This Forum Isn't Dull

This forum really is dull isn't it.

Couldn't agree more

(Hi Specky!)

This was posted in another thread and I just wanted to respond to it in a bit of depth without taking the aforementioned thread off topic.

I think that this forum is anything but dull, it is primarily a football forum but we have a variety of topics here worth discussing in it's many sub forums. I have been a forum whore for a few years now and there has only been one other forum (now shut down for reasons I am not going to discuss) which I have found to come close to the variety of discussions and membership. I do think that at times the moderation on here is a little too harsh but having been a mod elsewhere I understand that it is a near impossible job to keep all members happy and the communication after disputes is getting a lot better here (you just need to be a little more consistent guys :rotflmao: ).

There are very few football forums which are as active as this, especially ones which specialise in one team. We have excellent opportunities to discuss a wide variation of subjects and for the most part the discussions are civil. There is a high level of humour and people of all levels of intellect can converse without fear of ridicule.

In short this forum is only as dull as you let it be.

EDIT- After checking out the quotes I see that Renegade never posted that at all but it was an attempt by the Legendry WiG to be humorous, so apologies to Renegade but I will not delete the thread as I think it is still relevent.

Nothing wrong with this Forum that a few new good contributing members would not fix.

F :rotflmao: resh blood required.

Aty least as the man says there is a good deal less snotty remarks and an increase in the humourrecentl;y. thank goodness.

As for Robbo-- kinda think his coming on here was a little bit tacky and not quite top-class -Manager-type -stuff.

But that is just mho. :thumb04:

I wouldn't say that this forum was boring in the slightest. If it were it wouldn't have had over 160,000 posts in it. One thing I do find though, which is not dull, though rather boring are these bizarre posters who come on either to fight or to make a pig of themselves. Their username often displays a players name who they usually have an unhealthy obsession over and won't hear a bad word said about. They often display their views as being FACT or that any contrary view is just plain wrong. They often see themselves in a somewhat good vs evil contest. They also come out with somewhat bizarre rants at times either through out and out nastyness and at other times, when an issue is mainly agreed and they are of a contrary point, they lable the whole forum as "dull" or "boring". I for find them both boring and somewhat sad. We all know who I'm talking about here an can someone please put them out of their misery.

I think the Brewster debate along with the fact that passionate fans were upset and worried at the teams performances along with the clubs attitude towards the support saw a lot of raised temperatures on these boards. This resulted in a few posters making phalluses of themselves and not showing themselves in a good light when their opinion was not seen as gospel.

Overall I put it down to the support being passionate and having the clubs best interests at heart and apart from Ralph Milne (and possibly one or two others) there isn't really anybody who posts on here who's I have no time for.

Since brewsters removal this forum has become a much nicer place to be invloved with again.

In saying that the behaviour of a regular poster on here at the Hamilton game has caused me to loose all respect and time I had for that person beforehand. Remember - we all love ICT and want the club to do well but football is a game. The way you treat others is more important.
