When Butcher was here, he always wanted fixtures rearranged at the earliest possible opportunity. Building/maintaining momentum was important and that couldn't happen if you weren't playing games.

I can see why we wouldn't want a midweek game before the final but we're playing against a semi-professional club and should be able to cope.

I agree. My statement was more in relation to us wanting to push every replay to as late in the season as possible. Such a policy was always a disaster waiting to happen.
