That second picture was taken moments before the opening of the....

Pictures from behind the scenes show that the hold-up resulted from them having to wait until they'd drunk enough beers to get the materials to construct the Olympic Torch.

I'll leave it up to others to post pictures of their favourite events and moments from the games as the unfold
