Canada : A Forward Thinking Country?

Just heard tonight that Canada has refused Respect MP, George Galloway entry into that country after certain Jewish factions complained he could be a threat to national security because of his beliefs on the Israeli/Lebanon/Gaza situation.

How pathetic is that?

Certain Jewish lobby groups (which have no democratic mandate to represent the jewish community) such as the ADL are so aggressive and OTT that they actually probably encourage anti-semitism rather than combat it IMHO.

Blatantly partisan propaganda campaigns (such as the 'threat' posed to the west by Iran and the lie that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be 'wiped off the map') are never questioned by our lazy media.

Who is George Galloway a threat to? All of his criticisms of Israel are legitimate and humanitarian. The very act of criticizing Israel is being criminalized. That's not a good precedent to set in a supposedly free society.

The leader of our opposition Liberals in the House of Commons today stated that if Stephen Harper (Prime Minister, Conservative) was bowing to pressure and did not want to allow Galloway in to speak freely then that is an "outrage". However, he also said that if Galloway genuinely was viewed as a security threat then that is an entirely different matter.

What the truth is here we probably will never know , but he could,not have wished for better publicity.

And Step-hen Harperion is hardly the most decisive of leaders, I kid you not. Streuth!!!!!!!

What's he going for - is there a new Canadian Celeb Big Brother starting ?

If they let him in, could we not instigate a similar ban here to stop him returning.

Whilst I sympathise with most of his causes I find him pretty nauseating.

As long as we don't presume that comments or actions of Government in {almost} any country reflects the views or values of the citizens {who somehow voted the r soles in} we would see Canada, the UK or most anywhere in a better light.

What has happened in Canada ,is the govt has these rich lobbiests on their doorstep all the time.

So a rich but very small minority can sway the govt into doing things that most wouldn't care about.
