick any standouts on our side.

  11. Great going home after that performance today a credit to Robbo and the whole team who all put in a great shift today The only complaint I had today was the referee and stand side assistant who were ******* awful although it's not so bad when you get the 3 points!

  12. Robbo you 'have said it all, full marks to you for pulling this team together and instilling spirit. full marks too to the team for accepting responsibility and adding purpose to your play. What a joy that was today, nail biting towards the end but determination shone through. Gordon Strachan take note two best players on the field today Bell and Mulraney, Giants amongst men. Special mention for Ridgers excellent performance and brought of a superb save backpeddling in a swirling wind, one of the most difficult saves to make . Yes well done to the whole squad you are now doing us proud, thank you.

  13. I really enjoyed the match. A team performance against a good Dunfermline side. I wouldn't worry about the argument between Polworth and Baird. They both show passion and want to win. Great build up for the goal, with Mulraney involved again and Bell deserved the man of the match award. Sone unfair criticism of a Vigurs from some around me, but his class is showing. Donaldson is a find at the back, and his passion and enthusiasm at full time shows he wants to succeed and he team to do well. Perhaps not as dominant as last weekend, but overall a comfortable win. 8 points from last 4 league games. 5 unbeaten including the cup. 5 clean sheets. It could and should have been more, with at least three penalty claims turned down, Baird missing a sitter and Polly hitting the woodwork, but we closed the game out and won. Up to seventh, hopefully more climbing to come!

  15. Are we allowed to call this a run now? A few weeks ago I don't think anybody could see anything but three heavy defeats coming, instead we get 7 points out of 9 and extend the clean sheets to 5 in a row! Outstanding transformation, there's obviously some great work going on in the background from everyone! Well done chaps, tough one coming at Livi next week so more of the same please

  17. First time in a good while that I've left the ground with a warm glow, spring in step. Solid, assured performance.Robbo has found a set-up that works. Well done to him and all the lads! Just wish we'd been more clinical with 2nd half chances that would have taken a little pressure off the old ticker! Couldn't resist a little celebratory flurry in the club shop afterwards.

  18. The players and staff have responded to the criticism... Which was merited. Fans who pay their entrance every week or fork out for a season ticket have every right to let their feelings be known.

  19. Hard to believe after the team and Polworths performace someone should pick on this. No mention of some of the terrific forward balls, hold up play a distribution including the link up play sending mulraney off like a rocket. A terrific team performance, every player put in a great shift.

  20. stick it to em Robbo ????

  21. Absolutely, he has them playing as a team and with confidence. How many times did the defence hold up the ball and play it forward rather than punt it?

  22. Very good performance and it's great to see the "no such thing as a lost cause" attitude.

  23. I thought he was excellent today, especially in the first half. Also he was very quick to refocus the team following the goal

  24. Loving this impenetrable defence: where did that come from and what happened to the shambles of just a few games ago. You’ve got to hand it to Robbo - it is not easy to stop the rot, but he’s managed it!

  25. The enigma was the way he was treated...

  26. Time to rename this thread. Vigurs is not an enigma, he's our best player.

  27. Good to see Vigurs deservedly being in the SPFL team of the week for the performance at Tannadice.

  28. Too far away for me to predict but.......I think the home crowd may be very good in the light of the recent performances, there seems to be a real gelling of the team. Mulraney's confidence soaring , etc.. Looking forward to it. P.S. Great highlights, Manfer, of the Dundee United game. Thanks for the reminder about the highlights being on the Report on a regular basis.

  29. I seem to recall, when we were last in this league, we were 15 points adrift of top spot around Xmas time. At the moment we are two points better off just now - only 13 points adrift.

  32. The chant "you're only singing when you're winning," comes to mind. There may have been legitimate cause for concern but calling for the sacking of a new manager of a newly relegated team with little budget after a few games? It's like some people expect results and when it doesn't happen, players get abuse shouted at them, the team gets boo-ed and everyone takes offence like JR had taken a **** in their dinner! Absolutely. It's now really important that the home support get behind the team next week and not resort to shouting abuse etc

  33. Seriously!!. The plain fact is that our level of performance in most games was not as bad as some people thought but individual errors were costing us. These errors are being hugely reduced and confidence is returning to the team. Confidence, more than anything else, has made the difference, not what you have stated.
    1 point
  34. Not sure it would be as simple as that, who would replace him? How long would they get? JR took over at a very difficult time and he didn't bring a magic wand. The confidence of the remaining team was shot to bits, battle weary from relegation and headless chicken management. Players were brought it on a small budget so it will take time to turn things around. Hopefully the last two games are something to work on and gain some traction.

  35. I'm sure he would have taken the job on with his eyes open, but still doesn't change the facts...

  36. Yes. The fact he's been at County has nothing to do with it.

  37. The stats above make for intersting reading better all round player then tansey or draper is my interpratation but one stat missing would be km covered. However if you have the ball and can pass it to a teammate, why do you have to run aboot? Think sometimes he is singled out because we have all seen the range of clever touches/passes he can produce and expect it all the time. If we can keep him, I'm expecting this will be a big season for Iain at ICTFC.

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
