Harry Patch

The last British serviceman to fight in the trenches. Just over a week after the death of Henry Allingham.

RIP

Without being disrespectful, do we really need another one of these RIP threads?

Without trying to be disrespectful to yourself Renegade and from my atheist viewpoint the only way in which any person can gain immortality is to live on in the memories of others if people remembering someone's life on a forum by posting a rest in peace message helps to achieve this then it can only be seen as a good thing.

RIP Harry.

I understand your point of view Renegade, people young and old die every day of the week, but nobody seems to worried until it happens to be someone high profile, then we all seem to go very self rightious, I have to say I agree with the RIP thread for this poor old chap, just the fact he lived so long as he did warrants it for me.

I think people are in their right to post what ever they like on here within the rules, the bottom line is you either get involved in the debate or ignore it, an unpopular topic soon disapears.
