  2. Sky had Queen of the South winning 6 - 0, with one player scoring all SIX. He did get a hattrick, but they put him down for two each time he scored! Cracking start to the season, couldnt have been better. Can see us getting more than two minutes on Sportscene tonight, we might even get a big 5 minutes, as it will all be about Celtic lack of scoring power, Elfsborg midweek, Aberdeen re-emergance, Hearts prospects and Hibs disaster/recovery. Top of the League, looking forward to downing the Arabs next week. And hey folks, dont knock Foran, we play better with him in the team, even if he doesnt have a great game he sparks the others. We need his aggresive style, his shouting and barracking others. He is a real Captain imo

  3. I recall Mikey Diamond being refused entry into St Johnstone two seasons ago, because the Steward said his flag wasn't marked fire retardant. Mikey went round to the ticket office, complained (I don't think they understood a word he said) and the outcome was that he was allowed in, with his flag. Hurray for Mikey - wouldn't let any steward stop him and his flag.

  4. I am guessing the announcer's choice of Rihanna's "diamonds" a little prior to kickoff may not have been coincidental........

  6. 9th August 2008, we beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Pittodrie which had us top of the league after the first round of fixtures, we then went on to secure 1st division football the next year. We're doomed.

  7. I suppose that technically Partick and Dundee United jointly held that honour on Friday evening.

  9. Just seen the highlights there. Didn't get a good view of it at the time, but the penalty decision looks harsh to me.

  10. The continuing apathy of the Inverness footballing public is both surprising and disappointing but I really don't think it is the fault of the media. There will not be a soul in Inverness who doesn't know that we boast a top flight football team. Almost all will have an idea from the media that we have been relatively successful of late yet still they can't be bothered to come along in any numbers.

  11. Yeah we are top, all we have to do now is win every game then we are champions..................Easy isn't it

  14. Surprised I didn't hear any claps or chants in the 64th minute or even the whole game, it would have been very respectful for a man that truly deserved it.

  15. A great guy, a great fan and an even greater bearer of the flag. RIP Mikey.

  16. From Telford Street in his youth right up to pre Charlton, not many games missed. It's funny there's a thread about Drew's flag, Mikey's was religiously unfurled every week. If any fan deserves a respectful minute it's Mike, hope the club take all comments on board. Will be sadly missed in the Caley Club, RIP matey.

  18. I'm the same. He was a great man and I will miss him on the bus at away games. If there is a chant for mikey il be joining in to

  19. As he was 64, why not start a chant on the 64th minute, One Mickey Diamond, followed by fans applause for the minute

  20. Yea I agree. He's gonna be a big miss at away games n on the bus.

  21. Such sad news, I can recall speaking to him in the Cairngorm, watching the County v United cup final on TV, although he is an ICT fan he still wanted the Highland team to win the cup. As a fellow fan, I would be happy to pay for something like Mikey Diamond Forever to be added to his flag, or something similar, or to pay towards it as a group thing. I doubt the club would allow an official minutes silence and think an unofficial one would be ruined by the ones not aware. A one minutes applause at 5 to three or on the whistle perhaps and it would be an honour to cheer on the Caley in his name for tomorrows game.

  23. Really sad news. I hope this is marked in some way tomorrow, whether it's a silence or a chant - which I think would be really fitting. I'm sure a few of us in the Caley Club will be raising a glass to him too.

  24. Very sad news. There can be very few people who've attended more ICT games and it would be nice if the club could mark Milkey's passing in some way. RIP.

  25. Would be charmed if our new goalie rummelled up the opposing forwards. Abrasive, like: As in just adding an "O' onto his last name.... Or have they stopped making these things in Britain now? IHE, over to you , my man....

  29. Gutted to hear the news about Mikey. A genuine, good guy who is one of the most dedicated that there's been in terms of following the club. Can understand the clubs stance, but Mike was one of the few people I think would merit this gesture. If a minutes silence/applause isn't put in place for before kick off then another idea could be if anyone knows what age he was, could do a minutes applause and have a chant for him during that minute of the game tomorrow?

  30. We always gave him a wee chant of, Mikey Diamond, Mikey Diamond, Mikey Diamond, Mikey Diamond.

  32. Could not picture who he was until I looked at the facebook page linked above, but recognised him instantly from that. Let me echo everyone else's sentiments and also offer my own condolences to friends and family. I can totally understand the response from the club so the idea of the fans showing respect to Mikey by way of a chant is probably a better idea and perhaps one that could be co-ordinated with the club so they can maybe do a tannoy announcement a few minutes before kick-off and ask everyone to join in? Too late to get it into the programme, but maybe a few flyers in the concourse that would let folk know what was going to happen could be arranged ..... Thinking about it, getting the crowd to roar for him, and that spurring ICT on to victory in the first game of the season would be a very fitting tribute !

  33. I understand the clubs response to the calls for a minutes silence. However feel mikey is one of the rare fans who perhaps can be meritted this honour. Alternatively, us as fans can show our respect to mikey by chanting 'one mikey diamond' (as ive seen suggested elsewhere) as the teams enter the field of play. Perhaps also during or even after the game also. Rest peacefully mikey. You shall be missed

  36. Got to echo the calls for a minute's silence. I'm not sure the club has any supporters that were more committed than Mikey. As Govan Jaggie says, we travelled back from Elgin with him a few weeks ago, and although he didn't look great, he was on good form. Shocked to hear this, and condolences to those closest to him.

  40. Gutting news, he was ICT through and through and also just a lovely guy. Away days will never be the same without him. I think a minutes silence will be very appropriate for tomorrow, a reward for a man who barely missed a game home or away.

  41. I recall us having a minutes silence / applause in memory of John MacDonald, who passed away the previous week at Rugby park, before a match.

  42. Very sad news. I with with Mikey on the train to Elgin and he was all excited about London. We were surprised not to see him at the game and this explains why. He was confident that he had recovered from his illness earlier in the year and was getting on with it. Get a wee chant for him boys.

  44. Can someone ensure there is plans for a minutes silence tomorrow for Mikey? I contacted the stadium and was told there is no policy for a minutes silence for fans as there would be one 'every few weeks' I was told the request was put to Kenny, but i'm sure there is someone here who would be better placed to ensure this is done.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner
