Just noticed, snorbens post was the 999th reply so this is the 1000th.

Findhorn by any chance?

I knew the bridge was one of Wade's but would not have got it.  Snorbens one looks more like Caithness or is Robert nearer?

We could argue about whether it is on the mainland

I think that's a cryptic clue will need to get my thinking cap on later as I have a busy day 😊 Someone might beat me to it!

That's it, weeman!   Next to Skara Brae.   We went round it when we were last in Orkney - well worth it if you find old mansion houses interesting.

The day that the Google Maps car went round there, the gates on the approach roads to both Skara Brae and Skaill House were shut.  So if you're "driving around" you can see Skaill House in the distance, but you probably wouldn't match it to my picture.   However, if you click on Skaill House on the actual Google map, you will see lots of pictures of it.

That was a tricky one but I was on the right track well done to weeman

Here is another old one that should be easy enough.

Well done again, weeman!  You have it exactly - east side of the river, on the right as you cross the bridge going eastwards.

I believe it's called Riverbank Terrace now, but when number 5 was my Mum's childhood home it was just Riverbank.

I would have struggled with that one!

Here is another old village shop.
