and who mentioned the Duratti Column!

I did (but I spelled it right - Durutti) - check out 'In Debt' by Disco Inferno for a mix between Durutti Column and Joy Division. http://starscapesays.blogspot.com/

For the last couple of days I've been listening to The Organ (terrible name for a band). They were recommended to me and sound like a whole load of new wave bands, like Cure, Joy Division, Souixsie, Cocteau Twins, Cult etc. but they're fairly recent. PM me if you want a sample.

After seeing dananananaykroyd for the 4th or 5th time last night, I'm going to make the bold prediction that they will be one of the biggest bands in Scotland next year.

Simply awesome! :rotflmao:

As good as the guy in your avatar?

Ha :rotflmao:

Cliff is my avatar in response to someone on the board (Smee?) thinking my positivity was akin to his sickly cheery nature.

Along with dananananaykroyd i'll also stick Frightened Rabbit in the list of 2009 massive scottish bands. Their album 'Midnight Organ Fight' is very close to being my album of 2008.

My prediction of Twilight Sad being massive in 2008 has fallen short a bit, but it's their own fault by screwing up their live lineup.

It was indeed me that made the Cliff jibe. If i recall...i sed you "remind me of Cliff Richard, make of that what you will"....mibees i was referring to your age defying looks, or your love for Sue Barker :rotflmao:

Old John Peel programmes downloaded from http://www.30242.net/

Just listened to sessions from Anhrefn, Age of Chance and The Bhundu Boys, with sessions from Primal Scream and the Happy Mondays recorded before they'd even released an album. Classic!
