Well we must be ****'s ourselves then since we nicked them from County!

Let's not let this thread turn into a "Brew forced Rankin out" arguement, as we've been through that many times this year already  :rolleyes02:

We cld b classed as **** but we paid the money that county wanted for rankin and cowie but the money which we got for rankin and what we may get from cowie wouldnt b market value as they think they r bigger clubs and can steal our players on a cheap

the race for Don Cowie

What race ? He is under contract for another year and both him (comments in papers last week) and the club (comments in papers today) want him to extend that.

Hibs are a much bigger club than ICT. I seriously hope you aren't trying to suggest otherwise?

Anyway, Hibs have been after Chipper for months.

*RiG Exclusive*  :004:

Yes yes very good.

Nothing at all do with seeing Donald Park and John Rankin at Hibs and putting 2 and 2 togethor :004:

Don wants to stay at ICT.........Grazza wants to tie him up with an extension to his existing contract. So unless a big offer comes in from Hibs or anyone else then I think he'll be with us for a few years to come. Don doesn't want to move away from his home.

If the club go about it's business correctly then Don Cowie will be contracted to ICT for another three seasons come the end of summer. Then, if Hibs, or indeed anyone else, want him they will have to pay a vry substantial fee well in excess of what Rankin went for.

Like earlier in the thread, I ask again ... what "race" ? He wants to stay, the club want him to stay and all we need to do is make sure we get the finger out and extend his contract sooner rather than later ........

Its silly season in the papers and this has had way more column inches than it merited !

Wouldn't say that just yet RiG. He doesn't want to commit just now. Maybe wants to wait and see how the seasons going to pan out. Could there be a management change? Will he start every game? Will the team get of the blocks running? etc. etc.

He's an ambitious guy Alex, he won't be at ICT for years I don't think. If he has a good start and teams like Aberdeen and Hibs are still interested in taking him on he will be away. He wants to take the next step up in his career. Maybe not right this minute but certainly in the next year or so. We should enjoy seeing him in an ICT top while we can  :003:
