  1. ok so Brad Mckay was unwise to tweet what he did. He took pelters for it. Fisher may have been the only player to come over to the fans on Saturday but he was far from the only one to acknowledge the fans. To say otherwise is quite frankly rubbish! We dont know what Forans contract contains but quite frankly Id be amazed if a 4 year deal didnt include get out clauses. Think we all need to calm down a bit. What will be will be now.

  2. Mmmm, I got this totally wrong in the summer. Was so optimistic that, with the spine of the team still there, Richie's passion and enthusiasm would be a bonus. Even in October, I was still thinking the same. I suppose the test of a manager is always when things go wrong. The frustration is that Richie makes the same mistakes over and over again. Any rookie will make mistakes and I think we all had the goodwill to forgive Richie for early errors. However, he desperately needed a guiding hand from November onwards, when the wheels started to come off. Whether that was on offer we'll never know, but he certainly never benefitted from any. I really feel sorry for him as he flounders like a rabbit in the headlights, but he really needs to admit to himself that the job is beyond him. His appointment wasn't his fault, but he needs to have a word with himself now.

  3. It's clearly a bug bear of his and something he has been punished wrongly for in the past with the Guidetti dive.Pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of Celtic and their fans is hardly tantamount to showing disrespect to ICT.

  4. That was clearly not the point of the tweet at all.

  6. Question i want an answer to, is, would a Board dimwitted enough to hand a rookie/unproven manager a 4 year contract, been as smart as to include a Relegation Clause. If not....heads should roll

  7. You would need some evidence to make the case for foran. Sadly, it is completely lacking at the moment. What price on him going after we have a poor start to life in div one, around November? How long do we wait?

  8. Yup, Dundee have played their joker, while we still have ours. Ach, maybe it is just less painful to accept fate instead of trying to change it. It's the hope that kills you, so just as well we've none of that.

  9. The Dundee situation goes to show once again that Inverness is the safest manager's job in football ... no amount of losses or shambolic performances is enough to require a change.

  11. It really hurts to come to this conclusion but I think the Board must be radical and gamble by removing Foran now. It is obvious to one an all that our results are not going to improve under the present set-up and maybe just maybe a change could give the spark to inspire some results to get near 11th place. If they don't gamble now then nothing is going change and we go down without giving any of the teams above a fight.

  12. While relegation can happen to most teams if they have a bad season ( and some fans need to realise that bigger teams than us have been relegated or escaped relegation on technicalities), the bigger issue for me has been the performance of the board and not just this season. I have posted several times on this but we do not seem to have any long term strategy for the club or if we do, then I for one am certainly not aware. I have heard, but have no proof, that there are splits in the board but there seems to be a general lack of drive and ambition from them. Not knowing them personally, I could be wrong and it may be just my perception but perception is a powerful tool. It the, as it now appears, the inevitable happens, and we do get relegated, then fans do need to get behind the team and support in similar numbers as they do currently. That would help the team, and finances greatly but this is where the actions of the board are crucial. They do need to show they have a viable plan to take the club forward if relegation happens but I am not holding my breath on this and say that with great sadness. While RF and the players have had to face the media, take flack from supporters etc, the board have been hugely anonymous (I appreciate they have to be careful in what they say and how people interpret what they say) but the silence has been very disappointing to me and is indicative of the fact that there are no real leaders in the boardroom. Fully appreciate this may not be on topic so feel free to move if required but Saturdays result really was a bitter blow.

  14. I think the 3 year player deal to Foran was intended to be transferred into a coaching position. It probably came sooner than intended with Yogi's antics. I'm sure financially the 4 year deal was essentially the equivalent of his 2 year playing deal. The whole point was to give the club sustainability and a medium term plan with the club trusting Foran. I don't blame the club for this idea but it does seem we have backed the wrong horse. Two options remain, we ditch the plan and turn to someone else on a short contract or continue with the plan however painful it may be in the short-term that with time and more experience beside him, someone he chooses, that Foran will succeed and return us to the top flight.

  15. I really hope this isn't true and if it is concluded that he's not fit for purpose that he walks away without further (financial) damage to a club that cannot afford it. The club has suffered enough from mercenary managers.

  16. Partially agree, but we shouldn't be just resigned to accepting what's going on, as fans and ultimately paying the clubs wages we deserve to ask questions of why Foran has been 'hung out to dry' - inexperienced on a long term deal, yet no real indication from the board. Are they happy and we view next year as a chance to rebuild and transition or whether they expected to stay up in which case when it became apparent (3-0 defeat to Hamilton for me) that they never looked certain, bolster the management team to help him. There's fans questioning the renewal of season tickets - some because we are being relegated (which is fickle yet inevitable) but more worryingly some because they don't understand the direction of the club, how its being run and where the longer term plan is - so perhaps theres good reasons folks are getting worked up about it all.

  21. After watching Sportscene last night, the most impressive thing about us is the blind faith some fans still have in RF - such patience and acceptance of how crap we are - its admirable yet somewhat signs of denial, I'm not clear what or why some hold RF is such high regard as other managers have been hounded out of our club for doing better. Defence is a shambles, OFW looks shot - no confidence and no form - he has to be dropped, he is clearly affecting the back line. We cant create and still persist with the Draper - Tansey - Vigurs midfield which doesn't work. Sadly nothing seems to change, if anything we are getting worse each week. I get that some look at the freefall Dundee and think we can catch them, but where will we pick up 2 -3 wins this season, we are playing teams that have more fight, confidence and momentum.

  22. For whatever reason, Fisher doesn't seem to have been given a fair crack of the whip this season. From what I've seen, he looks like the type of striker who would thrive and score a fair few in the championship. If, as now appears likely, that's where we find ourselves, we should make every reasonable effort to have him stay for at least another season.

  23. Dunno about that, Grassa was the instigator for Brewster's second term here! Players were mainly found by scouts and mainly S Marsella.

  24. Looks and sounds increasingly like Alex Fisher is a player who should have had a great deal more time on the park than he had this season. Always puts the effort in and appreciates the people who pay his wages. One to be kept if we possibly can, but that ship might have already sailed.

  25. Good on you Alex Fisher the only one who took any time to acknowledge the travelling support. The rest just sloped off up the tunnel probably planning how to manage their exit from the club in the summer.

  26. If the board are going to back Foran and he will be manager next season then they should say so unequivocally so that he can get on with planning for next season. If they are not then they should terminate his contract and put him on gardening leave as from tomorrow. The idle weekend next weekend would then mean that the new manager would have the best part of a fortnight to work with the players and, if he is a permanent rather than an interim appointment he too can begin to prepare and plan for next season. Either of these courses would be legitimate what is no longer tenable is the current dithering and prevarication. The current uncertainty helps nobody and reflects badly on the board. They are there to take decisions, for god sake take this important one and take it now.

  27. You may well be right Yngwie, but they need to weigh that emotion against the many jobs at the club that will go with relegation- you can bet that those people are just as loyal and committed as Richie.

  31. Realistically, the only issue now to be determined is whether we can overhaul free falling Dundee to sneak into the play off spot. I can well see Dundee not winning a single game or perhaps even not gaining a point after the split. The problem is I have the very same view about ourselves. We need to heap pressure on the Dark Blues but we will not do that unless we win in Dingwall a week Friday. Without doubt, the most important Highland derby in history from our point of view and we can't possibly afford to start as sloppily as we did today.

  32. Soul destroying loss for us which makes it hard to rally behind the cause. I used to be Ritchie's most vocal supporter but the candle is burning very dimly indeed now. My view of the board role in all this is a poor one, it's almost like the parachute payment is what they're after.

  33. Makes that atrocious rallying call statement all the more embarrassing now. Pathetic lack of action from the faceless halfwits in the boardroom.

  35. A few months ago Hartley was the pin-up boy in our football scene having had considerable success elsewhere. So what happened ? He was is a bit of a rough diamond though and his appearance is/has not been exactly managerial......a bit scruffy, like, and he definitely needs a haircut? Maybe his attitude was that of being "one of the boys" rather than the manager? Then he was in our frame to be hired so what happened?. If nothing else I think it shows the unpredictability of lauding a former player who really does not have much experience in Management. So, when the dirt starts to hit the fan, do emotions take over instead of deep thinking and caution? Hasn't Hartley nearly had a bust up with a player or players as well? There's something in my mind about that but I can't quite remember? Hartley in for us ?--- My opinion is ... No !! Who now thinks that approaching John Hughes again would be a good move? I was upset at the awful way in which J Hughes left and the amount of money he seemed to be able to get out of our club. But what if the Board decided that a rapprochement is required ("needs must when the Devil drives") and offers him a deal in which they get him on board and agree to a salary that recoups the financial outlays that they had to cough up when he left. Am I mad? Looks like it, eh? But,.consider this...... a. Everybody makes mistakes and everybody deserves a second chance? Right? And he is not stupid so perhaps a chastened man has learned a lesson and humility can take over? b. This man is not in a position of negotiating strength because he is still in football, which he says he still loves to death, but his position is, well, lowly in the general scheme of things and he must now fully realise that his services are NOT in great demand elsewhere. c. Really, are we in a better position? Anything but !.-- So brutal honesty and frankness could sink in deep with both parties, leading to a greater understanding between them and a more considered approach to each other from both? In short, a better working relationship based on a much higher plane of thought and reflection by both him and the Board of ICT on the rights and needs of both parties. i.e. a greater willingness to compromise and, for sure, if J.H wants to come on board he would have to do this. OR he can stay where he is in obscurity. If a very frank and honest talk took place between the Board and Mr. Hughes, during which it was stressed that complete openness, honesty and realism must be the order of the day at all times from now on, then who knows what can be achieved? d. What about his contract at the club he is at now? Well, that could be stumbling block...unless he is willing to dig into own pocket to help the transfer process along?

  36. Clearly not. If chedan1 looks at the context then the point will be clear and does not reflect, in any way, badly on Brad MacKay or his loyalty to the club.

  37. With all the positivity in the world, I'd expect the results to be defeats away to County & Killie, an utter sh*tfest draw against Dundee, loose or draw to Hamilton then we will win comfortably last game of the season against Motherwell when its all too little too late and everyone will say its a positive sign for next season and RF has shown in that 1 game he could turn it round and we are unlucky with ref's, injuries and inexperience.

  41. With Mckay out of contract with Wigan in the Summer it leaves me wondering what the chances of a deal are. One of of Foran's particular strengths seems to be recruiting player - even if they don't perform as well as they should, who would have thought we could bring in the likes of King or Mckay. Certainly better than yogi ever managed *cough* Liam Hughes *cough*

  42. Foran is a hopless manager of that there is no doubt the guy couldn't manage a raffle however he must be laughing at the most incompetent board in football. What kind of person 1,Gives a 33 year old a 3 year playing contract ? He wasnt loyal we were the only club stupid enough to offer that sort of deal 2, Gives a complete rookie coach a 4 year deal in his 1st management position? It is complete madness on both fronts sometimes i think Foran is writing his own contracts he has the club over a barrel & for his utter failure the idiots on the board will have to fork out big money again on another cluster f**k. No doubt Richie will eventually step down or be sacked & will fit right in with the "jobs for the boys" culture in the clubs youth set up & Fairways can look forward to some cracking golf days. Yes Richie is a bad manager but the clowns on the board who seem more than happy to strut around with a club blazer & have there nice seats on match day need to start getting a hold of the car crash of a club ICT are turning into.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
