  1. I would have had a great deal more respect for RF had he admitted that our terrible and ultimately disastrous season was as a result of his naïve and inexperienced managerial mistakes but that lessons have been learned and that mistakes, oft repeated this season, will be eliminated next. However, instead, he ducked responsibility and tried to scapegoat players that he did not even have the guts to name. That demonstrates to me that not only does he not have the ability and experience to manage he doesn't have the character which is worse. Ability can be learned and experience gained. However, character and decency of treatment cannot. If Foran had accepted his very large share of responsibility I might have had sympathy for the notion of giving him until Christmas to show whether lessons have been learned. However, these post match comments have convinced me once and for all that he can never be the man for the job. One thing we will need in abundance next saeason is a positive team spirit and sense of togetherness. No manager with the attitude Richie demonstrated yet again and more starkly than ever in his final post match interview of the season is ever going to be capable of providing that unity. Other very good Championship teams are already preparing for next season. We need to be having a management cull this week to be ever to give the new man, whoever he may be, the maximum amount of time to do the same.
  2. Carl tremarco won fans player of the year. And he's being awarded it at the first home game of next season.
  3. If it hadn't been for events at New Douglas Park, that would have been an enjoyable game. First half was quiet, but better quality than many this season. Motherwell certainly made a game of it. A great 10 minutes to go 3-0 up: great strike from Tansey and Fisher got a couple...as he deserved for his effort. The atmosphere went flat when Hamilton scored, only reignited when a crazy rumour circulated that Dundee had scored 2. Applauded the players off, but couldn't bear to stay on, so missed the afters. Tansey didn't deserve abuse, but I wasn't impressed with his after-match interview. Good performance, sad day.
  4. Eh Alan, maybe you need to lay off the roids! You're calling out someone for a fight? Really? Get a f****n grip!
  5. But the JH situation appears to have been the trigger for much that happened afterwards. While not totally to blame for our current predicament, in my opinion JH certainly sowed some seeds of discontent that have continued into this season.
  6. This should be just another nail in Foran's coffin. Wrong team, wrong tactics, wrong management style, wrong man for the job.
  7. Like everything else flying around at this time this could be pure speculation ,but if there is any truth in it I feel disgusted as it has cost us very dearly .Alex Fisher has proved his worth over the last few games and the club should do everything in their power to keep him .If Richie holds on to his job he should be put on a man management course as these boys give up a lot to come and play for ICT .To be penalised for going home on a planned visit is quite unforgivable .
  8. Once again Foran is blaming his players and talking about throwing out "bad apples" He is the worst of all. His man management and leadership skills do not seem to exist. He needs to look very closly in the mirror to decide what he can or cannot do! - Managing football is not one them. I sincerely hope that he has no future job prospects with ICT.
  9. If I was a board member I would have sacked RF for his post match interview today. What an absolute disgrace. Even the Sportsound pundits were having a right go at him for that.
  10. A very tough day yesterday. I want to thank everyone this season i have met up with had a drink with and went to games with. Been a long hard season but the crac has been greatno matter what. Amazing club with amazing fan's. Very proud to call myself a caley jag. Roll on next season so we can begin the fight back
  11. In keeping with the ICT tradition of doing something a bit radical, I'm really warming to the Darren Dods idea. He has successfully steered Brechin through League 1 and will be managing at our level next season anyway. I watched most of the game on Alba yesterday and they actually play football, something most of us struggle to remember
  12. Foran has to go and we must appoint a manager with proven experience who will be able put together a squad capable and ready from the first game to make a concerted challenge for the league. Ritchie was a hero of mine as a player but he should never have been appointed as manager and I don't have any confidence that things would improve next season under his control.
  13. The downward spiral began whist JH was still here. The post split points we picked up flattered us and if you remove the points picked up against Aberdeen and County we had relegation fight form.
  14. From the subject line, I wasn't sure whether someone was looking for scouts to work for the manager, or for scouts to help find a new manager. It was only when I clicked on the link that the penny dropped! Presumably the game has a special function only for ICT - completely random "lucky dip" team selection.
  15. Foran has a lot to learn and in any form of management an early lesson is to praise in public and to chastise in private.
  16. Sorry cif I think I know what you are driving at but I cannot get onboard with it regarding RF. Unless ur Zinedine Zidane and walk straight in at R Madrid, anyone's 1st year in management is going to be tough. I have not not seen a single positive to draw from this season that would give me any hope of making a swift return next year. Every aspect of his management re tactics/formations/line ups stated in previous post would give me major cause for concern if he is sat on our bench come the first day of next season.
  17. Caley Jags Together will continue as before working in the community. The I C T Supporters Travel Club will deal with buses to away games only. This is basically what has happened for the past season anyway.
  18. No way, not for me. Him and the Board are the reason we're in this mess! He's learnt nothing, his post match interviews are excruciating, and his team selections are just random (even yesterday we started with Fisher playing left wing!). It's no coincidence that results have improved in recent weeks only since the introduction of Malpas. It's a shame as he was a great player for us but, please, he must go!
  19. OFW - (Contact Summer 2019). Would've kept him if we had stayed up, however, if a release can be negotiated (and I think he'd want to leave) then get rid of him. Not the worst keeper, but not the best either. RELEASE. Esson - (Contract Summer 2018). Keep as a back up/coach. Won't be on too big a wage and has lots of experience. KEEP. Mackay - (Contract unknown). Keep and make 1st choice. He's been in and around the 1st team for a while now and it's a good time to give him a chance. If he's struggling, then we have the experience of Esson to call upon. KEEP Raven - (Contact January 2018). Been one of our best players over the last few weeks and loves the club. Definitely keep - would do a good job in the championship. KEEP Laing - (Out of contract). I've been a big fan of Laing since he came and would definitely keep him, although I expect he may want to go. If he is willing to stay then I would love to see him get a new deal. KEEP Warren - (Contract Summer 2019) Definitely keep. Exactly the kind of player we need to get us back up. Him and Laing have looked solid together. I think he'd be on a fair wage, however, I'm wondering if this might be a problem. KEEP Meekings - (Out of contact). Can't see him staying. Expect to see him in an Aberdeen shirt next season with them needing a new CB. IF a new deal can be agreed then great, but I would be content with Laing and Warren. He's been a great servant over the years, shame he won't get a proper send off. KEEP (Unlikely though) Mckay - (Out of contract). Keep. Solid player and I think he'd do well in the Championship (probably his level). KEEP McNaughton - (Out of contract). Keep. Again, experience could be invaluable. Hopefully he would be affordable. KEEP Horner - (out of contract). Has to go. Shocked at some saying he should be kept for his versatility. The fact is, he's terrible wherever he plays. How he's still with us I don't know. RELEASE. Tremarco (Contract Summer 2018) Goes without saying that we need Carl to stay. He's been fantastic and will be quality in the Championship. He's already talking about next season so he clearly wants to stay. KEEP Tansey (OFF) - Sad to see Greg go. Find some of the abuse he got yesterday shocking. One of the best midfielders in the league in my opinion, and the kind of player I love. Drags us through games at times with his range of passing. In fairness, he'll be 29 soon so we probably had the best of him. Worst part will be seeing him in an Aberdeen shirt. GONE Draper (Contract Summer 2019) - In my opinion, the biggest bit of business this summer is keeping Drapes. I can't see it, he'll surely want off, but it would be great if we could keep him. We need that sort of player in the Championship. I think he mentioned when he signed a new deal last time that his family love it here and he's got a child growing up here, so hopefully that will tempt him to stay. I do fear, though, that his wages might prove too much for us. If he leaves, then we need to make sure we get some good money for him. KEEP Polworth - Contract until Summer 2019) - Has to stay. He's been shoved out onto the wing this season to accommodate Tansey and Draper. Whenever he has played through the middle, he has been the best player on the pitch. I'm hoping next season he comes into his own. KEEP Doran (Contact until Summer 2018) - Tough one. I can't see him getting many offers from elsewhere with him practically having 2 years out. My gut feeling is to keep him. On his day, he is (was) one of the best wingers in the top flight. That year where he finished top for assists, he just sprayed cross after cross in for Billy and was the main reason we did so well. If he can get back to that then he could be big for us. I'd say keep him if he takes a wage cut (although, if he's under contact I guess he can't be forced to take a wage cut?) KEEP Mulraney - (Contract until Summer 2018) - Not too fussed. Has shown moments of brilliance, but have a feeling that him and Foran don't get on too well. If he stays he will do well next season but blow hot and cold. If he goes, I won't be gutted. I'd say keep if we can afford and if not, bin. (NOT SURE) Vigurs - (Contract until Summer 2018) - like everyone else, he frustrates me. I like him as a player and he has moments of brilliance, but at times he is so frustrating. I'd say with Tansey going we should keep him and, especially in the championship, I think his quality will shine through. KEEP Fisher - (Out of contract) - Hope he stays. Hopefully the love affair with the fans at the moment persuades him. Can see some bottom 6/St Johnstone kind of club taking him on with his recent goal spurt probably catching their eye. If he stays, give him the number 9 shirt and I reckon he'll bang in 20+. KEEP Anier -(Out of contract) - Hopeless. Offers nothing anywhere on the pitch and if the ball comes near him, just chooses to foul the defender. RELEASE. Boden - (Contract until Summer 2019) - In fairness to him, he's not been given much of a chance. I'd keep him and see what he's like in the Championship - he clearly has something about him after scoring so many for Newport. KEEP Ebbe (Out of contract) - Looked good in Dev league and deserves a chance. KEEP Out of all the loan players, I wouldn't keep any bar Billy (which I can't see happening). RF did say he'd like to keep 10 of yesterdays XI which gives me hope, but I can't see it. McCart has done well since coming in, but apart from that, all of the loan players have been disappointing. Foran - (Contract until 2020) - Richie has been thrown in at the deep end this season. Yes, he's made mistakes (none more so that Fisher's exile), but I would keep him. He has had to contend with injuries at the wrong times, player issues, and the club trying to recover from losing valuable players. Most of his signings have looked good on paper (McNaughton, King, Cole) but haven't materialised for a variety of reasons. There is no point sacking him now that we are down. He will have learnt so much from this season and if he was going to be sacked, it would have been done by now. We also can't afford to sack him. As he mentioned yesterday, his experience of winning Div 1 will be good too and I feel he will turn things around next season. He loves the club and you can see the passion in him and that counts for so much. KEEP So next season, we have a potential starting XI of... Mackay Raven Laing Warren Tremarco Draper Polworth Vigurs Doran Fisher Boden Back Ups Esson McNaughton, McKay Mulraney Ebbe. Clearly, in the summer, we will need to bulk up the midfield as we're looking a bit bare there.
  20. Well it was a up hill battle battle from the start. The board, remaining players and management need to take a long hard look at themselves over the summer. Still i don't regret flying over for this day. Got to be there for the bad times if you can do the good ones. I'll follow the club to any division. Still hurting today and will for a while but we must start rebuilding now
  21. Well the answer to your last question is easy.....NO! I would not trust Foran to run a bath never mind a football team!
  22. 2 points
Time for Sutherland, Cameron and their cronies to come out of the shadows and tell us what the plan is moving forward. I can't believe the easy ride they got yesterday. A few choruses of "sack the board" and that was it. These clowns are asleep at the wheel and have to be held to account. Absolutely shameful that a board can lead us over the precipice in this manner and then give no indication as to their intentions. It's clear that they need to step aside and let new blood, with new ideas, move the club forward.
  23. Reading the STV website, the "2 or 3" did not include the starting 11. I'm gutted. 9 points out of 12 shows what we should have been capable of, but too little too late. With 5350 there today, that must have been 5000 home fans: highest since Astra? If only we could get that week out n week out! When Hammer Lyon went ahead, the atmosphere flattened, inevitably. I read Tansey got stick when the players came back out after the game. I'd gone by then, but if that is true, it is a disgrace and those jeering him should be ashamed. To the game, poor first half, but came alight with the three quick goals. When the MOM goes live, my picks will be Fisher, Tansey and Laing. A sad day, if a tear in my eye at full time, but hopefully the club structure and key personalities are decided quickly so there insolently time for rebuilding.

Its a real shame Fisher never saw many matches in the beginning. perhaps if he saw more everything could be different, probably better not to think about it... Anier by the way is just awful.
  25. Absolutely shameful interview. The only one looking bad is Foran. Very few players who didn't start - and he seems to be exempting all of them - were not his signings. And as is blatantly obvious, if he can't manage them and has to resort to raising it in public, well... For me it extends beyond that. Who in the squad can trust Foran going forward, knowing that he's liable to hang folk out to dry in public?

Doubt the Builder will have any influence when KC goes More like the Crane man or the flesh peddler will pick up the club for £1 Pity all of these guys couldn't have pulled together for the good of the club rather than for their egos and we would be in a better situation than most clubs of our size.

So Foran how do you explain your complete mismanagement of our top scorer and fans favourite Alex Fisher. We could not buy a win during a terrible run during the winter but you still refused to play him and not only that you went out and blew the budget on 3 additional strikers in the window.
  28. So the curtain comes crashing down on another, and arguably our worst ever, season. Yet, like an abrupt ending to a poor movie, I'm left wondering why events unfolded as they did: Why was an untried rookie manager given a 4 year contract? Why, when it's been obvious for months we were headed for relegation, was the manager not removed from his post? If, as being rumoured, RF and BR don't get on, why wasn't RF given the opportunity to choose his own assistant months ago? Malpas was brought in with just 5 games remaining, why was this not done sooner? Why was Fisher, our top scorer, cast (pardon the pun) aside for much of the season? What is going on at Boardroom level? Does David Sutherland still have an influence on the Board, and if so what's in it for him, and is it preventing others from investing? Has there ever before been such a rapid descent of a football club from winning the national cup and qualifying for Europe to relegation in less than 2 years? Why was John Hughes given a contract extension after being refused permission to speak to Dundee Utd and yet the relationship between him and the Chairman to turn so sour so soon after? What happens now? .....to be continued?

Do you know that I have more pressing concerns in life to concern myself about the "post mortem" of our relegation. Shitt happens. We have been performing above our means for some seasons now BUT what a feckin joy it has been. What a feckin experience. So we have gone down. Aim has to be to retain as many of the present squad as we can do. Aim is to get back into a play-off position. Que sera. HOPE IS ETERNAL.
  30. This is Sunday, they'll all be at the Kirk.
  31. Read your initial reply to my post. You suggested that I must find relegation and financial loss "entertaining" ... hence my response indicating that I actually care for the club. I was not forming opinions of others, I was defending myself. Would you like the "entertaining" comment said of yourself purely for expressing a different opinion? Would you consider it personal?
  32. If we finish 4th by the way it gives us a shout at promotion through the play offs. Surely achievable .
  33. Absolutely not. Hartley is not a good manager and fail to see why some people rate him so highly.
  34. Nothing here is blaming Hughes, it's fully pointing the finger at the Board
  35. Talk about going into administration is probably premature. We made a small loss last financial results but the three years before made profits. We don't have any external debt either. Who knows when it comes to football clubs finances though.
  36. I wonder how many of the players we want to keep will make their decision based largely on who the manager is? (Polite way of asking which of them will be off like a shot if Foran is staying)
  37. 1 point
And from the board............. The Sound of Silence
  38. I've had this earworm since I started reading through this thread so everybody else might as well too...
  39. I wholeheartedly agreed with Tansey's comments, he has given his all for the club this year and I think he was just responding to those who questioned his efforts after signing for the Dons. I felt Sportsound took his comments the wrong way, unfairly. As for Foran's 'Bad Apple' quote, in the interview I heard after the game, although he mentioned he wanted to get rid of 3, possibly 4 players, I never heard him use that actual phrase. Was that in a different interview?
  40. 12 out of 13 surely?
  41. Did anyone else wake this morning and, just for a second or two, question if it had all just been a bad dream?!
  42. We won't be coming up for a good while. The whole Outlook of this club has to change. We have to get rid of this old boys network. Who was the last youth player to cone through the ranks? Polworth? No one can tell me there's no decent players in Inverness. I coach youth football and I see players week in and week out who are good enough. The whole structure of the club is rotten, we've no decent scouting system, no connection with the local community, and our youth structure is non existent. To many old boys in it for the kudos, and until that changes we're going to be on a long downward slope.
  43. We've been in the top flight for 11 of the last 12 seasons. Very few teams have bettered that!
  44. How do you propose that we release players who still have a contract?!
  45. Would love to get Brill back if possible...
  46. 1 point
He often came on late, but every time I saw him his work rate and application, the creation of chances was light years ahead of Doomby. Yet he was never given a chance.
  47. I'm afraid so. The damage, of course, was done weeks/months ago. I just hope the mini revival over the last couple of weeks doesn't give the powers that be the excuse to stick with Richie for another season. I feel sure we will struggle , even in the Championship, with him at the helm.
  48. Wow - fantastic!! He is the worst manager in our history - he should be hiding up the tunnel not parading in front of our fans.
