This is going to be deleted and im going to be banned from this forum but this needs to be said....

I dont understand why CaleyMad was banned? He said "**** off Butcher" a few times and he put up a harmless picture. What is wrong with these Mods? This is too far. We cannot state our points of view if they contradict a Mods view? Thats rediculous!

Even banning me for this, which will no doubt happen is rediculous and you all need to lighten up a bit!

So here is the picture that got him banned....

If that's the reason he's given you for being banned then he's feeding you a line. He got 2 warning increases for a culmination of things and the final straw was a post (which has been deleted) where he had continued to push his luck despite being made aware of the consequences.

You're not going to be banned because your buddy is obviously feeding you a line, but I will tell you that "Mob Rule" will not be tolerated and we will not enter into any further discussion with you (or anyone) on this (or any other) thread. If Caleymad wishes to discuss the decision to give him a 3 day suspension then he can e.mail us on [email protected]

Nobody is stopping anyone from having a point of view, but if you can't do it in a civilised manner then your posts will be edited or removed. I can assure you, if we were to remove all the posts that contradicted a mods opinion and banned the user then we'd have an empty forum....so your claim is ridiculous.

Furthermore......

The moderators ability to run an efficient forum is being hindered by those who think they are free to come on here and do as they please without being held to account, or who spit the dummy when they have a thread moved/edited/deleted.

We will not allow the majority to suffer as the result of a problem few and we will no longer accept Moderators being publicly slated for upholding the rules or undertaking general housekeeping.

We have rules, they are there for a reason and if you can't adhere to them, then goodbye.

If you, or anyone else, wants to continue a discussion on how and why moderators do anything then please use the PM facility.

DC - fair play for standing up for your mate, but CaleyD is 100% correct.

The withdrawal of account privileges for 72 hours isnt for a single incident of swearing/abuse, its for a pattern of behaviour stretching back months.

The picture was indeed a factor in our decision today, but that only happened after the poster made his own decision to push his luck on several occasions after being warned. (note: warned - not banned). It was the posters decision to keep pushing and pushing, not ours, and as we dont have the time to babysit someone who's only aim is to disrupt the forum then we imposed the 72 hour account suspension.

It is not a sine-die ban, it is a 72 hour account suspension. If the same poster continues to push us after the 72 hours is up, it may be a week next time, or it may be permanent ... that is entirely up to the poster. Equally, if the poster takes part in discussions and generally toes the line as far as the site rules are concerned, the warning level will drop automatically over a period of time. Again, this is in the hands of the poster, not us and has nothing to do with the opinions expressed, merely the method of delivery.

I trust this clears the matter up, but if not, you know the email address or PM name !
