Such a shame many other nations dont have the guts of EFAand SFA in protesting this election. Too many, including FAI have a vested interest in seeing Blatter at the top regardless of the underhand goings on within the organisation. With luck Zurich will deport them all and no other country will house them.

apparently acting CONCACAF president Lisle Austin sacked "whistleblower" Chuck Blazer yesterday .... only for the full executive of CONCACAF to then reinstate him saying Austin had no authority to do so and the sacking was "unauthorised". Of course, one of the people he blew the whistle on was fellow CONCACAF member Jack Warner who is now suspended and whose position Austin is currently occupying !!!

Feeling over here in some quarters is that Blazer is positioning himself as the 'white (bearded) knight' ready to come in and sweep corruption out of FIFA .... but many wonder if he is so lilywhite himself ..... very bad website though ! http://chuckblazer.blogspot.com/

liked this article in the Independent - http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/et-tu-chuck-blazer-looks-to-have-betrayed-his-old-friend-warner-2288945.html

I had to have a wee laugh at the whole "buying the World Cup" thing.

The process for securing the World Cup basically comes down to who is willing to spend the most money on it...in other words, the winners are buying the World Cup.

I know that when it comes down to those with a vote securing some kind of personal gain then that's a step too far, but it's hardly surprising that a process which encourages big spending leads to some of that money being spent where it will generate most benefit for least outlay...i.e. buying votes.

Not saying it's right, just that people shouldn't be so surprised by it all.

P.S. Have Chuck Blazer and Santa Claus ever been seen in the same room at the same time!!!

If he gets no vote in the first ballot then he will have tied with himself so do all the votes that never went to him then automatically get redistributed to him?

Look at the left of the picture - is anyone surprised that one delegate has a whole pile of ballot papers

Don't think anyone is surprised, but very frustrating when it is blatantly obvious bungs and corruption are rife and fat cats control and can do exactly what they wish at the highest level. It stinks all the way from bottom to top and needs sponsors to withdraw to have any impact.Probably not in my life time then :irritated:

I see Blatter is now bringing in none other than Henry Kissinger to sort things out! The thing is though, unlike Vietnam, this couldn't get much worse!

From 'When Saturday Comes' newsletter (I'd recommend it), what goes around...:

In 1998 UEFA president Lennart Johansson was running against Sepp Blatter. One member of UEFA withdrew their support for Johansson at the last minute and backed Blatter instead because he had to promised to support their 2006 World Cup bid. Who were these Machiavellian schemers? Why, it was the English FA.
