  1. Ritchie needs to grow some balls and drop some of the guys that haven't performed all season. Tansey, Vigurs and Fon Williams should all be out for Saturday. None of them have been good enough. Saturday is a massive game, if we don't get a win then I think that is the time for change. Let's hope this result is the kick up the backside we need.

  2. And if it happens, there's no reason why he couldn't meet up with the team bus at Bothwell Services and go straight into the squad for tonight!

  3. Just putting it out there. Would it work if TB came back as a DoF role to mentor Richie? Both guys have a great relationship or they did anyway

  4. We need to get behind the boys on Saturday, they need all the help they can get!

  5. Not just the result but another utterly woeful performance. Board need to take a long hard look at themselves for the club being in such a mess 18 months after winning the cup, 3rd in the league and in Europe. The way they handled the Yogi situation was pathetic. Dundee Utd wanted him, we turn that down and the compensation. Then we pay the guy to leave 6 months later. Yogi not faultless but he wouldn't have us in the shambles we're in now. Great player and servant, I do feel sorry for him. But Richie, you might just have to step aside.

  6. Billy..great piece of work by the club. Just need to get the Shinnie's, Christie, Marley, Miles and Johnny back now Welcome back Billy.

  7. Foran clearly cannot get the best out of these players, so we either have to replace the players or replace the manager.

  8. It has been a while since I have posted but enough is enough! I was very happy to see we had sign Billy back on loan and was really hoping for an impact tonight. Losing 3-0 to Hamilton is a disgrace. The players need to take a long hard look at themselves because we are staring relegation in the face. Something needs to change and NOW!!!!

  10. Isnt football the most frustrating sport ever. So many ups and downs its unreal but even with all the gloom from tonight we will be there on Saturday hoping against hope for a win and the possibility of a miraculous end to the season. no wonder they say football fans are fickle

  11. if the players were good enough we wouldn't be bottom. the squad is the core which stayed in league for years, minus, shinnie, shinnie, Watkins, hayes, rooney, McKay( until tonight) etc.etc, some are getting to the end of their careers or have been here too long and it's their time to move on. we haven't signed a player of the calibre of the players above, or half as good, since butcher left. hughes reaped the rewards when he took over and the next year signed inferior players, duds some would say. he then orchestrated his own departure and legged it with this years player budget leaving foran to shop in the bargain basement getting players who are not good enough to play in the spfl. I watched a left winger with pace come on Saturday, pass the right back on two occasions, headed for the bye line and put in two crosses. cross one into the goalkeepers hands and cross two over everyone's head and out for a throw in on the other side of the pitch. he wasn't much better any other time I have seen either cant see how that can be forans fault it's just the calibre of player we have now. if/when we go down at least there will be no rangers, hearts, hibs or maybe Dundee untied, teams who could spend big to get out of the championship. could come straight back up again

  14. Sounds like we gave up on this game after going down 1-0! I'm speechless can't see where we go from here! FFS Hamilton will now have real belief that they will not finish bottom! I like Foran as a person however talking a good game no longer gives me any belief that we will stay up! A win on Sat is now a must just to give the boys some confidence! I'll refrain from the Foran witch hunt for now!............

  15. I wonder if someone other than Brian Rice to help RF might be the answer. From Latapy leaving till now it's not been the same

  16. We all know this group of players are capable of so much more than they've shown in the last 4 months. The problem is obviously the management. Foran should do the decent thing and resign. There's no way the club can afford to sack him when he's on a four year contract !

  18. Game's a bogey. Richie not learning from his mistakes and still making poor selections with no balance. No advantage in getting new strikers in if the midfield has no width and no pace. There's a reason his predecessors played 2 holding midfielders: we have players who suit that role. We also have decent wide players, but they are on the bench. It might be too late already..
    2 points
  19. The Old Boys Club ? And look at the potential width and pace on the bench. Richie has to stop the "playing the old guard" nonsense, dump Vigurs and Tansey, play Draper and Polworth centrally and gamble on the yoof out wide. Presume Doran and the Walrus have the virus ?

  20. The Billy of old is just what we need but I wonder if that is the Billy we will get. His recent scoring (or not scoring) record is clearly a worry but it is important to remember that Richie played in the same side as Billy and will know what makes him tick. Billy himself will know that unless he can find his goal scoring touch here then his career is as good as over. I'm sure he will enjoy resuming his place in the side with Doran and that should help both of them get back to their best. We've missed having a player in the side who has a knack of just nipping in front of defenders or swivelling on a half chance. It's not as though we haven't been getting the ball into dangerous areas, it is just that we haven't been seizing the opportunities which arise. I've a good feeling about this but we shouldn't expect miracles. He'll need time to settle back in and get his confidence back.

  22. At first glance I thought the return of Billy Mckay was just wishful thinking on our part. But then I looked at his stats in League One this season - 25 games, comprising 20 starts and 1,665 minutes on the pitch. Goal tally - zilch. He's hardly hot property any more, and it appears that the only place he can score is in Scotland so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if all parties agreed that the best way to resurrect his career and resurrect our fortunes was to give this a try and see if it all clicks again.

  23. MPs are not elected to represent the positions of their Parties on every individual manifesto promise, they are elected to represent the positions of their constituencies. It is a very rare occasion that the members of a constituency have the opportunity, en masse, to tell their MP what their vote should be. As a result, MPs are honour (if they know what that means) bound to vote in response to the wishes of their constituents. That will mean that Article 50 should be triggered, but it will also mean that those MPs whose constituencies did not vote for Brexit should ignore Party Whips and vote against that triggering. Party whipping has no place in a vote on a referendum result (It has no place in politics at all, imo, but certainly not in a case like this.) The Scottish representatives in the House of Lords attempted in 1713 to extricate Scotland from the Union, and despite there being, as there is now, a large difference in relative numbers, they lost that attempt by only 4 votes. I suspect, given the chance, if English MPs voted as their constituents wished....there would no barrier put up to Scottish Independence. However, if a second independence referendum resulted in a majority for independence, and English or any other MPs chose to ignore that result...then there is a case for declaring UDI. And the difference would be, as you know very well that the Brexit referendum was a UK one, an independence referendum would be limited to Scotland. Did all the EU representatives in the EU parliament get a vote on whether we were to be allowed to leave the EU........because that is the comparison to be made?

  24. ****** it now. Even if you ignore the rumors coming from Inverness that Foran has lost the dressing room to the extent that players do not want to turn up to training, there was no greater proof of it than tonight. How can he continue to play Vigurs and Polworth out wide? He may think the players have bottled it, in my opinion he is the one that has bottled it. Hard to have any respect for him when he claims before Partick that it is a must win....until of course we scrape a lucky (was not at game, going by what fans have said) draw and it suddenly becomes a great point. Our relegation is as inevitable as Butcher's Hibs - we are a sinking ship. Cannot take one positive out of tonight.

  26. We have to act NOW. Foran has to go TOMORROW and Rice with him. I really doubted his managerial potential but wanted him to succeed as he is a legend on the pitch. I cant stop myself from recalling how I felt after the 5-1 drubbing at Tynecastle. We are NOT the far adrift. We do have (on paper) a squad capable of survival. But it is crystal clear that Richie has lost the dressing room and the club base. Can only see Charlie Christie being capable and available at such short notice.

  27. Bring back Russell Latapy as manager and Foran can be his number 2. Punt Rice. All was rosey when we had Russell. It's when he left things started to slide. He's been after a managers role I'm sure. It's a surprise that he wasn't first pick to replace Yogi in the first place. I really want Richie to turn it around though. He's put himself through the wars so often for the team. They need to start doing the same for him. Players like Warren, Meekings, Draper, Tansey and Mckay, those who know him well, need to lead by example. I'd hate to see him leave under a cloud.

  28. Saturday's most certainly a must win, but we've been saying that about the last few games. If we perform the same as we have the last two games on the weekend then we definitely need to make a serious change somewhere, be it with Richie or Brain. Really mind boggling that players like Tansey and Draper, who have been magnificent for the club in the last few years, have been so below par. Same goes for Warren and Meekings, who were thought of as one of the best CB pairings in the league. We have leaders in the dressing room, like Draper and Warren, who really need to rally the troops, or relegation most certainly beckons.

  30. It's clear from that interview that he has lost elements of the dressing room. It will be interesting to see who he drops on Saturday.

  31. I heard that the dressing room was flat about 4 weeks ago too. I'd play myself if I was in Ritchie's shoes, what has he to lose? He was a great leader on the park and this could give us the boost we need. F***ing boss them like the leader he was!!!! None of this restrained/reformed nonesense which he has developed. GET INTO THEM!!

  32. Richie won't be fired by board they did the cheap option and can't afford the payoff sorry but season is over and we are going down. Get used to that fact foran is clueless and he could have killed the club he loves
    1 point
  33. I think we've been on the slide since Rice came in to replace Latapy. Richie was an inexperienced choice for manager and should have been either a coach or assistant to learn his trade. I've been told that he lost the dressing room weeks ago and some of the players want to leave. Apparently Fisher is one in that category. Fail to win on Saturday and I fear we will say bye bye to the Premier League for many seasons to come.

  34. I can't think of one Inverness player who has played to the best of his abilities. They have been tepid and they've been dominated by Hamilton. Craig Paterson This sums things up... this is a management issue.

  39. Without wanting to **** on this party, the style and way we play has to change otherwise no matter how good our striker is they won't get chances created to score. We played long balls to Domb which never worked, even on Sat with Anier that tactic remained - for Billy to succeed we need Doran, Polly, King, Tansey with our wing backs getting forward to support more and creating opportunities.

  40. I listened to a good interview with Ruud Gillit a few months back and he made a good point about playing with one up-front. It can work, but he's got to have pace. Billy Mckay could do it because he had the skill, the pace and the work rate to hold up the ball, pressure the opposition backline and brings others into the game, as could Rooney and Storey and to a lesser extent Ofere. The problem with us is Doumbouya (who always seems to start no-matter what) is pretty awkward in possession, doesn't seem interested in the ball unless it's played right to him and is perhaps one of the slowest players we've had in years. Boden has been a hideous signing while Anier looks more like a number 10 and Ebbe is an unknown quantity. That then leaves Fisher. He has the work rate and a fair amount of pace and from what I've seen looks like he could be a very good striker if he's given a run of games. To my mind, when he's fit he should always start especially if we stick with the one up-front philosophy.

  45. this is the wrong way round!!!! the club should be doing what it can to facilitate people to attend the match, i.e argue for a sensible KO time, keep the ticket cost down to allow us to pay for travel, etc. i appreicate that the club arent going to make much out of this venture, but it appears to be arse for tit imo

  46. All 59 MPs elected in Scotland were elected on the basis of manifestos promoting continued membership of the EU. All 59 represent constituencies where the majority voted, usually very clearly, to remain in the EU in the recent consultative referendum.. It appears that only one is prepared to disregard the will of the people who elected them.

Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
