Another Landmark Goal

Grant Munro's historic goal on saturday wasn't the only "milestone" goal scored on saturday by a player with strong ICT connections.

Stuart Golabek scored Ross County's 900th goal since entering the SFL. Maybe not quite as significant as scoring ICT's first ever goal in the SPL but one for his scap book nevertheless.

Give them another two or three season's and County fans too will be celebrating their team's 1000th. I wonder which division they'll be in at the time ?

I too would like to see County challenging at the top of the First Division by then  but as we know from our own experience, trying to sustain full time football outside the SPL is not easy and County's task is probaably not helped by the fact that ICT are now attracting the bulk of commercial backing in the inner Moray Firth area due to our semi established SPL status.

Yes, I actually saw Golabek's goal (wonderfully worked it was from the left too) but nobody realised it was County's 900th. It was only when I was looking in the Jailender site that I saw a reference to it.... along with a personal plea for me to give it a mention, which I was delighted to do in this morning's Cup preview.

PS - it actually came 5 minutes BEFORE Grant Munro's!  :003:

Presumably the plea was from an ICT fan wanting to highlight the fact that we have scored 100 more goals than County, despite them being in easier divisions than us for almost half the seasons since admission to the league?
