Highland Petrol Stations

I am seeking some local info' here. I am trying to compile a list of available fuel stations in the Highlands and Islands. I am especially interested in the following area's.

Skye

Mull

West Coast from Kyle to Durness

Far North from Tongue to Thurso / John O'Groats

East Coast Wick to Dungwall

I would be greatful for any info on opening times especially Saturday's and Sunday's but I'd imagine most would be daytime hours such as 0700-1900 or the like.

I know I could search the likes of Google / Yellow Pages / but these are not always accurate or up to date.

Think with most petrol staions in these rural areas it's a case of phoneing and asking "what time do you open"? the usual answer is "what time can you get here"? :mellow:

No, its not, honest.

There's a group of lads wanting to do a coastal and islands sponsored motorcycle trip. Motorbikes do not have a large fuel tank range and I understand fuel can be scarce in certain parts. A m'bike has a range of 150-220 miles and stashing a can on the back isn't so easy especially on sports bikes.

Looking at the map on here there appears to be no shortage of petrol stations - but as you say opening times can sometimes be an issue - never found it be an issue though but then I was always in a car not on a bike....

I'm no expert but are there not safety/legal issues about carrying a petrol can, even a plastic one on the back of a bike?

If there are Gordy I've not heard about them and I've been motorcycling for 30+ years.
