Just want to say a big thank-u to MFR for their match coverage yesterday.  Excellent commentary, and not having to listen to OAM on Saturdays will do my blood pressure a world of good this season... :clapoverhead:

I thought the commentary was first class, much better than many experienced codgers.

Agree with the above. Indeed he's about to age considerably over the next wee while. Bring back Mikey Noble though, that Ian McCall was murder.

great coverage by auldyboy but was it just me but I only managed to access it by getting the link that had been posted on here, I didn't seem to be able to find it on mfr site, on their mfr2 page it was a music show onall afternoon, couldn't  find any link or mention of it at all

I eventually got there on the mfr2 page but they could maybe do with having a linky banner or similar on page. Thought it was just me ;-)

We will have the link on the matchday thread from now on ...... assuming the URL does not change and they will cover all games (including midweek evening games like tomorrow???)

My understanding is it is away games they covered. So if midweek it would be Partick v County.

That's correct....as I pointed out elsewhere, there will be commentary on the "Home" Bauer station for the Away team.....so ICTFC v Dundee should be on Radio Tay (although obviously will be more Dundee bias).

Auldyboy and Maurice excellent combination beats anything the beeb can come up with imho would like to hear more of them as a unit in the future.

Full marks to Auldyboy and Maurice, excellent, they complimented eachother and made the commentary a joy to listen to. I hope we will hear more from this combination in the future, better than anything the Beeb is throwing at us!!!!!!!

I was ill yesterday and unable to go to Motherwell (it has to be bad for me to miss any ICT game) and really enjoyed the commentary on MFR2.   Both Auldy and Mo did a great job.   Made me feel much better! even though sad to have missed a great game, and great win.

On the iphone there is an app called wunder radio and you get the MFR2 streams on there. Very useful!

I use "tune in radio" on my pc and phone which is also excellent.

Have to agree. very good (and professional) commentary on MFR yesterday and way better than most weeks on Sportsound/OAM. I have listened to the MFR commentary in past seasons and it sounded 'basic' so its also up a few notches from their own fare in the past.

Full marks to Auldyboy and to his sidekick ... think I will be doing this one instead of Sportsound when ICT are on and just switching to Sportsound for the after match stuff from other games or when MFR are covering the shadows.

How did Malpas come across?

From what I'm hearing, he was a good co-commentator. Obviously, Maurice is ideally placed to provide an analysis on Well v ICT, having been assistant at both clubs. Was there any hint of a 'fondness' towards Inverness or was he impartial?

Terry was always the mouth-piece when they were here - and for that (probably wrong) reason,  always saw Malpas as quiet and unspoken!

I started listening the coverage wanting Malpas to be a bit of a tw@t so I could continue to dislike him for deserting us ...... but actually he came across well and was obviously knowledgeable about the players. Didn't seem biased one way or the other but if he was it was probably slightly more pro-ICT than Motherwell. He also spoke in fairly warm terms about our players, especially the younger lads now breaking through.
