I know that in recent years, in common with the FA Cup south of the border, there has been a downward trend in crowds for the principal national cup competition but crowds for this years last sixteen have been particularly disappointing.

Despite both halves of the Old Firm featuring, albeit away from home, the total attendances so far wouldn't half fill Parkhead. Bearing in mind the home teams in the outstanding ties, the Ibrox replay apart, that already disappointing average will only go down.

What, if anything, can be done to reverse the trend ?

What, if anything, can be done to reverse the trend ?

It is a disturbing trend - I'd say it is much worse here than south of the border....

Reducing the amount of live TV coverage, and reducing admission prices might help a bit.

clubs should really lower the prices for cup ties no matter who the opposition is. my cousin is a celtic season ticket holder and was expected to pay ?25 to go to rugby park on saturday. that really is disgraceful and it's only kilmarnock who have lost out in the end due to a low celtic turnout.

i think for cup games adults shouldnt be made to pay more than ?15 and kids/oaps/students shouldnt pay more than ?10.
