Oh, and by the way, IBM, the nomenclature in all the best  car reports, papers and dealerships was  to denote that model as the Vanden Plas Princess 4-litre -R.      Obviously to appeal to the more pukka amongst us in these days. The "R"   in this case must have referred to the eengine which appears to also indicate that perhaps there was another model which had a different make of engine--although I doubt it somehow since this would have affected it's "pukka-ism" and it's sale price too.?

Easy one tonight, Morris Minor Estate & Sunbeam Talbot which like many cars had a very small boot which had the hinges at the bottom so it could be left open to carry excess luggage.  Walkers shop was away before my time!

Yes, "Walker's Emporium" it used to be called by old Invernessians, but before my time as well.

Thought they were ex army Bedford S type at first but noticed the straight axel on the front not four wheel drive.  A Ross must have bought new lorries away back then, these would be the late 50's and would have had the straight 6 cylinder petrol engine which would return 4-6 mpg.

Yes , yeah, yeah, let's forget the Viva name  but they sure look like the chromium flutes that used to be on the sides of the bonnet of my Dad's car.

All the old ones had lots of chrome to polish, people must have had more time in them days, now its all plastic!  IHE might give us the answers of the ones I missed :lol:

IBM I am as fairly certain as I can get away with that it was a Vauxhall though. Sloping back also.

I think I am with you now Scarlet the backend on the right is a Vauxhall Cresta PA from the late 50's
