For many years the geographical isolation of the Highlands was seen by central belters as a reason not to allow a team into the league. 14 years on, what travel difficulties visiting teams have had? Not much, from what I can remember.

- Gretna spent 6 hours on the bus due to snow.

- Clydebank's bus heater wasn't working, and this apparently had an adverse effect on their performance. (would it have been Ian McCall who came out with that one?)

- Celtic or Rangers probably suffered a wee bit of turbulence here and there.

- St Mirren supporters' bus went home without the fans.  :015:

Any others?

Tam Hendrie's Alloa had to go home one midweek by Fort William as the A9 was closed  :015: :015: :015: :015:

Not a club bus but Hugh Dallas used the A9 to test the speed of his car after refereeing an ICT game and fell foul of Mr Plod.

For those not near the tunnel today Dougie McDonald signalled no extra time in the first half but with 3 1/2 minutes over already the fourth official had to shout to him to check his watch. He quickly blew for half time. So maybe refereeing at altitude affects a referee more than team buses.

Rangers and Celtic do not generally take coaches - they fly. Aberdeen cycle of course to save money. Calderwood on the back of the tandem powered by Langfield.

Who was it that forgot their strips and had to play in our away strips? Would never have happened if we were in the central belt...

?at altitude?

I?ll give you some latitude with that statement given the high level route that is the A9.

Another one to add to this : Gretna had to eat cold lasagne on the journey up yesterday, because the microwave on their bus wasn't working. They were presumably too poor to stop at the Ballinluig Motorgrill.
