New article up on the main site detailing the results of this year's CTO Player of the Year polls. Although we still have a couple of games to go and have not yet counted the votes from the St Mirren match, Ryan is 20 points ahead with only a maximum of 15 points available for the remainder of this season so he is this year's POY: http://caleythistleonline.com/4098-ryan-esson-cto-player-of-the-year

WELL DONE RYAN

Nick Ross, Adam Rooney, Richie Foran and Jonny Hayes made up the next 4 places.

A big thank you to Hislopsoffsideagain for compiling the weekly scores for us. most appreciated.

Completely deserved, he's been phenomenomenomal and is perhaps the only player to have maintained an excellent level of performance throughout the season.

Well, it just shows, that despite all our differences of opinion on here, that the voters (ie. site members) do actually know a good performance when they see it !!! He has been consistent throughout the season and the votes he has received have also been consistent.

In many ways, I think this is an even better achievement than some others who have won it previously .... For the last 10 years, we have compiled the results and it is normal to see a lot of votes coming in for the 'glory' positions. Strikers, Wingers or attacking players tend to get a lot more than defenders or defensive midfielders .... and keepers - up until now - have been largely ignored. Delighted that he has won it.

Well deserved - his level of consistency has been commendable throughout the season. Others have had noticeable dips in form and others have suffered through injury, but Ryan has saved the team on many an occasion and indeed probably has to work harder when the odd cylinder is mis-firing in front of him!

BZ Ryan.

Without a doubt the most consistant player we have had for many years!

Great player and a real gentleman.

We could do with a few more of his stature!

Esson's been in the lead for ages - worth noting that he's been voted Man of the match (ie getting the 5pts) 10 times and picked up at least a point in 21 of the 40 matches we've played up to the end of April. And out of 1377 votes, he's been voted for 573 times, 42% of all the votes cast this season! Now that's consistency.

Worth noting that we now have a full starting XI from our Player of the Year winners - Esson in goal, Golly, Rossco and Bobby at the back, Cowie, Blackie, Robson, Keogh and Jonny Hayes in midfield, and Dargo and Wilson up front. Now that's some team!

Well done Esson, well deserved!

Rooney HAS to stay for another season, he can't go without winning a CTO player of the year surely.

No doubt about it. He has been the most dependable, consistent and regular performer this season. We would not be where we were if it was'nt for Esson and he has proven he can play well under pressure with the quality of Tuffey breathing down his neck.

How did Keogh ever get it ?

You - the site members - voted for him in 2003/04

How did Keogh ever get it ?

Keogh was a fantastic player up until he sustained that injury. He was our for so long and just wasn't the same player when he came back.

Also announced at the stadium that he was the fans player of the year, could be a clean sweep here.

Sure it will! Great for Ryan, shame the manager can't come upstairs and support the boys tonight and see them being presented their awards!
