Yet again, this time in the Record, there is a story linking us with an improved bid for the County midfielder.

Posted

This subject was very briefly touched on last night, and by CC's comment I would expect to see John Rankin here in the Summer. He didn't say as much, but reading between the lines I think it is on the cards

That makes 3 of us then - more in what wasn't said than what was said on this occasion.

I also wonder when DFS will be purchasing our Chinese feeder team?

Another failed bid for him.

£50k turned down :007:

Not much more than we offered last time and less than St Mirren did.

Let's hope he wants to join us and can force the issue a bit

Posted

I really can't see him coming to us. We won't offer a bid that will be seen as acceptable to the County board and I don't think he will risk forcing an issue out of the situation.

Fit aboot turning our attentions to Don Cowie then? From what i remember, Celtic were after him: not to say that automatically means he's good, but its a good sign.

Anyone seen him play?

At the moment no-one has put any bids in for Cowie. Rankin has recieved 4 maybe 5 bids this year alone; they may be looking for a bigger offer for Rankin whereas may not get the luxury of auctioning off Cowie.

Are you sure? Ask any County fan and they will tell you that Cowie has been by far superior to Rankin over the course of the season for them.

County might be wise to accept the Caley thistle bid--if Rankin comes to Tulloch and is successful County will then know that they can train up the troops, sell them on to ICT and benefit financially. And their boys will see Rankin's progress and be anxious to follow him to Tulloch Stadium--home of THE successful team. Ict are no longer wee Highland League material anymore you know.--is that not right IHE?

And.. a bird in the hand is worth two in the bushhink. :016:

There are meant to be 4 SPL clubs in for Rankin. ICT, St Mirren and 2 others.

It will surely be up to the player where he wants to go as opposed to a transfer fee.

There has been no word on Rankin down Dundee way lads although I'm sure he's a good player.

Dundee United are one of the others :008:

Are you sure Rankin would get a say?!

He was keen to leave in the January window but was told to stay put!!

Heard some positive news over the weekend that we shall be making another attempt to sign Rankin sooner rather than later
