Little Al's post got me thinking, I believe that the coins new design was an attempt to portray a more updated image, Britannia was thought probably to be outdated/maybe politically incorrect.

Anyone got any alternative idea's what we could have put on these coins to portray Britain today.

Perhaps they could have put the stars and stripes,or european flag on them, maybe ban them altogether and use the Euro!  :020:

Slightly off topic but one international currency throughout the world would simplify business and tourism enormously.  This can be seen in mainland Europe already with the Euro.

We could have portrayed Chavs, speed cameras, incompetant governments, 24 hour drinking that doesnt really happen (do you know where to go 24 hours solid?)
