Some business aquaintances and myself are planning on having an 'event' this summer (probably in August) in the Inverness area. I've been wanting to organise a 'Highland's Strongest Man' comp (although folk from anywhere can enter) for some time and the event will be based around this. The event will raise money for various local charities. However, I do realise that strongman is quite a minority sport and we're trying to think of other popular events that we can have running at the same time to attract more punters.

So my question is, what sort of other activities (that can he held in a field!) would people be willing to come and see? Also, we'd be looking for sponsorship from local businesses/ organisations. We have a few agreed in principal so far but would like ideas for who else it might be worth approaching.

Cheers,

Hamish

Zorbing would be pretty cool, and you'd have no bother finding a field that slopes!  :003:

I have never heard of zorbing, much less know what it is!  :001: Can you elaborate? However, for strongman a flat field is almost essential.

zorbing is someone (or 2 close friends!) harnessed inside a huge inflatable ball and rolled downhill - or downwater - I've always fancied a go and it would be great fun going down the river in one :003:
