seriously though - it could be one of many things - from a virus right through to a pooched CMOS battery (IBMs are bad for that one) and your description is just too vague. suggest you take it to a computer shop for a health check !

good chance yer battery is goosed or not getting charged, I have had numerous problems with leads breaking at the dc connector which plugs into the back of the laptop.  The unfortunate thing about this part of the charging lead breaking is it is attached to the transformer and a new lead may well cost anything up to ?100 pounds.  I am now an expert at repairing the connectors.

fixed it unlpug the cable from the wall and lap top and after 20mins its now working

had 2 days of it not working
