There are no rules but if a mod locks the thread then it shall be deemed an abuse of power and he/she shall forever be ridiculed in my siggy

Should the thread be reopened? Was Don's actions an abuse of power? Did Don's closure of the thread show him up as foolish especially given that his closing of the thread was predicted on page 1?

*disclaimer this thread and poll are done with tongue firmly in cheek.

I just feel sorry for all the people who have vastly improved their post count on that thread as they will just have to post their rubbish on the other threads.

Agreed, there was a couple inparticular where it was just getting cringeworthy. Well done CaleyD for shutting that garbage done....shoulda been done long ago I reckon.

Guys do you not think that if people want to muck about posting rubbish then they should have that opportunity? You know what the thread is about but still you decided to open it to see what had been posted, you let it annoy you, why? Are you looking for reasons to get upset with people? Are you looking to berate your fellow forum members for having a bit of fun which you were not obliged to become involved in? I think you have issues.

I happen to think that mixing up the words "done" and "down" is cringe worthy. Do you really feel the need to exact your revenge on these forums because 90% of your posts are notable for their cringeworthyness and folks revel in the delight of letting you know exactly how much?

I fell sorry for people who truly believe that post counts actually matter.

I feel really sorry for those who think anything in "general nonsense" matters.

We have all heard the tragic news about GJ's mum and I myself have just returned from a hastily arranged (ie. urgent) trip to the UK to comfort an ill relative yet it seems incredulous that a thread that was garbage from start to finish is the major point of relevance/importance on here right now.

I may be in a less than happy mood - in fact I know I am - but please folks can we step back for a second, look around us and actually contemplate the things in life that actually DO have relevance. I will give you a clue ... it is NOT starting another round of front or back seat moderating, it is not another round of pettiness or back-biting, and it is not the level of childishness or one-upmanship I have seen in numerous posts I have read since yesterday. In fact, over the last 10 days, I would say that an Internet forum is one of the last things that held any relevance to me at all.

I am not up to speed on any incidents or arguments that may have happened in the last 10 days when I was away and I have no interest in having them explained to me... from either side of the argument. I will not be reading all the posts from that period of time nor will I or am I pointing fingers at anyone in particular. I just detect a a nasty tone in the air and want to give fair (pre-)warning that on a personal level I am not in the mindset to tolerate it.

that is my rant over (for now)

I wouldn't say 90% of my posts are cringeworthy. Most are well thought out, factfull posts all in all topped off with a big dollop of common sense.

Calm down Scotty and read the last line of my original post.

I saw Don's thread closure as banter and thought that I might have a wee banter back

Can see where Scotty's coming from, but I saw the thread as a bit of light-hearted fun for some, and pointless for others (myself included).

Don't see any reason to close it, let the happy posters post their p!sh if they like, unless Don really wanted to win that much.. :cute01:
