Haven't renewed my season ticket yet - not so much a protest as apathy brought on by the antics of the last few weeks. I'm sure I would have renewed anyway, but the announcement about David Raven has ensured I'll be down tomorrow to do so! The reason isn't that I think inclusion of DR will suddenly make us world beaters, but I like the gesture from the board to the fans and to DR: Loyalty begets loyalty and this will certainly help to unite, which is what this club is all about!7 points

Now get Meekings back to central defence alongside Warren, and we have a decent look about our defence!6 points

Great news. Good to see that the board, if not the ex manager, have listened to the fans.5 points

Suspect the Euros money was a deciding factor . Still think he is the better overall keeper3 points
-
Absolutely that. It was abundantly clear that whatever the reason was for not offering DR a new contract had nothing to do with his ability and full credit to those behind the scenes for concluding this important piece of business within days of the solitary impediment being removed. We are still very short of numbers but with the earlier news on OFW, we now have a very solid first choice goalkeeper and defence. Increasing reasons for optimism about next season.3 points

David and his family truly love Inverness and the club, so this is great news for them and us. Delighted to see you're staying David !!!3 points

Good luck to Yogi, He did us proud and who knows what could have happened if the money was there and the Board gave him their backing. I for one give a big thank you to the man and his vision of how football should be played, glimpses we saw when we were at our best. I only hope his possession and passing style can be adapted and adopted into a more offensive strategy by the new regime.2 points

Would a club start signing players (even fans' favourites like Dave the Rave) on 2 year deals without a new manager's blessing? ... Just a matter of time before Richie is unveiled me thinks.2 points
-
Woooooooow! I know we all wished this, but I never actually thought it would happen. Great to see the Board grew a pair and stuck their fingers up at Yogi in this one: Another sign of the disconnect between (ex) manager and board. I wonder if the timing of these signings is also a sign of the players' views on the removal of the manager.2 points

It's good to see that decisions are being made quickly and to those questioning the boards forward thinking maybe this decision will go a little way to proving that actually they do have a plan and know what they're doing along with listening to the fans as well. Remember they see and hear everything even when a manager doesn't and even when it doesn't seem they don't, not all business needs to be conducted in the press and media. Genuinly delighted with this news, probably the best right back we've had in recent years and a player who always gives it his all and someone who wants to be here.2 points

Lets hope the pre contracts are strikers and if so we may have an exciting team that with the right manager gives a bit of excitement for next season . Going from wishing the season was over a couple of weeks ago to looking forward to it starting and who the new guys will be.2 points

That's not how I read it. Options available to them could be candidates that KC has seeked out for/applicants that have applied for the job. Whilst Richie Foran will be the favourite, they might go left field and sign up a manager that nobody really thought of.2 points

Fantastic news. He's been through the mill the last few weeks so its good to get this sorted with plenty of time to enjoy the holiday. Before the work starts for season 20162 points

Brilliant news and we can start renewing our season tickets with optimism. Next season will be tough like any season in the SPFL. David is a very talented player. We need talented players. Let's hope that by Friday we have lots of good news coming from the club.2 points

Because they cant see past the end of their noses and everyone but Rangers is to blame for their troubles. Apparantly they've been outside Ibrox today burning scarves and season tickets in protest to the signing of Joey Barton. My understanding is that Barton has openly spoken out against Israel's treatment of Palestinians and Rangers fans somehow see that as anti-semitism2 points

Inevitable after OFW signed his contract. Despite missing the last few weeks, he made a significant contribution to our success last season. Best wishes for a successful and injury free remainder to his career.2 points

The reason why Latapy left has never been properly explained. I know he wanted to look for a manager's position of his own but it seemed odd and still seems odd that he should voluntarily render himself unemployed while doing so.2 points

So pleased for David and the fans. Now starting to look forward to next season with some optimism, some difference a week makes! Had a feeling this was going to get done so well done to the club for making it happen. A well deserved contract which was a no brainer to everyone except John Hughes.1 point

Law, Templeton and Clark have all been released. All good players I reckon. Whilst they may be unattainable financially it's very much a case of if you don't ask you don't get. Would not be surprised if Aberdeen have a look.1 point

So if they don't want to subscribe to the normal customs and practices of football, why was so much bending over backwards done in 2012 to accommodate them within the Scottish leagues?1 point

I'm really sorry to hear that Dean has gone. He was fantastic for us, and I'm sure he would have continued to be if not for his injury. I hoped that there would have been a way to keep both keepers. Good Luck Deano and thanks for the memories.1 point

Brian Rice's sudden appearance on the scene and the subsequent departure of Latapy was strange to say the least - and the two events were clearly connected - just not quite sure whether Latapy had already said he was off-ski or whether Rice's appearance prompted it! Either way, it would be better if Rice were to leave to enable a completely fresh start, but I suspect we cannot afford another severance payout......1 point

We seem to have quite a few of these associated with current players....you are absolutely right they appear to be as useful as an endowment mortgage....1 point

But we returned the favour by giving them an easy passage through to the semi-final of the wee cup.1 point

at least the people in the north stand have paid to get in, unlike one who uses his press pass. probably never paid to get into a game but contributes to a "FANS FORUM " and rubbishes others who are only voicing an opinion1 point

and not a single adverse comment from anyone on BBC Scotland about the constant illegal sectarian singing, that in itself is a disgrace on the part of the national public service broadcaster. I heard Stewart Doncaster being interviewed on the radio laying the blame for the pitch invasion on the Hampden authorities. It is an SFA competition and, in my view, the ultimate responsibility for any shortcomings lie with them but, of course, the SFA blazers never take responsibility for anything.1 point

I'm sure that there will be no shortage of applicants for the manager post. It provides a very good platform for anyone with the right skills to show exactly how good they can be. I think there will be a number of applicants who are young, dynamic and full of hunger for success and a determination to prove that they can do well out there. For me this is the type of manager I'd like to see (rather than a been there, done that type who sees ICT as a bit of a second best option). I think that this type of manager would fit in well with the general ethos within the team to be the best they can be and to always strive to prove the doubters wrong. I don't think mega wages would be a problem either as this type of manager would want the job, not for the money involved, but in order to prove their worth. Of course this all sounds very idealistic, and where the downfall would be would be that when success follows, it would only be a matter of time before our manager would start looking at bigger (but not necessarily better) prospects. This would be the point where maybe we have to be realistic and accept that once this seed has been sown it always signals the beginning of the end. We have seen it time and time again and whether a manager is tempted to take up a lucrative offer or is persuaded to stay, at that point they start to distance themselves from their role at ICT, so really what is the point in trying to hang on to someone who no longer wishes to be there. We have to perhaps change our mindset to see it as flattering that our club is seen as a great place for an aspiring manager and rather than feel rejected when they move on, be proud that Inverness played a part in their career and that they hopefully have happy memories of a successful time at our club. In other words we are like a feeder club for managers. I know how upsetting it is to see managers, and players too, being picked off by other clubs (Aberdeen for one), but if we can accept that this is how things are likely to play out then we can enjoy our clubs part in producing promising managers. And of course, we always get the last laugh anyway when 'The Curse of Caley Thistle' strikes when the try to reproduce what they had here elsewhere! I hope the team are enjoying their holidays and not getting too caught up in all this - I have every faith in them carrying us through whatever lies ahead and I hope Dave the Rave has not even started to think about packing up yet.1 point

John Hughes He has to be held as a club legend in his 2 and a half year spell, he won the scottish cup and took us to europe and a league cup final, not forgetting our highest ever league finish. He certainly went through his ups and downs, but in 50 years time what will he be thought of by ICT fans? He will be known as the man who brought the worlds oldest trophy up to Inverness. In 22 short years we have done what some clubs have not managed in over 100. We may never win it again, but he brought happy memories to every ICT fan. some people won't be happy he has gone, who knows what goes on behind the scenes, but to become an established premiership club in the last 10 years with only 1 little blip is incredible. The John Hughes chapter in ICT folklore is over. Whatever the board does, there will always be questions asked, there will always be mistakes made, but for all the success you have brought us. John hughes i thank you. Onwards and upwards into the next chapter. No matter who the next manager is i will be supporting ICT for years to come.1 point

It's not really valid for you to raise any issues in this thread, given that you don't pay for your entry to an ICT home game!1 point

"There's an understanding from me that we're not flush with cash. We have to be stringent about the way we do it." Clearly Hughes and the board have had discussions on cash flow/budget and he is well aware... no issue here. "I want to keep driving the club forward and keep getting into cup finals, into the top six. For the first time in our history, we took the club into Europe. "Why do it once and sit back and rest on your laurels? No, we want to do it every year." That's good.... same ambitions as the board but in line with what cash is available given above statement. "That's the standard that we set, but to do that, we need to start bringing a better quality of player to the club." Why don't we look at this as JH admitting that some of the players he brought in weren't of the quality, he made mistakes, but why come out and individually say Lopez wasn't good enough or whomever..... you're just slandering people and where's the need for that.... I think this is well said by JH without individually saying players haven't performed or been up to standard. This to me states that he has done what he maybe didn't have time to before the season and been identifying and scouting potential targets and then leaving it to the board to see if a deal could be done for the players he feels would fit the mould. People are reading far too much into things.... the press will always twist stories to make them sound more fantastical or controversial. I think Hughes knows this season has been poor in comparison to last but I think, much like Mr Ranieri south of the border wants to cool down expectations of a club that has overachieved.... at the end of the day, what do you think the aim will be for Leicester next season? I would guarantee you it would be to stay in the league and anything else a bonus.1 point

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.
That's another fine mess you've got us into.-

New Chairman Wanted, Apply Within
tm4tj posted an article in News 2023-24,
Chairman Ross Morrison resigns
Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June. More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.
Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”
Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.
“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.
“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”-
