caleyd being made redundant from his IT consultant role.

That maybe explains his severe lack of humour recently or has he always been so miserable ?

Did he no volunteer to do it?

IT consultant?????? :D

I'm not aware of any job losses as yet, but unfortunately it is almost certain that there will be some casualties. I hope there aren't many as we have to be ready to bounce back, difficult as that may be we need to be ready for it.

It's when you leave a job you get your papers handed to you. All official stuff, with your national insurance numbers etc, for tax reasons I presume and for benefits purposes.

Commonly known as your jotters.

heres the technical terminology.

You get a P45 from your employer when you stop working for them. It's a record of your pay and the tax that's been deducted from it so far in the tax year. It shows:

your tax code and PAYE (Pay As You Earn) reference number

your National Insurance number

your leaving date

your earnings in the tax year

how much tax was deducted from your earnings

A P45 has four parts - Part 1, Part 1A, Part 2 and Part 3. Your employer sends Part 1 to HMRC and gives you the other three. When you start a new job, or claim Jobseeker's Allowance, you give Part 2 and Part 3 to your new employer or to the Jobcentre. You keep the remaining one - Part 1A for your own records.

Your employer should automatically give you a P45 when you stop working for them. If not, ask for it - you're entitled to it by law.

It's a bit of a myth that you get handed your P45 to signify your dismissal. You actually get it sent to you days or weeks after the event. It can't be produced until after you've had your final pay.

I can recollect the case of a guy who worked in a bonded whisky warehouse in Glasgow, who "accidently" managed to get himself locked in the building overnight.

He was wheeled out on a trolley next morning, singing and gurgling contentedly to himself.

Later on that day, he discovered someone had kindly and thoughtfully stapled his P45 to his jacket lapel!

Cant confirm, but also Stuart Garden - Full-Time Goalkeeping Coach? Wasnt there a rumour going that Les Fridge would replace him on a part-time basis.

It would be nice if we were kept up to date with all staffing developments, not just on the playing side - not are we are kept up to date much on that side either!

The board feel it is much more important to feed us info like this :

David Sutherland is the new Honorary President of the club and Ken Mackie and Roddy Ross are the new Vice Honorary Presidents of the club

Charlie Bannerman will be along soon to slag off all us negative posters.
