That is some horrific goings on in Norway.

Huge death toll on the island of Utoya, 84 confirmed dead at the moment and the same gunman is believed responsible for the massive bomb going off in Oslo town centre. 7 confirmed dead in bombing.

Some frightening stories coming out from the survivors on the island, chilling stuff.

This makes me very sad. I've been to Norway and Oslo a few times and it's a wonderful place with a great atmosphere, so this is a huge shock. Those poor kids on that island didn't deserve this. My thoughts are with all the affected people today.

I think I'm right in saying that Norway has no life sentence. The maximum sentence there is something like 21 years in jail. They also have one of the lowest murder rates on Earth, which just shows how unbelievable these events are.

I went to leave some flowers and sign the condolence book at the Norwegian embassy today. There were already a lot of tributes from Londoners and Norwegians living in London, and it was very moving. Puts all the gripes I have about my life into perspective...
