  1. I was at the game as a neutral today, seeing as you guys knocked us out at Firhill I wanted to find out how you actually beat Celtic ;) Above is a video of the penalty I took myself, you boys will enjoy it a wee bit more than I did. Your fans were tremendous despite the stewards being dickish to you and I'll definitely head along to the final, if it's half as exciting as that then it'll be amazing no doubt.

I would just like to declare my love for Graeme Shinnie. He was outstanding today, what a performance. One of the best I have ever seen in a Caley top. A huge reason we won this game. After what he helped us achieve today and hopefully he will go on to lift the cup for ICT, he has made himself a legend at the club. Maybe an imortal legend if he lifts the trophy. When he leaves for Aberdeen he deserves a standing ovation next season when he returns to Inverness.

Three years ago we were warned by those who ought to be promoting the Scottish game that the rightful placing of the team that replaced Glasgow Rangers in the lowest tier would lead to disaster for the game. Since then we have had six national finals featuring eight different finalists with Celtic featuring in just two, precisely the same number as Aberdeen, Dundee United and ourselves with five different winners of the two competitions. The cups have never been so interesting and competitive and the finals crowds have been impressive. This season we have even had a semi serious challenge for the league which, at least in part, due to the five league points we have deprived Celtic of, is still just about live at this late stage. The great majority of clubs have reduced or eliminated their debts and are living within their means. Clubs are bringing on their own youngsters instead of importing mediocre foreign journeymen. I, for one, rather like this Armageddon. Can we please sign up for at least another three years ?
  4. Behaviour likely to deny Celtic a treble.
  5. Can't believe this is even being discussed tbh. Our players wanted Hampden yesterday and were inspired by it! Hampden it is. End of discussion for me.
  6. Big Eddie not getting the credit he deserves on here. I thought his hold up and linking play was excellent. A real handful. He may not be deadly in front of goal but he sure tucked away our 2nd. Well done big man..........you have added to our great wee team
  7. Absolutely brilliant result, made even better by the whingeing from Celtic fans about the penalty. Poor coverage on Sportsecene and Pat Nevin almost in tears as Celtic lost. As for him stating Celtic were the better team, no wonder he wears glasses. Onwards and upwards.
  8. dont worry ... if he were cited we would just employ Nadir Shifty's lawyers .....
  9. Celtic fans are all over the internet claiming 'all the big decisions' went against them. Nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, McLean bottled it for 90% of the game and gave the Celtic fans every single decision they appealed for. Some of the soft fouls and yellow cards being bailed out to ICT were laughable. Conversely, Celtic players were getting away with murder and should have had at least 4 or 5 more bookings. Its worth noting that Celtic's second goal came from a free-kick that was never even close to a foul. Only one big decision went ICT's way, and it wasn't crucial. When it was all said and done, Celtic were still 1-0 up with 11 men on the park. ICT absolutely played them off the park with some of the best passing football you'll see in this country. That's the real story.
  10. Just watched the BBC highlights on catch up. What magnificent football by us for that winning goal. Worthy of winning any match. Obviously the highlights confirm that we were lucky to get away with Meekings' hand ball. But they also show that we were denied a clear penalty too when the sub keeker clattered into the back of Ofere with the ball nowhere near. They also show that both free kicks from which Celtic scored were soft. I thought this at the time and the highlights confirm it. There was minimal contact by Warren for the first one. The Celtic forward had lost control of the ball and 'bought' the free kick. For the second one, Nick Ross clearly won the ball fairly. Neither he nor Warren deserved yellow cards. So I have no sympathy with all the Celtic whingers. Onwards and upwards!

The ICT Twitter account is brilliant - they missed one of my favourites at the end, though, which simply read: "A nation rejoices." Ha ha, love it.
  12. Clockwork Bar on Cathcart Street.
  13. Well I can't believe that I even considered staying in Chorley to watch the game on Sky. Amused many that I had to drive home and here I am - absolutely feckin knackered - emotionally drained - but have to say that was the BEST feckin ever. We looked the better team for 10-15 minutes but then Celtic bossed the rest of the half. Raven was given a roasting by Forrest and their width was taking us apart at times. Two decisions either side of half time swung it. Josh should have walked but the ref and linesman missed it but there was no missing or doubting the Gordon red. I thought that we were the better side from there on in. Thought we were heading fer penalties before Dave the Rave settled it. May as well be harsh !! Ryan boobed for the second goal. Raven looked shell shocked at half time but then settled and game up with the goods. Warren was immense and what a shame that he misses the final. Shinnie was my MOM. He was inspirational and international class. Tansey was allowed to play as a creator. Draper outshone Scrappy Doo in the enforcer role. Williams got hit more times than Henry Cooper but kept going. What an engine Christie has and he came in to his own in extra time when he had been quiet in the second half. Still not convinced by Ofere but he notched the second. Watkins again played up front which made sense today and he fair rattled their back two. But what the feck - scottish Cup Final - time fer a voddte
  14. ...I can't stop laughing about Griffiths's interview on the news tonight his greetin face was an absolute picture... Incidentally the game changer was Gordon's deliberate bringing down of Marley not the Josh Meekings incident they brought it on themselves.
  15. How many cups do they actually need. Our other frontman got flattened by goalie no 2 in the box and broonie should have had 4-5 yellow cards. I can't blame the officials for a split second decision when their sight was obstructed for long enough to not get a clear view. Just get over it and wish us well. We played against Hearts who fielded a player who served a league cup ban in his sleep . We didn't get reinstated like a team did to continue their European cup run. Get over it bad losers, we did more with 9 men last year than you can with 10.
  16. While Celtic are complaining to the compliance chappie can they ask him at the same time why ICT were not given a penalty when their goalie poleaxed Eddy.
  17. Serious lack of class being exhibited by Celtic, here.

Whoever does the club Tweets has gone viral with this rather funny article. Oh and I've realised this is my first post of this season. Did you miss me? Welcome back me! http://babb.telegraph.co.uk/2015/04/inverness-ct-reach-first-ever-scottish-cup-final-twitter-account-goes-into-hilarious-meltdown/

We could bemuse the global TV audience and revive one of my favourite chants from when we were regulars at the Falkirk Stadium, "I'd rather have a monster than a wheel!"
  20. I was surprised yesterday how many people I heard around me don't seem impressed with Ofere. Not to say they are wrong, I just think he looks good, hopefully with more to come once he really gets settled. His scoring record so far is good, and I think his size and hold up play brings something different to us. I hope he is signed up for longer, and we see more development next year. If you compare how long it took Rooney and Mckay to settle and start scoring regularly then Ofere has hit the ground running. Not easy when you join the team over half way through the season.

Graeme has been my favourite player for some time now and anyone that watches him can't fail to see his quality. I was not happy at his decision to go to Aberdeen just along the road but for me and probably a few others it was a hard pill to swallow but at no point can he be described as a traitor, I hope this was a rare branding. He was absolutely class yesterday, truly showing what he is capable of on a big stage. He was so confident and composed on the ball, he needs to be in a Scotland top soon. Already a legend in my eyes, it would be fitting for him to lift that cup at Hampden.
  22. The wee radge giving it the the thumbs up behind the seething Tim in the gif above is ymip jr. Needless to say I'm vewy pwoud. The boy's rant is absolute class.
  23. We'll need extra capacity for all of Tansey and Raven's Liverpudlian mates, as it transpires they'll be free that day after all.
  24. Tremendous team performance and by all the individuals involved. But Graeme Shinnie = PURE CLASS. Nobody wanted this more than him and it would be entirely fitting for his last act as an ICT player to be the lifting of the Scottish Cup.
  25. Shittt we could be in trouble - I never noticed the linesman
  26. Maybe the celtic fans should remember this first before mouthing off about yesterday???? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/542950/Celtic-boss-Ronny-Delia-says-Scots-referees-are-fantastic

You put your right arm in. Your right out, in, out, in out, You put the Celtic out, You do the Josh Meekings and Turn around, We put the Celtic out, out, out.
  28. Probably just a reflection of the media central belt bias refering to a Falkirk v Inverness final. Just checked on the SFA site and as always there is SFA there to enlighten us.

  30. Absolutely epic match. One of the best ever. What more can you ask of a match than controversy, high drama, end to end excitement, great football and five goals. Thrills, spills and no bellyaches, unless you're bad losers. Even getting their slice of luck, ICT played more fluently and often more confidently in their own game than Celtic. Kept to their passing game, and actually created more than enough chances to win the game in normal time. The winning goal was worthy of any game in any league. The close passing, running into space and finishing was as good as you'll see anywhere - Shinnie was at the heart of it, like so many of our attacking moves, and will be missed sorely next season. But what a way to go out he has now. Ryan is really starting to look like the talent that we know he is, and has come on in leaps and bounds this season - he was revelling in the space behind the strikers. The way we never gave up, even when under pressure, and losing our lead, was magnificent. If any team deserves some silverware for their contribution to football in Scotland this season, then ICT surely do.
  31. I admire your attempt at logic....but now view the incident again having removed your red and blue tinted glasses.... No, I agree with DoofersDad. More a split second reflex movement by Josh. Would also be very harsh on him for the Compliance Officer to look at (as Septic fans are calling for on other websites) and give him a red card with a two match ban. If that happens then CO should also take a look at all the dives by Septic players throughout the game, the two fouls and yellow cards that never were for the "free kicks" in the lead up to their goals and the punch in the back of Ofere's head for the penalty we never got. Sour grapes are hard to eat!!
  32. ITS the Scottish cup final got to be at Hampden for me we have earned the right to the show piece game of the season
  33. It will, for once be a traditional 3PM kick off. Speaking of tradition, given that there are likely to be 15,000 empty seats and no history of animosity between the clubs, how about having a neutrals area with traditional cash turnstiles to encourage anyone who fancies, even at the last minute, coming along for an entertaining day out in the sun...
  34. Three starts, three goals, two against Celtic. That's some record! I thought his hold up play was pretty decent, apart from that one near the end when he trapped it further than I can pass it. The first half miss looked easier to score (from the other end of the park, admittedly), but all strikers miss them. Should have had a penalty too, but lets not be greedy, eh! Well said both. Actually I don't think his miss in the first half was as bad as it first appeared. From the highlights it is clear that his anticipation of where the ball might fall was good but that when the ball came to him it was quite quick and slightly behind him. It was actually a more difficult chance that it seemed at first. He had to almost scoop the ball out and it only went narrowly wide. He also did very well for his goal. The ball came to him agonisingly slowly with a couple of bounces and it would have been so easy in the circumstances to snatch at it. But he had the composure to wait and then drill it low and hard. There were some other very nice touches to his play and I think he could be a real find.
  35. Some stats to use if any of your mates or work colleagues bang on about Hampden being empty because there's nae big team involved. Crowds at the last eight ScoCuFinals NOT involving either of the uglies; 1986. Aberdeen v Hearts. Att: 62,841 1987. St mirren v Dundee U. Att: 51,782 1991. Motherwell v Dundee U Att: 57,319 1997. Kilmarnock v Falkirk. Att: 48,953 2006. Hearts v Gretna. Att: 51,232 2010. Dundee U v Ross C. Att: 47,122 2012. Hearts. v. Hibs. Att: 51,041 2014. St Johnstone v Dundee U Att: 47,345
  36. Leigh Griffiths was a lucky boy to stay on the park yesterday. Deliberately heading the ball against Meekings' hand in an attempt to get a fellow professional sent off is quite shameful Seriously though, the ref got the decision spot on. I accept that 99 times out of 100 the referee would have given a penalty for the handball incident but just because that is the case doesn't mean it would be the correct decision. Remember that the handball law refers to deliberate handling of the ball which is commonly extended to holding your arms in a position which make it more likely that the ball might strike the arm/hand. And yes, we've had these discussions before. In the incident yesterday what is absolutely as clear as the fact that the ball struck Josh's hand, is the fact that Josh tried to get his head to the ball. Imagine yourself in the position that Josh was standing and imagine trying to head a ball going just below your right shoulder. Try the move yourself! As your head goes down your right arm naturally comes up. I think the ref got it spot on when you consider three crucial factors. 1. Josh was attempting to make contact with the ball with his head. 2. He was not holding his arm deliberately in a position which would make it more likely to block the ball. Instead, the position of his arm was a natural consequence of his genuine attempt to head the ball. 3. The closeness between Griffiths and Josh was such that Josh would have had no time to react to consciously withdraw his arm when he realised he would not make head contact with the ball. Indeed he probably wouldn't have realised that the ball was going to hit his hand until it actually struck. The only conclusion you can draw from these factors is that Josh did not deliberately handle the ball and therefore it was not a penalty. This was a correct and courageous bit of refereeing which we should be applauding. Our "luck" yesterday was the fact that the referee got two crucial penalty decisions correct. The fact that he did so meant that his failure to award us an absolutely stonewall penalty late in the game did not affect the outcome of the match.
  37. I already know a few neutrals who will be coming along with us!
  38. Agree with all of the above, a fantastic day out but enjoyed mostly in retrospect, a real emotional roller coaster of a game. I thought the team were immense throughout, and played all the best football. Celtic look really limited when GMS and Armstrong aren't available. So, Nevin, I think we were the better team. For the disputed penalty, I don't see how it can have been deliberate, but the media furore (including Sportscene) just highlights than when the Old Firm are victims of a dodgy decision, it's news, but when it's the other lot (Warren's soft booking, the sub keeper flattening Ofere, the ref bottling giving Scott Brown a second yellow, Celtic scoring from two free kicks but when we're given them the Celtic wall is allowed to stand on top of the wall) it's just swept under the carpet. Better team won. Great game, great day, should be a terrific final. Never been to a ScoCuFi before. Immensely looking forward to it. Final word of caution; though they won on Sat, Falkirk didn't play very well but they're better than that. No complacency.
  39. Town teams (aye, I know Sneck is officially a city noo, but...) can put up a real show for a final. This final will be all about football from two good footballing, passing teams and there's no real excuse for anybody from Sneck or Falkirk, or who have any connection with either, not to be there in May. Even the Old Firm jersey wearers in both burgs, if they want to. It'd take a bit to fill Hampden, bit with the right pricing and marketing there can be a fair turnout from both clubs and maybe a good lot of neutrals. And even if the stadium isnae full, doesn't mean there's nae atmosphere. Who was making all the noise yesterday?
  40. One of the many incredible things about all this is that, amazing as yesterday was, it is still only my 3rd favourite Scottish Cup victory over Celtic.
  41. Fantastic a great team performance from all , just seen the BBC highlights where they showed Meekings terrific save four times! Celtic claim they should have had a penalty but don't mention we should have had another for the keepers assault on Ofere! Just BAD losers, looking forward to the final now
  42. What a day! What a game! Thought we started very brightly, but Celtic came back into it and we were under the cosh for a bit, but Esson came up with a few good saves. Thought that we might buckle when they scored, but we seemed to defend quite well, although Forrest was giving us problems (as well as diving a lot). Then the huge slice of luck - I still can't believe that ref, linesman and pointless ref all missed that handball. That said, I'm not going to get too upset at getting a bit of luck against Celtic. We started the second half ok, and then the game changer - Gordon made a late bid for the Scotland World Cup squad - the rugby World Cup that is - by taking Watkins out. Red card and penalty! Twenty minutes later, after Celtic finally found their substitute keeper, his first touch of the ball was to pick the ball out of the net. After that, I thought we used the extra man very well, and thought we bossed the game for most of the rest of the half. Celtic pressed towards the end, but their final ball was usually poor. And so to extra time. I wondered if we might regret not finishing it in normal time, but then Ofere popped up to put us in front for the first time. At that point I thought that might be enough, but the ref had other ideas, changing his policy of not giving blatant handballs to one of penalising fair tackles. Not sure if Esson should have done better, because it looked like the ball bounced right in front of him, would like to see it again. Thought we were set for penalties at that point, and when Ross failed to hit the target with the keeper grounded it seemed certain, but then the last man you would expect to turn up with a dramatic, late, semi-final winner ghosted in at the back post, and we were there! Every player in an ICT shirt was a hero today, they all put in a shift and stuck to the task in hand. One or two had sticky periods in the game, but kept working through them. No Warren in the final after his booking, but can Meekings expect a call from the Compliance Officer? If so, we may be a bit short at the back at the end of May b
  43. Many congrats from a Motherwell fan. Hope you go on and win it. Great job today.
  44. Celtic wanted a treble - so, how about this one? Success in a semi-final at our third attempt The third time we have beaten Celtic in the Scottish Cup We scored 3 goals. Happy now Ronny?
  45. Never any doubt they would be. As a Villa fan from my years in England it has been a rather good day. Hampden it has to be so let's hope the occasion inspires the folk of both Inverness and Falkirk and encourages neutrals to turn up to a final that epitomises the dreams of smaller clubs in a game dominated by the money that is poured into the big clubs.
