It's been the same as long as Brew has been here...

Barry Wilson........we only ever look passionate and threatening when he is on....yes he is not as fast as he was but he can play for a lot longer than 10 minutes!!

Regardeless of how we are doing, win or lose, you know Brews Subs policy...Wilson and a striker on between 75 and 80 minutes. Tactical genius.

Fraser and his defence don't talk to each other and panic every time the box gets packed. Can't we work on this?

(I thought Bobby Mann was immense against the Liverpool schoolboys - at last somebody marshalling the defence who were, while Mann was on, first team regulars and who were listening to his every word - people were saying 'get him to lose a couple of stine and come back' I say come back now; if you can read the game like him you don't need to move that far)

Tokely IS a donkey...constantly out of position. Procter is far better. The second goal was atypical only in the fact that after he cocked up he didn't give a penalty away as damage limitation!

Macguire...always pants, always plays.

Long Ball we lose, on the deck we win.... how many times!!

Once good players are getting worse, Cowie, Imrie, Rankin before he left, and even Vigurs (the new boy wonder) had a mare yesterday.

Where is the passion we used to have? All I see now is recriminations .

Finally, well done Blackie, has grown up this season and none of the above applies to him.

I think generally we are just not a very 'clever' side. Tactically, managerially and individually.

Hamilton were a good side....St Mirren were rubbish...and they beat us!

I agree MacB...ST Mirren were rubbish and there for the taking...we should have buried those 2 chances after the interval, but no.

The young players did well and Rooney has got something, but i think it was the elder players who let us down..Tokley played like a donkey on Sat...what happened to the player who played against Falkirk and leaving it late to bring on Imrie & Wilson was just stupid..

Im not a boo boy, there's plenty of them in the North Stand already, but to quote Mr Wullie Dodds we "should be beating teams like this"

What has Vigurs done to warrant this stream of abuse? I thought he was by far one of our most creative players on Saturday. Look how many chances came from his passes or through balls! Well done Ian - keep it up! :rotflmao:

But I do agree with you on a fair few of those things. Namely the long ball issue. I think we might see Munro back next week to help marshall the defence.

I'm not in any hurry to see Munro back to be honest. As I said on the matchday thread I thought Duff and McGuire did well in the first 45 minutes. Duff was there to mark Mehmet out of the game and he did it beautiful, McGuire thrived in a setup where he wasn't having to constantly watch for Munro to call the line for the offside trap (which we screw up more often than not).

It's one thing to have a "system" that you want to play, but that system has to take account of player strengths and weaknesses, and we looked a lot stronger with a setup which involved man marking at the back than one where we basically let strikers wander about and cut in behind at will because we're more interested in pushing the line out to win the offside decision and then flapping around with hands in the air when it's not given instead of chasing the opposition down.

Brewster needs to start playing a system that suits the players not players that suit his system. It's almost as if he's trying to be too clever at times, but that's just causing confusion and frustration.

You have summed up exactly how i feel and most of the guys that sit next to me.

Also why does Fraser not come of his line. Lose far too many goals as a result. Anything is six yard box should be a keepers ball.

"Duff was there to mark Mehmet out of the game and he did it beautiful"

He did it that well, that Mehmet just jogged past him to score the equaliser! Shocking bit of marking! Thats us lost two home games now cause of Duffs mistakes(I'm not saying it's just him, but it just seems to be him that is making the crucial mistakes).

Read my post in full and you'll see that I was talking about the first 45 minutes. When the team came out in the second half Duff didn't seem to have been charged with continuing the man-marking roll...who made that decision, player or manager? I don't know, but having seen Duff marking Mehmet religiously for the entire first half I can't see him taking it upon himself at half time to do something different when he came out for the second.

Can he not see...

He needs men in where he has boys..

Munro will add strength and backbone to the defense and Esson will provide the maturity, not only in his goalkeeping but he will command the defense in front of him and will also build up the attack from his distribution of the ball. The confidence that can flow through a team if they are aware that the back is solid, allows the midfield to concentrate more on attack, instead of looking over their shoulder in case they are required to carry out defensive duties.

If Brew does not see that, then I don't know what he is looking for.

Perhaps Munro is not yet fit, perhaps Fraser has not had the mare of a game that warrants a move onto the subs bench but, I would contend, the end result of giving away goals does require addressing and quickly.
