weel if mrs p can do it, so can i lol

i wrote this last week - enjoy

A year

This is the season for changing of leaves

Falling gracefully from the trees

Reds and browns and yellows too

Then into November there's lots to do

Bonfires are built and skies alight

With fireworks all majestic and bright

Crackling food and swirly tapers

As we stride on to December capers

Frost on your nose and snow underfoot

Thick woolly socks in wellington boots

Bright coloured baubles and evergreen trees

January sales ease the winter freeze

Gloves and scarves all wrapped up tight

Early mornings and quicker dark nights

More snow is falling and there?s a chill in the air

But February brings love, warmth and care

Romantic evenings and gourmet delights

Angels and sledges and snowball fights

Spiders webs and snowdrops growing

March is the month for egg rolling

Yellow ribbons and soft downy chicks

Chocolate galore and licking your lips

The jumpers are off and the heating turned down

As April appears and the rain comes down

Brollies and puddles and splashes galore

Raindrops and toads and cats all the more

No sign of sunshine makes you feel down

When May wanders by to turn up your frown

Spring in the air and lavender fields

Buttercups opening and buzzing bees yield

Their golden delight in the hive soon

And ready for your toast in the month of June

Church bells ring out as maidens are wed

With smiles and tears and not a word said

Cameras clicking and rice on the ground

July is the month when summer comes round

Lotion and beach towels and sand in your toes

Giggling children with ice cream on their nose

Candy striped rock and trips to the zoo

August is busy for the football fans? view

White cotton hankies and deckchairs on beaches

Pebbles and crabs and snails and leeches

Photos developed of foreign climes

And into September for the very first time

The sunshine has mellowed to a warm evening glow

Under the stars and the fire is low

A blanket, some beer and hot food at its best

Is all that?s required for an October-fest

Well Buffy, I like your poem.  I did actually think that Yngwie's response was quite humorous, albeit a bit unsensitive.  Hope he's coming up at the weekend and you can sort him out yourself in the Innes.  I'm sure he'll be happy to buy you a drink for your double celebration.  :001:

I found this beautiful winter poem and thought it might be a comfort to you.

It was to me, and it's very well written.
