Good News, Shinnie in particular looks a great prospect.

I agree Johnboy, but only when the time is right. The season is at a critical stage now and the introduction of one or both of these youngsters would be a fair weight on their young shoulders.

When all is lost or the title is won, then by all means give them a game, but right now we need bottle.

We need to get the first team regulars signed up on new contracts or I feel we could be in this league for years. If we dont win the league this year and many of them leave then we will be concined to the 1st for a long long time, just look at what had happened to other teams who have gone down, some have dropped down a division further and don't look like returning any time soon to the top division.

We have though seemed to have clicked recently and if we missed out on the league this season but kept the same team for next season then I reckon we could run away with the league. I know we dont know budgets etc if we dont know what league we are in but surely we can offer contracts where the pay depends on what league we are in next season and with a wage rise on promotion if we don't make it up this season.

Golabeck's doing a decent job at LB just now, but I'd prefer to see Shinnie as cover for that position than Lionel.

From what I saw of Nick Ross in the pre-season friendlies and in one game against Partick, he did enough to convince me he's got what it takes - capable of playing wide on either side - very similar to Jonny Hayes - comfortable on the ball, good pace, and likes to run at defenders. He wouldn't let anybody down if selected.

One of the many positives from Butchers time at Motherwell was the way he brought youngsters through. if the lads show the right attitude they'll get their chance.
