  1. More power to you! Noting also what you've said about your meeting with the club yesterday, if you could regularly get coverage in the local papers then that could help bring some more fans in or back. Hopefully more positive stories about less controversial topics. But if you can give the impression that there is an active, forward-looking Supporters' Trust, working with the club - well, that can't be a bad thing, can it?
  2. Caley Away are quite clearly the upper echelon compared to your common or garden ICT fan but debate rages as to which faction of Caley Away sits at the top table, votes please on the following: The Very Young Team (NSB, UI18 et al) The Older Youngish Team (seem to have largely grown out of it and disappeared) 30 something Central Belt Crew Random Younger Independent Diehards Expat Sneck Students (incl. non-sneck mates who look bored to death) Last of the Summer Wine Lunatic Fringe Supporters Bus Worthies Blue Rinse Brigade Random non-aligned Old Team I'm going for the Random Younger Independent Diehards. Avoid the herd mentality, plough a solitary furrow and turn up everywhere from Highland League pre-seasons to mid week Irn-Bru Cup replays in Stranraer. Respect is due.
  3. You are certainly right regarding the City's lack of affinity for the club. This has always been the case except when the team 'shocks' the city by reaching cup finals and winning one of them. The city turned out in their thousands when they paraded the cup but where are those folk now? I suspect many wanted to see the cup rather than the team that won it . I think one of the biggest problems the club has is the location of the ground? Stuck out on a limb with nothing there for pre-match attraction or entertainment. Yes there is now sports bar at the ground but the last time I was in there it offered very little (nothing) to entice me back.
  4. Just to let you know that our Chair, Stewart Murdoch, Secretary, Jennifer Aitchison and I met with Yvonne Crook yesterday afternoon. We had a very constructive and wide ranging discussion which bodes very well for our future engagement with the club. I am sure you will appreciate that in such a meeting there are things which are said off the record in order to help develop both a better understanding of the issues and mutual trust. I'll therefore hold off from providing more detail until we have an agreed record of the meeting which can be shared. What I will say now is that I picked up on several of the points and suggestions recently voiced on CTO in various threads. Moving forward, I think that using the Supporter's Trust to summarise the often diverse views of fans as voiced on CTO, is going to be a very useful channel of communication. I sense a genuine desire from the club to develop better engagement with the supporters and can say a bit more about that when we have the agreed notes of the meeting.

He's not been heard from since his face to face with Alan Simpson. ?

Maybe getting better quality service, guess we will see by the end of the season but perhaps it's not the stats that suggest out or forwards are guff but the lack of quality around them?
  7. 1 point
And he has just scored a second goal!
  8. Find another thread for this guff. Off topic.
  9. To be fair, that's better than when Paterson threatened to blow up people's houses...
  10. NATO called, and would like their logo back
  11. Football is an entertainment business. If you don't get entertained you don't go back. This is the problem we spent nearly half our existence in the top flight. We got entertained folk turned out to watch the bigger clubs like the old firm, Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts etc come to the TCS. playing alloa greenock Morton etc on a cold icy windy Saturday afternoon down the TCS doesn't gave the same appeal. Hearts, Hibs and Rangers all lots thousands of attendees to matches when they were in the lower leagues we are no different. The product to be entertained is not there it's as simple as that.
  12. Skip over it then champ, or perhaps furnish us with a list of topics which are acceptable for us to discuss in your presence oh fuhrer. ?
  13. Thing is. Whilst playoffs keep the league interesting, they are disproportionate to the league. You can essentially be a mid table team, miles of the pace and feel like you are in a with a chance of promotion. We almost made playoffs last season after a horrendous start. Half expecting Falkirk or partick to do the same. Essentially we need to tailor our expectations until we improve the squad. Accept we are mid table with no devine right to beat anyone whilst capable of getting results against the top sides occasionally.
  14. There is nothing revisionist about it, its a hard fact to accept I Know, but If that belief consoled you through our relegation and slump into mediocrity then I'm happy for you. Hughes knew another striker was a must he lost two in 6 months the board chose to appoint an inexperienced yes man in his place and paid the price, the error was confirmed by the resignation of our Chairman, what is revisionist about that?
  15. There are many reasons our crowds are down but having substantially lower away supports is a factor. Don't agree that the level of performance/results is as big a factor as some people make out. Falkirk reported a crowd of over 5000 for their recent home game against us and they were almost bottom of the league. Not sure what those criticising the board expect them to do as most of the suggestions here have already been tried with no success. In my opinion, the city of Inverness has no affinity for the club. Whether that is because so many people now are fairly new to residing in Inverness and have no history for the city, I don't know but until that changes, cannot see attendances increasing hugely. I also think some fans need a dose of realism. For the majority of our existence, things have been positive but now they are not. Most football teams go through this, even the Old Firm and we just have to work our way through this.
  16. Had to reply to this. Sitting on a beach in Panama right now. Starting to wonder why I came here. The drugs you are on dougie boy are obviously better than anything from round here!!!!
  17. A good guy vigurs hope justice is done and he gets away with it
  18. I thought we employed an expert with vast experience in this field?
  19. I agree with Eagle4Caley. I keep reading that the board/club need to be more open/communicate more but communicate what exactly. Is the communication worse now than previously, in my opinion it isn't any worse or better than previous boards and to suggest or imply this is affecting attendances is nonsense. The majority of fans attend each week because they want to support their club, they don't attend thinking what are the board going to say this week. That is not to say they don't care or are not interested but in terms of attending a match, it is of little relevance. I simply don't see fans of other clubs demanding the board need to communicate more as a pre-requisite to some fans actually attending matches which some appear to be suggesting. Our attendances in the Championship are probably the third lowest with Falkirk getting at least double ours, is this because their board communicate more, I very much doubt it.
  20. Surely any business worth its salt would be doing some market research to actually find out why the attendances are falling. They should be getting out on the streets and asking some basic questions. What about going to season ticket holders who haven't renewed - that would be a good starting point. There's the website too - put a questionnaire on that. Of course publish the results and see if there's a common thread. Surely worth a try.
  21. ICT issued 100's of free tickets for home games to local primary schools since the club was formed and I would be surprised if they don't so now
  22. Need to step back as too many only remember good times and been spoilt by recent success. There's clubs much older and better supported that would be envious of what ict have achieved. Right now its a downwards trajectory but we need to support the club and get a stable platform to build the next wave of success however that must also be realistic in expectations. Thoughts of cup wins, finals and ventures to Europe are rarity and can't be expected as the norm. Pit a plan in place to develop talent and maintain sensible costs and we as fans should back the club - the lack of leadership and transparency needs to be addressed now to encourage continued support next season from anyone other than die hards
  23. Closer to home, let’s get Tomatin involved. Sure that would please the red n black stalwarts among us and a final tribute to Jock? No idea how much change something like that would run ?
  24. Aimless punting balls forward in old school 442 formation. Apparently it is Jose that football has left behind. People keep asking why people are staying away. Half way through the first half I suspect most at the game wish they had.
  25. Not up for the game from the start whole team awful 1st half. The whole bloody lot of them need to take a look at themselves. Partick niggled & fouled, wasted time whole we were taken for a bunch of amateurs. Not good enough!!
  26. Amazon might be interested in an investment to name it ' Campa Ùr an Amazon' home of Nessie. A Gaelic name seems very appropriate.

Plastic pitches have no place on our top league and maybe should be banned in championship too so I totally ageee with you.
  28. Oh no he didn't... Oh yes he did... Etc, etc
  29. I reckon its snowflakes like elginer that are driving people away.
  30. Hughes got dunted because he lost the plot and started demanding money the club did not have as well as acting like a knobend in every interview he did.
  31. What is the motivation of these fans ? I realise they wish to show their disappointment and displeasure at performances. Is it just a young male problem ? Is it a society problem ?. I say this because , I see very little respect in he media , for important members of society . People these days do not hold back in venting their frustration, in ways in my day would not have been tolerated. I have no answer ? My Dad always said " treat other people as you would wish to be treated yourself, courtesy costs nothing". If people do not enjoy their football, why go to the matches? Imagine if these supporters were Notts County fans, the oldest club in football, founder member of the original football league, about to drop out of the EFL into obscurity. They would really have something to moan about. !!! Yes Johnjo you will see them at Chorley next year, amazing !!!
  32. So the fact that you don’t have a season ticket ,rarely attend home games and freely admit to not buying official merchandise you ain’t really adding to the coffers or contributing to the club you seem to have a lot to say about then? Dougal

I fear he will be overwhelmed by the Premiership atmosphere and massive crowds at New Douglas Park.
  34. Yogi did a great job with Butcher's players no doubt. However Hughes was not sacked to make way for Foran, that's simply not true If that's what you believe. The board wanted initially to strongly keep him as he was refused permission to talk to Dundee Utd. Otherwise they would have let him go and made money from it, no? Of course if we had let him go then people would be complaining about that also. The issues stemmed from that point onward. Obviously he resented that, dispite being on a pretty good contract with us. He demanded more and more cash dispite having the largest budget we'd ever given a manager and his signings were **** poor. He publicly and repeatedly slated the board and clearly the relationship between them became untenable. If any employee repeatedly berates their employer in the press then there's only going to be one outcome. Hughes manuvered his own exit, this was clear for anyone to see, as I'm sure he knew he'd be well compensated and could then get his next gig. Which was of course a rousing success. The disastrous appointment of Foran (both the appointment itself and length of his contract) was the biggest mistake the board made in many years but that's got nothing to do with Hughes.
  35. Yep totally agree with you! I think it is a society problem, its a parenting problem and its an ignorant person's issue with low self confidence which is manifested through acts of verbal aggression. Sure i felt down and a bit bewildered at our game plan against Partick (and im no expert) but i would never shout the comments at Polworth or Mackay after they made a mistake. If its any conciliation, i wanted to applaud Storey when he came off. He was awesome for us in the premiership and he excelled up the wing on sat, bravo young man :)
