I would like to see Danny Williams start as an out and out wide man rather than a a central midfielder. Think he is much better there and I don't think he was that bad today.
  2. Well, I for one am no happy about that performance. Another game where we went across the park or backwards. WTF, we needed a goal yet took our time to build attacks, all too few of them. I thought Toby did well when he came on. We lost our main threat and supply line going forward once Watkins was kicked off the park. Billy McKay might as well be playing somewhere else as we are not giving him any supply whatsoever. He was so cheesed off he resorted to taking throw ins. I hope Hughes can sort out our free kicks and throw-ins, as they are diabolical. One point from twelve in our festive games. The sooner Scotty fecks off back to Canada the better, he's a jinx. Disgruntled

After that performance today he's had his chance for me......lack of effort against septic put on the back boiler but that today was a feckin disgrace. I'm seething......Adams must be laughing his **** off.......what a farce, motivation seriously lacking and he's hiding in the dugout and Duncan looking increasingly uneasy on the touch line. Substitutions later than Butcher and Williams still in the side.........apparently for 90 mins, did anyone notice his contribution. Nick Ross, Aaron Doran even Warren and Meekings seem to lack desire. Gone is the fierce tackling and we seem to back peddle and invite teams onto us.........and the constant back to the keeper WTF. Bottom six and even less fans order of the day me thinks!
  4. Statement for League Cup semi Final 2nd February 2014 Caley Jags Together are pleased to announce that we reached a conclusion on the semi-final saga. It’s the best deal that we could have got for our fans under the circumstances, and we’re happy to tell you that because of help given to us by the Scottish Sun, ICTFC and the SPFL we will be able to offer transport on ten D&E coaches to the game for £10 per adult and £5 per child. We plan on-board events that will make this an enjoyable trip for any Caley Thistle fan. We’re also happy to tell you that ICT fans will be allocated the famous five stand, in response to a request by the club so we will have our own end of the ground. Ticket prices are £ 20 for adult and £10 for under 16’s. Under 12’s get in for £5. This makes for a really affordable day out to help our team to their first national cup final. We’re sorry that we couldn’t change the time or the venue or get rail transport, but we do think that we got the best deal we could and now we need you to support it. Book your seat online at [email protected] or by phoning 07951309504. You can also book and pay for your seat at the CJT desk in the sports bar at the stadium at any home game up to the semi-final date. We’ll give more details nearer the time.
  5. It's quite staggering how far back we seem to have gone under John Hughes, I personally don't think it's all done to Yogi either if I'm being honest Butchers hasty and somewhat secretive departure still makes me think things were far from right despite the fact we were up there with Celtic I know I get accused of being negative at times but the amount of negativity directed by some towards Yogi is ludicrous considering he's only just in the door a matter of weeks It takes time for a new manager to gel just look at Mr Moyes at Man Utd. It's always going to be difficult for a new man to come in when that club has been doing well As for calling for his head that's madness and it won't happen as he's just been offered a 2.5year deal, I doubt we could afford to offload him anyway Dougal
  6. I have to post a bit of sympathy fer Yogi as this still feels and looks like a team in the Butcher mould and probably selected mainly by the old school. We have been hitting above our weight fer a few games which was probably noted by the Narcissist. To be fair to Yogi he is only getting to know the players. Having said that there must be a few things that are feckin obvious - and all started by Butcher. Shinnie is either a left back or a midfielder. Tremarco is a great squad player but he has not much of a clue going forward. County were in a line of teams this season who made no attempt to cover him and let him play free cos they knew he would not cause any damage. Shinnie is prone to making mistakes on his right foot or unable to deliver offensively. Raven and Shinnie is a no brainer and our central defenders would probably feckin agree. Williams is a feckin wide player not a midfielder - Draper is a fine holding midfielder but not a feckin playmaker - Toby is not up to the SPL - McKay must be so feckin fed up - Where the feck is Doran supposed to be playing and the same fer Nick Ross. Let's forget about Europe and blood Christie and Polworth. Pepper is another to give an opportunity to. The negativity on here is as bad as it ever been. We have a great chance of a cup final appearance this year. My criticism of Hughes is that he has not been more of a figure on the touch line giving peeple feckin laldy - I worry that he is being shackled - I would be shaking things up and aiming fer the cups. I actually felt that we were unlucky not to get four points over New Year. Sorry but Butcher has fecked us up by his favouritism and the only way forward is a cull !,

Can't see where you're getting that from Dougal...... Charlie's problem was the non-important games Like the time he allegedly sat with the spew bucket between his knees on the way to Fort William, a result of a night on the bevvy after being assured the game would be off.
  8. I blame Dawson for his glass half empty attitude.

To be fair, Danny has broke into the starting XI just as the team in general has started to under perform, for reasons that I cannot explain. If the whole team were firing on all cylinders, then perhaps Danny would be as well. The team in general were poor today, and Danny was one of the better players. I thought for example he performed better than Draper and Doran today, and we all know they can play very well when at their best. As a matter of fact, on reflection i'd probably say he was our best player today, albeit on a day when most players had a bad day at the office! One thing I felt lacking from todays game was players were not getting wide enough. Everything was getting clogged up in the middle. Far too many times when attacking, there'd be an empty space on the right hand side. This is where Raven is good for darting up from defence (get him back in). However it can be the perfect opportunity for Danny to show us what he's made of. Get him on the right wing for Motherwell and give him a chance.

Shinniesta's performance at Pittodrie was possibly one of the worst I have ever seen from an ICT player but by the time he left he had shown perhaps the highest level of technical skill and creativity from any ICT player I can recall watching at any level. I love him

Danny Williams has a blue tick on his twitter account. So that's something I suppose.

Look at the slagging Raven took when he started his ICT career yet he has become one of our best players when fit The lad should still be given a chance it's still early days, and like others have indicated it's maybe worth experimenting with him in other positions Dougal

think fans are being extremely harsh on the boy. yes, he doesnt have as much steal as boys like foran and draper but in todays match he was always available for the ball and spread the ball quite well. think you should get behind the boy instead of just slagging him off, must be doing wonders for his confidence

Again what the feck has the last month have to do with Hughes ?
  15. One of the most lifeless and unspirited performances. I left the stadium disgusted and embarrassed. What they heck was Hughes thinking?! Shinnie on the right ran it's course ages ago. Still no Raven. Danny Williams has done nothing since he came into the team and was utter trash yet again. Toby is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Doran has never been good on the left ever FACT. Is it just a coincide that his slump in form coincides with Butcher leaving? He doesn't look like a man who wants to be here anymore. No fight, no passion, no spirit, no hope. Hughes tactically makes Terry Butcher look like Jose Mourinho. Wrong team selection, wrong tactics, and the wrong choice as manager, on the recent showings. Things need to change and change soon. Hughes's job is not untouchable.
  16. The team today looked like they had been up partying all night and dragged onto the pitch. There was no fight in them and gave up on balls that were winnable very poor show! County were fighting for everything and deserved their win.
  17. We are missing Richie Foran ...
  18. 1 - 2 may look bad today but let me try and cheer some of you up with more important statistics ICT 27 goals 18 against 10 wins 33 points ------------------ County 19 goals 36 against 4 wins 14 points That is some good reading ;)
  19. Not placing any blame at your feet A M.
  20. Sorry, if that was in response to my previous post in particular, then I really don't see where I've laid the blame on John Hughes - in fact I made the point that we had similarly poor performances under Butcher. What I did say was that it will, obviously, fall to Hughes to try to address the poor run we're on, and I'll be interested to see how he does this. Whether it's fair or not to judge someone after such a short period in charge, (and I agree that it's not fair to publicly pre-judge someone, as some have done since the appointment was announced) people will inevitably do so, and it could also affect the players' views. Such is life.
  21. Don't decry the decriers. You say something positive about this game. I think you may struggle. Anyway at least Motherwell who we play next are on a bad run. Not, Gulp.
  22. Yes understandable but blame Butcher for unsettling a winning team don't lay the blame on Huges
  23. just how negative can people get !!! Support the team don't decry it
  24. This is alarming - how can we go from clean sheet to leaky sieve??? I would like to see Yogi spending less time praising everyone and their dog at the club, and more time concentrating on tactics and restoring our fortress ICT reputation.
  25. Sack Hughes at half time.
  26. 'Shambolic defending' according to RiG on Twitter. Not something we've seen much of this season, first half against Aberdeen apart. We need to show a lot more innovation going forward than we did against either Partick or Celtic though, or we're not going to be able to turn it round.
  27. It's what happens when you appoint a manager like hughes
  28. i would go with the same team as ubern but hopefully our qualities can shine through today. i dont think its goibg to be easy all the same as despite their position i dont think they are getting hammered in games. Dont think the crowd will be anything special today as quite a few i have spoken too are not going. is there still buses from caley club today as with the amount of alcohol in my body driving is not an option so would prefer to top up with more alcohol and take a bus. hopefully though the bus wont take as long to reach the ground as it did for tge aberdeen game. And for any youngsters reading this I am in NO way advocating the use of alcohol because drinking copious amounts inevitably leads to a majorly sore head, A lecture from the wife about being an ar$ehole when drunk followed by a days stony silence, oh the joys HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
  29. Perhaps it will help dispel the notion that some people have that for whatever reason Yogi is going to see players clamouring out of the door to get away from him. He's obviously a fairly popular gaffer with players. Someone that for the most is honest and friendly but would quickly turn nasty when required. Stokes would surely be a prime example of this. Clearly he's kept up a friendship which saw him rejoin his old loan gaffer at Hibs, when leaving Sunderland and still be friendly with him years on from then. He might be a doughnut but Hughes also managed to get the best out of him, form which earned him moves to Sunderland for £2m and the to Celtic from Hibs. Again as for signings. A striker on loan would be nice but aside from that, unless we lose anyone, or someone exceptional becomes available then there is no real demand for someone. I'd rather see our exciting crop of youngsters given a go at backing up the 1st team.

Don't give a feck what the crowd is as long as we beat the hypos.

Man up and get on with it, or pass it on to me Amrut is good stuff. Mrs Mantis and I are spending New Year in Broadford where the bar has a signed ICT top on the wall. We got back after being out all day and discovered a couple of complimentary miniatures of Drambuie in our room.

Normally don't mind Dougal's posts, but this is a poor show I would say. Charlie was probably the most accomplished player to have come out of Inverness. Maybe things could have worked out differently at Celtic, but he was a young man and there were no real precedents for making the massive switch from Inverness to a team like Celtic. Think also about the coaching and preparation Charlie worked with, which was a world away from what is in place today, and certainly would not have prepared him for the challenges of living in a new city and playing for such a big club. Anyway, unlike others he stuck with the game and went on to be as I say probably the best ever player from Inverness. More than that, he seems to have raised a fine young man, and nurtured his footballing talent to produce a player who should hopefully have a bright future. How many of us could say we have done all that and had such an impact on football in Inverness and the Highlands?
  33. In defence of the SCOTTISH Sun they promote Scottish football well. Much better than the other papers IMO. Normally a double page of our game on a Sunday and a Monday unlike the half a page the others give us.
  34. Hopefully those who have given of their time will be rewarded with a positive response from fans.

For a thread about Ryan Christie the promising youngster coming through the ranks at ICT this thread has very little about Ryan Christie the promising youngster coming through the ranks at ICT.
  38. Wait for them to try and use the disabled toilets at the next home game then jump them and flush their head in the toilet.
  39. I can't see what writing to the club's going to achieve. They have no control over individuals' ignorance. It's society to blame. Disabled parking spaces are abused all the time.
