When is the last time Billy Mckay scored for us, i know we don't have many options but who could we put up front to replace him as he is supposed to be our main goal threat and he has played the vast majority of games and most of the matches he's played he's played nearly the full game but his lack of goals is killing us, I know he works hard for the team and Co manages now and I'm never going to slate our best ever striker but we definitely need someone to start hitting the back of the net on a regular basis, any chance we can sign someone in January if a, we can afford it and b, are we even allowed to in Admin?

They're trying. He was our top scorer last year despite not playing as a striker. Our only other options were previously Brooks (one goal) and, err, Fergie jr.

Instead of signing 37 defenders, Dunc could have looked at a striker, especially with no Billy in that forward line. But, then, we might lose possession by having a striker...

He signed Samuel, Pepple Ferguson and Sheridan when we already had McKay, Brooks, Lodovica, Cairns and Samuels.

We probably did need 9 strikers though.

Billy might not be as potent a striker as he used to be but he's still pretty useful in the final third.

Have you ever noticed how well marked he always is? Other teams certainly see him as a threat!

His very presence draws defenders away and gives our other forwards a chance of a shot. His ability to hold the ball, and set up other players with a killer pass should not be under-estimated.

Is that based on your view of what he used to do and faint hopes going fowards of recapturing that or what you have actually seen this season?

Everyone of them questionable decisions (including billy last season) except Brooks who never got a chance and cairns who's still young. If Dodds had actually played him in the right position and kept Oakley he'd have given better return than all of them.

No I don't think he can recapture his previous striking ability but from what I've seen he is making himself useful in other ways.

He's still a powerful presence on the forward line, and I think he's still got a few goals in him.

Don't write him off just yet!

Time simply has caught up with McKay as is does with us all eventually. Signs were there before he was given a new two year contract imo.  Whilst his mind is sharp enough the body cannot react to the minds request.
McKay’s type of game was based on fast running through and feed of, of knock-ons (aka Foran), or incisive pass (aka Doran). He doesn’t have the physique to deal with Doddsball type hoof up the park.
McKay will score again for ICT I’m sure, but they will be valued more by him I believe as time runs out.
It’s really now what is the type of game and when he participates and can make the most impact. This is and should be SK’s decision, not McKay. It’s the club that matters most, not the player.
