  1. John Robertson...."We've got a problem at home. We've won two, lost three and drawn the rest. Away from him, we've got a small band of fans that get right behind the team but at home they don't seem to do that." There we have it folks.....it's all our fault. WTAF Give us something to get behind and we'll get behind you! But all we see the same abject lifeless performances every other week!!! That's a ridiculous comment to make. Don't think I'll bother turning up in future if I'm only going to be a hindrance to the team! Raging!
  2. Dougal if you were at game about 25 years ago you must be very close to blue rinse yourself. As for home baking you must have been on a WRI outing and are getting mixed up.
  3. Robbo is out of order saying what he did look at the atmosphere at the home & away Derby's ? He has really shown his true personality now any decent manager would of accepted the blame yesterday for that shambles and attempt to sort it but nothing will change he knows his job is safe no matter what. Partick are fighting for their lives and it showed yesterday while we seemed to think it's ok we are in Top 4 no need to push on and why is it Partick can get their post match interview public by 6pm and we will be lucky if at all to get one by tonight. We are amateur's from bottom to top with no signs of it getting better. Foran may well have put the nail in the coffin but with his attitude Robbo will slam the lid shut.
  4. Worst performance of the season so far. JR comments shows a complete lack of respect for the fans that turned out to watch that drivel. Route one football and hoping that the ball drops to one of our players. There are no tactics just lump in box and see what happens. it does not take a genius to work out how PT play. Two banks of four they are fighting for our lives. Their keeper did not have to make a save to make but that is the supporters fault? Supporters should have their say they pay their money and we have been shocking at home all season. Players are just not fit enough and cant keep hold of ball. Frustrating to say the least. JR comments will turn more fans away. Playoffs - I would be looking at teams below us that are all improving.
  5. Used to go to awAy games years ago not obvs your gonna be louder no kids with u and a few beers before the game always helps! Atmosphere at home is gash but give fans something to cheer and they will look at Dunfermline game end of last season when we had a right go place was jumping!
  6. I couldnt care less what they announce tbh. However anyone with a pair of eyes can see crowds are droppimg and folk are staying away in droves. I bet it would be even worse if season tickets were not already bought and paid for. Worrying times. Crowds down and looks like other revenue down like hospitality. Big changes needed in my opinion starting with the Board improving the matchday experience to help atmosphere etc
  7. I too agree with Robbo's comments but he really picked the wrong day to say it! None of what happened yesterday was anyone elses fault but his own. Wrong set up from start and it all went downhill. Caleyaway is a small but loyal band of fans some of whom seldom attend home games. You dont ever hear the criticism/pickiness that I hear week in and out at home. Football at home is mainly a joyless watch. Its not helped by performances like yesterday however.
  8. Utter rubbish as a lot have said, no wonder our home crowds are down to circa 2000. Brad McKay is a train crash and everyone but Robbo can see that. We are in real trouble and next season heading for our lowest ever season ticket sales figures if what a large number of people I have talked to are saying.
  9. It's worth bearing in mind that we are not the only club with a concern about poor attendances and poor results at home. Most clubs do better at home but, like us, both Falkirk and Dunfermline have significantly better records on the road this season than at home. Dundee Utd's home record is now just marginally better than their away record following their victory yesterday. What all 4 clubs share is an expectation from the fans that the club should be doing better than they are, and this is reflected in a frustration when performances don't match expectations. They also have a reasonably decent and vocal away support. Notwithstanding what the club, the manager or the players may be doing wrong, there is a clear message here that positive vocal support helps the team. Players seem to relax and play better when away from home but are edgy and nervous in front of the home support. Away from home. we have taken a greater percentage (61%) of available points than any other team in the division. That demonstrates that we are a pretty decent side and the question of why we don't do better at home is a very important one to address. Yes, we'll get bigger home gates if the team players better, but if the fans who attend the home games reacted more positively to aspects of good play and held back from venting their frustration about the poor play, then the players would probably be less edgy and play better as a result. We really shouldn't underestimate how important a positive and supportive home crowd is to the team.
  10. It's just a Scottish football trait... Small band of vocal away fans singing 'what a shitey home support' every week. In our case it's always correct .
  11. Going away from the ground yesterday I wondered, for the first time since he was appointed, whether John Robertson was the right man for the job. Today, in the cold right of day, I am still not sure. I hope that, over the remainder of the season, things improve and faith in the manager and his ability is restored.
  12. It was reported yesterday 2100 attended but I think most sane people will admit it never looked like there was even close to 2000 there, either the figures are being manipulated or the club are including all season tickets sold whether they are in attendance or not. My concern is that this will continue to drop not just because of the poor football on show but Robbo's criticism of the home support in his post match rant is not going to help matters. Ok probably the weather was also a factor yesterday which I fully understand but when does these figures actually become a concern to the board and the so called guardians of the club? Dougal
  13. I have had a season ticket for umpteen years, buy the Club merchandise, sponsor a player AND go to away games. I don’t have a blue rinse and never do home baking. However I think you have a very biased idea of ICT fans, home and away. Since you haven’t been on a supporters bus since the 90s - by your own admission - how come you can spout your views on the current away supporters buses?
  14. The most disheartening thing is the club do nothing. How many times have we had a thread like this on CTO?
  15. Need to step back as too many only remember good times and been spoilt by recent success. There's clubs much older and better supported that would be envious of what ict have achieved. Right now its a downwards trajectory but we need to support the club and get a stable platform to build the next wave of success however that must also be realistic in expectations. Thoughts of cup wins, finals and ventures to Europe are rarity and can't be expected as the norm. Pit a plan in place to develop talent and maintain sensible costs and we as fans should back the club - the lack of leadership and transparency needs to be addressed now to encourage continued support next season from anyone other than die hards
  16. Utter dross!!, That's 2 hrs and £22 I'll never see again, what a waste of time and money. No wonder our crowds are diminishing!!
  17. Ffs caley away it's hardly a hoarde and like I said in another comment a few bevys you'll cheer anything ! Robbo just deflecting from his own tactics and quality of signings!
  18. The "Tomatin Caledonian Stadium" ....lol Em not sure Jock would approve tbh ?
  19. There's no one at Board level got a clue how to do that. 2 home wins all season is poor if it was any other club Robbo would be long gone but not this lot as they would not know where to start also i think it is well know what a shambles the club is that no one in their right mind would want the managers job. I fear next season they will be lucky to play in front of 1000 fans not helped by Robbo's comment's yesterday most fans and me included today thinking well F*** You !
  20. Not condoning JR here but I think he has point. Atmosphere has always been better at away games than at home games. Main reason I think is the fact that we're always is the same section at away games. At home we're well spread out in two stands. Take away the seats in the North stand and replace it with the Howden End and you might be on a winner. Something on the park to shout about would also help. Things like attacking football and goalmouth action. Ah those were the days.
  21. Truly awful comment to make from a management team that are pure and simply not upto the task. Its down to him to get the tactics , formation and motivation right for every game ,home or away. Absolutely no passion on or off the park and that unfortunately carries over into the stands. Stop looking for excuses and face up to the facts that we were f*****g awful today.
  22. I try to be realistic about my expectations and I have enjoyed a lot of the football we have been playing this season. Even when we have failed to win we have had spells where we have dominated, played some good attacking football and created several chances. But not today. Today we were simply dire from start to finish Partick must be about the worst team to have come visiting this season but they were a lot better than us. I can only assume that Tremarco and Donaldson were on the bench because they were not match fit. But to be honest, it looked as though a good number of those who did start were not match fit. Maybe Austin and Rooney are also carrying injuries or not match fit as they were two of the better players in the first half and it seemed bizarre to take them off. Young McDonald had a game to forget and was rightly subbed, but to be fair to him, he got no help from those around him, and no protection from the referee against the physicality of the opposition. Trafford at least offered some energy and urgency when he came on and McCauley added a little bit of much needed attacking flair. Five minutes before the end ,McCauley was announced as the sponsor's MOTM. But he only came on in the 70th minute. I think that rather sums it up!
  23. Something like beat the goalie could be entertaining and if someone is really good it could solve our striker problem!
  24. I agree totally. Girls nowadays thankfully want to play football not be oggled at with pom poms! No objection to a bit of half time entertainment though. Been a long time since there has been any such as a competition for fans or kids playing. Not sure it improves attendance though.
  25. He does that, gets carried away and before you know it...
  26. The 'Lease For Sale' stadium
  27. Absolutley! Most of us are only turning up because we have played for our season tickets. It is a chore to find the enthusiasm to go now Yesterday i wanted to leave at HT as i knew there was no way back Polo Chap stopped me but all i could think about in second half was i want to leave ☹️
  28. Madness Noel Gallagher and soon to be announced kaiser chiefs playing inverness why o why are the board not cashing in on this.one thing comes to mind mismanagement.
  29. Mackay....small "k"
  30. We as a club have no future unless we encourage young fans. Not excusing some of the stuff in the past but we need to start a dialogue. Agree with its not a Sunday School comment totally.
  31. That's all good until we get a performance like yesterday, then the young team can get nasty quite quickly. Not sure if the wee neds are all banned anyway, just the odd one or two.
  32. Shell shocked !! What I think I watched yesterday was a bunch of amateurs playing together a game of kick about on a field. Worst performance this season giving the ball away with every second pass, little organisation at the back and complete lack of thrust at the front.. I felt sorry for Donaldson being thrown on when he was obviously out of sorts and not ready in fitness. I haven't read or heard Robbo's comments as yet but from this thread I gather there must have been criticism of the home support? Well from where I was sitting in the main stand most of the shouts were of support and encouragement, Well yes there was some moans and groans too but these were resultant of some of the many howlers the team was making and believe me most of the criticism was justifiable. Where on earth is the bustling forward we need to panic and upset defences ?? why were the crosses so poor in the second half, was it because Rooney was taken off? He is generally good going forward and generally gets the ball in the right places. We badly missed Doran and Walsh and I hope Tremarco is back next game along with a much fitter Donaldson. As a footnote Partick's unsporting behaviour of fouling and time wasting was atrocious and just how long does it take a Referee to write the names of offenders in his note book? This one wasted minutes on his own.

I remover thinking, after a few minutes of wildly celebrating the equaliser, hang on, instead of the end result being a plucky 2-1 defeat, with 11 v 9 for another 30 mins it’s going to end up as something like 5-2 which doesn’t seem fair. But what’s interesting from the player comments is just how much much belief they had that they would go on to win.
  35. I've no idea. I've never posted much about tactics, formations and such in all the years I've been on here. Simply because I don't feel I know enough about it to offer a competent opinion. The level that I'm at just now is my daughter's primary school team coach which is probably my level. That said whatever we're doing at the moment clearly isn't working. We should have had a good confidence boost beating Ayr however that 1st half performance today was among the most haphazard, listless dirge I've ever had the misfortune of watching. Lack of any discernible shape or width. Players looked disinterested and were second to most balls. Second half was a bit better but aside from our goal did we even have a shot on target? Anyway yes the fans are poor, quiet and overly whiney but when they've seen, what 2 wins all season, your players look like they're going through the motions and are 2 down at home to a team that I don't think have won away from home for like 8 months it's not surprising. We look like a team bereft of confidence, ideas or belief. I've absolutely no idea how to sort that.
  36. We should forget the play offs and if we did get there great but we aren't in a position I feel to win promotion and certainly not got the basis of a squad that could even stay there - we'd end up recruiting over paid jobbers just to try. The remainder of the season needs to be giving youth and playing time and developing experience and tactics based on who we have for next year.
  37. Most successful teams have a way of playing, be it a settled team, formation or tactics. For the last few seasons, it's hard to know which way we are going to play from game to game, is it going to be long ball, play narrow through the middle or stretch the opposition back line by playing wide. You could say if we don't know, the opposition won't know, and it could be to our benefit, but it's not working. In my opinion, we play better and have more success with widemen. We create loads more chances when we can get behind their defence and put balls into the box, and if we stretch their back four as wide as possible by hugging the touchline, we will create space for our attacking midfielders to exploit. Players then need to know the system and where to slot in if a regular is out injured or suspended. We need to work on a settled system in training and sign players to play that system and let the other teams worry about our attacking ability. The players at the moment seem to be lost as to where and what they are supposed to be doing. I have no idea what formation we were supposed to be playing in the second half against Partick and neither did the players it seemed. I know it has a lot to do with the quality that we have at our disposal now, but I am a firm believer that if you set your team up well, you can give anyone a run for their money.
  38. He has a point. It was clearly poor support that led to his centre half to dither then fall over the ball for the second goal. Come on people. We need to step up and avoid us letting Robo down again!
  39. You mean there were real people there!
  40. I think brad mckay must have pictures of robbo blowing a goat.
  41. Getting pretty sick of posting the same comments after almost every home game! That first 45minutes today really was the worst I can remember from an Inverness side. Absolutely pathetic! Why McKay wasn't hooked at half-time instead of Rooney is a complete mystery. The only positives I can take from today are that we learned that 1. McKay isn't a central defender, and 2. He's no a right back either!
  42. Not up for the game from the start whole team awful 1st half. The whole bloody lot of them need to take a look at themselves. Partick niggled & fouled, wasted time whole we were taken for a bunch of amateurs. Not good enough!!
  43. I think you need to look at the table. There are only 12 points between us and the bottom team, which isn't a lot after 23 games. I usually reckon that averaging one point per game means that you are safe from relegation. At the moment Alloa are just "safe" with 23 from 23 - but Partick and Falkirk have 22 and 21 respectively. I think that any of the bottom 7 are capable of taking points off each other at any time. There is no club dropping way behind the others.
