Not happy with this at all. I appreciate we need to cut costs but we seem to slitting our own throat at times and are losing a lot of experience from the side as well.

Warren definitely struggled for parts of last season but he was also a mainstay in the side when it went on that great run of form. To suddenly cast him out now instead of trying to restructure his deal is incredibly short sighted.

Very disappointing. The feel good factor that had been developing has been considerably diluted with this news that the club still has not communicated. So, we can apparently afford to appoint a chief executive officer presumably on a salary commensurate with such a senior position  but can't afford to retain the services of our club captain who's ability and experience could be the difference between seriously challenging for promotion or not in what will be a vital season ahead. What a very odd set of priorities.

Shearer, Raven, OFW, Warren,  - harsh decisions being made on coaching/players side.

I guess that’s the price of a Chief Exec.

Jobs for the boys (and girls) rears it’s head before the club take two steps forward and one step back. Again. So tedious and so frustrating.

If this is true about Garry Warren, I think it is a very shoddy way to treat our club captain and a player who has given his all for the club in his time here. I agree that all plàyers have a shelf life,  and time catches up with us all, but there are far more professional and dignified ways to inform the supporters about these matters than a tweet from a journalist,  especially a player of Garrys reputation with the fans. This isn't just some player who turned up last season and didn't make the grade, like Seedorf, this is a player who has been at the heart of everything good we have done over several seasons. We are not blessed with an abundance of central defenders, so would it not be sensible to keep him as a squad player?

I also hear that Partick Thistle have released 14 players including Danny Devine and placed Miles Story on the transfer list, possibly another two players for the ICT tribute team that play out of Dingwall!

Source was Robbo so no reason to think not true sadly

I'm sure the club will soften the blow to Gary by getting an under 8s tournament trophy named after him.

Which will never be organised.

Two steps forward and one step back would at least be progress...but we appear to be going with one step forward and two steps back.

Warren leaving will mean that Tremarco is the only player over 30 in the side. We have a very, very young team. Average age is 23.

Tremarco 32
Ridgers 27
Doran 27
Trafford 26
Mckay 25
Chalmers 24
Austin 24
Donaldson 23
Polworth 23
Oakley 22
Calder 22
Beith 22
Bell 21
Walsh 21
Rooney 21
Elbouzedi 20
Mackay 17

Really hoping the club show a bit of ambition and push the boat out to get the legend that is miles storey back would add a cutting edge up front specially since Austin good as he is is apparently made of balsa wood! All the best to big Warren a tremendous player over the years!

For goodness sake, be realistic. Patrick, who are likely to have a bigger budget than us, can't afford to keep Storey and we apparently can't afford to keep the higher paid players we already have.

If there is any spare cash at all surely we should prioritise keeping Warren rather than coveting a player who did well for us but has done little of note since.

'Push the boat out', why? Not a sensible move at all.

Alan - do you spend more each week than you earn?

Don't forget Draper - his exit wasn't exactly a sweet parting either

Some people seem to be having their cake and eating it.

1) Lament the club for being a 'shambles off the park', then complain when a CEO with business acumen is appointed.

2) Claim the clubs finances are 'perilous', invoking the possibility of administration, then lamenting the manager for shipping out our highest earning players.

Does anyone know whether or not Warren was offered a non-playing position ?  If so did he turn it down.

Should he have turned down a reasonable offer even though he liked living in the highlands but figured he was worth more money.?Just asking ......?

Personally, I'd rather have Nathan Austin over Storey..which, luckily, we do!

I'm more interested in Gareth Bale saying he may move for regular 1st team football....he might just about cut it as a replacement for Vigurs....?

A more sensible move going for it this season when wer only 1 or 2 players away from being really good gotta gamble sometimes! Only get more and more skint the longer we languish in the championship! Besides how are we so skint this new board did they come in without 2 pennies to run together hardly think storey will be on a ransom

Even if we could afford him, which we can't, just what has Miles Storey done since he left us to justify us breaking our wage structure for ?

If we can't afford him then he's over-priced.  He scored a few with us but he's done nothing either before or since.  Apart from his spell with us his career record is 12 goals from 124 appearances.  Just 2 goals from 33 appearances with Partick.  It may be  he would be keen to return in the hope of re-igniting his form, but if he came here it would need to be on our terms and not his.
