as we all know always wears his buttonhole discreetly with a pink or, in the case of memorial services, red, carnation, tonight I was horrified to see the gardener Titsmarsh, at the proms, wearing a carnation with the whole stem showing on his lapel, has the world gone mad, somone at the Beeb should correct the poor sod or is he one of these new world poofters??. The stem should be through his left hand buttonhole!

Unfortunately, its very difficult to find a jacket with a proper buttonhole nowadays unless you are fortunate to have the funds to get made-to-measure and stipulate the requirement.

Alex, I have a real good tailor in Singapore, monogrammed shirts and suits for a decent price and to boot he's just downstairs from the Sportsman Bar where all the Jocks hang out, I'll probably be based out of Singers this winter so if you want I can give you his name.
