Kelty/ Is this a joke - merged thread

Club Statement
As one major part of our planned strategic restructure of the club, ICTFC are delighted to announce an innovative agreement with League 1 side Kelty Hearts which will see the club move our training base to the Fife club’s New Central Park Stadium.
This creative partnership will mean that we will hire their excellent facilities which include a 3g pitch, onsite grass pitches and offices for our coaching staff, as our training base during the week starting from this coming pre-season in June.
The last few years have seen the geographic challenges in getting players to move to the Highlands become ever harder for a number of reasons.
Caledonian Stadium will always be our home, but other factors in Scottish football have changed and where we train should not be an impediment to the quality of the players we can attract to Caley Thistle, or to our potential to progress.
The commercial success of the city of Inverness – which will always be our home - both as a tourist destination and a place to live, has led to very high prices for the accommodation we require to house players. In addition to these high costs which our competitors do not carry, the extremely limited housing stock in Inverness continues to be both a challenge and a huge factor working against us.
Increased playing budgets in and around the central belt has meant that on many occasions, even when we have offered players more favourable terms than our competitors, sometimes even agreed deals, we have then been told that the player has changed his mind due to challenges relocating their families. Support structures in and around the families of players may all be in and around the central belt, partners will have jobs where they live and moving kids schools to the Highlands and moving home itself can just be seen as impractical for a one or two year contract.
It makes it particularly challenging for us to sign senior players, a category which through no fault of our budget, or of previous ICT Managers, we have struggled to attract in the last few seasons.
Similarly, our location means that we miss out on the opportunity of signing promising players from the larger clubs in Scotland, on loan or otherwise.
For the avoidance of any doubt we absolutely intend to continue to develop our own homegrown Highland boys and we will take the appropriate steps to make sure that by being creative, innovative and practical, they do not miss out on the chance to have a pathway to first team football with their team. We have a proud tradition of introducing local players in to our first team and this will absolutely continue.
We obviously never intended to be in the same division as Kelty when originally exploring this concept, but football throws strange things at you sometimes and having reassessed the proposition and judged that the pros still far outweigh the cons, we would like to thank the Board of Kelty Hearts and MD Stefan Winiarski and his management team for considering this unique to the SPFL partnership, and then seeing and agreeing on the possibilities and benefits for both clubs.
To reiterate, by moving our footballing department's training base to central Scotland, both the club's Board of Directors and the club's First Team Management feel we give ourselves the best possible chance to attract the highest quality players to the club, allowing some of the players we sign to also live in and around the central belt while playing for ICTFC.
We now look forward to taking further positive strides on and off the pitch to address the football and financial challenges we face we believe this exciting opportunity to help us attract players previously not available to us and build a better squad, is one of the first steps we can make and we hope to develop further innovative partnerships.
Inverness is and will always be our home.
The Caledonian Stadium will always be where we play our football. We hope this venture will help us achieve our goal in giving our supporters a team to be proud of.

It’s not sniping…….its an observation that the Trust aims & ambitions don’t seem to have any detail on the mechanics of how to collate the opinions of the fans they represent. The match day survey was a good initiative, is that the means to gather wider opinion? If so you don’t need to be a Trust member necessarily. I may become a Trust member, but when I hear others say they have information from the Club to allay fears and then fail to pass that on, or even explain why they can’t, I have trouble trusting the Trust.

I don't think there is anything suggesting the Trust are untrustworthy? There is no evidence that they areknow much more than us? I know we are all fed up and impatient but all of this is on the club? The silence is deafening! As for joining I'd ask you to do so as numbers are definitely power going forward

Let's hope that tomorrow we have some sort of clue as to who might be actually playing for us next season and whether Dunc is returning. Without any sort of background information this will just explode our frustration yet again - but I'm not holding my breath 🫣

I've had and still have some concerns with the supporters trust but some of the recent comments on this thread are a bit out of order.

If they have agreed to receive information in confidentiality then I don't think they should be sharing it.  It would have been good to get a bit more on what kind of assurances they had received along with the statement that was a complete u-turn on the feeling of fans at the most recent meeting even if that didn't have any detail.

They may currently find themselves stuck between a rock and a very hard place.  Their encouraging of fans to spend money with the club on season tickets and merchandise might also come back to bite them and ruin their standing with fans.Their total silence since that statement is also concerning.  All that said I don't think it's right to be intimating they can't be trusted.  Noting has happened to justify that.

I fall in the camp of people still refusing to buy my season ticket or any merchandise but I also hope the supporters trust were right to back a call to do so.

All fans want the same thing even if we might disagree on the way we go about it.  The last thing we need is to be divided and fighting among ourselves.

Well, The Trust are in the Courier now stating they haven't seen any progress since being given assurances almost two weeks ago.

That is hugely worrying and disheartening.

The board were clearly content to let the club wither, that much is clear, but now they seem to be signing the DNR form.

Why won't they constructively work towards a transition to new ownership given their "cry for help"?.

They must have their motives.

As someone suggested earlier, it does smack of petulance.

But I can't help wondering now, would it be to the advantage of certain individuals if the club were to be wound up?

Can they just, metaphorically, take the money and run?

On a slightly different note, has anyone heard anything r.e. player sponsorships? Sponsored Niko this/last season, but haven't got a slice of information since Keith emailing me the confirmation email back in October

No. But as long as a certain individual remains in the building won’t be sponsoring anyone.

I so wish we knew exactly when SG  D Day is . I would so have loved a countdown clock to start the party . 🥂💥🥂💥🥂

So that's another week gone with no further update about what is happening at the club. And it is 2 weeks since we were told about "hugely positive discussions with a number of potential investors".  I thought it had been mentioned somewhere that the deadline for getting audited accounts to Companies House was 30th June, but seeing as the 30th is on Sunday, the effective deadline would have been today.  Can anyone clarify?

No idea there DD but like yourself and many other supporters of the club we are getting totally pi**ed off with the way we their customers have been treated not to mention those employed at the club in a football or support function.  The staff are kept in the dark as well.  I know they are unable to say who might be involved but a simple press release would help but it seems those involved with the club are incapable of doing so!  Not a penny more from me till we hear something positive :frustrated01:

if the intention is to file electronically then they sould still be okay to be filed right up to the actual deadline as they are date/time stamped by the software.

Assuming a third party is submitting them on the clubs behalf then you assume there has been dialogue this week to ensure the submission will take place within the timeline.

That said If the club has also gone radio silent with the accountancy firm then they will be in limbo if whatever triggered the extension hasn't now been reconciled.

This will also be the same with Lewis Hyde and Roddy Macgregor?  Incompetent or what?

Also interestingly says agreement not fee...

Would there even have been an agreement, if he was out of contract and not offered a new one? Or is this simply more deception from the club?

My understanding is that if the club offered the lads new contracts and they still wanted to leave then a development fee is triggered due to being u24. If these lads left for nothing then it’s another embarrassing situation

Perhaps the situation was that with the threat of administration hanging over us at that time and no rescue deal on the table, we were simply unable to offer contracts at that time. Unlawful trading.

Still doesn’t explain the club’s slightly misleading statement- although reading it again it says undisclosed transfer agreement, which is true, rather than undisclosed transfer fee. Big difference.

Disappointing but not unexpected. I always thought the development fee was waived when transferring across the border though, is this not the case?

The deadline was Friday 31st May and as I write, 29 days later, there is still no sign at Companies House. The original deadline was 29th February but a three month extension to 31st May was obtained by the device of a one day alteration to the accounting period.

The deadline of this Friday, 5th July, for issuing notice of an AGM is also imminent. The company’s Articles of Association state that there must be no more than 15 months between AGMs and that the notice period is 21 days. The last one was on 26th April 2023 which means that the deadlines for the next are notice by July 5th for a meeting on July 26th. (FYI - the last one was subject to a deadline of 21st December 2022 so was over 4 months late. This means that the company has held just one AGM since September 2021.

What are the rules, does it have to be an offer on the same wage or higher to trigger the development fee or can it be less than the players current contract thats due to run out?

If the later then surely regardless of situation you offer something to trigger the fee should it come to that. Either it's a lack of care or lack of understanding the laws of governance in the game.

I'm happy to be stood corrected as I'm sure someone will know the ruling better than my understanding.

I am told it needs to be the same or more as on previously? Surely a conversation could have been had as I doubt he was staying anyway?

Pretty sure you can't just offer a derisory contract to a young player which a club doesn't want to keep in oder to activate a development fee just by 'ticking the contract on the table box'. There will likely be criteria around the level of terms, which given our situation the club may not have been in a financial or legal position to meet.

The Club it seems is truly skint! No board member is putting in any cash and no other income stream coming in. The money for where we finished in the league would have been very small and probably already used up.   The now Ex Chairman was keeping things afloat financially, but he has now gone along with his money. With that being the case it must only be season ticket sales that are paying wages for the players & staff etc. If no new investment is found soon, surely the club don’t have the ability to function much longer ??????? don’t know how many season tickets have been sold, but with the Trust now advising against buying them, surely it’s only a matter of time before we go bust !!!!!! Perhaps there is investment coming, but when and how much to clear debt and move forward. It’s really the only reason we have young (cheap), players in our current squad. I don’t think the Kelty move would have really sorted out the financial predicament!

That's my feeling too. I think we are still in danger of going out of business. The Kelty idea was sold so badly. I don't think the fanbase would have United in the same way had they explained how exactly it would have worked and how it saved money? I wouldn't have gone with it regardless I don't think but others probably would have?
