Post Match Excuses at the ready......

With all the rumour going around that some players may be dropped for disagreeing with Brewster I thought we should perhaps have a wee punt at what reason excuses may be used in the post match interview......

"Top 6 was out of reach and relegation isn't a threat so it was time to give the younger lads a game"

(EH's...Em's...Ahh's...stutters and pauses have been removed to ease reading)

"I was delighted to get a win today. Marius took his 3 goals brilliantly and there was a real collectiveness about the boys today"...

OK, I've taken that too far. Should stop drinking at  the computer....

"We lacked firepower up front" (Interviewer will then fail to point out that he has dropped Wyness and the side keep punting long balls forward that are easily defended)

"We didn't keep possession well enough" (Funny that, with a Duncan and McBain central midfield)

"I thought Russell Duncan was outstanding yet again" (Witnesses will testify to one pass that went in a forward direction that might have come close to hitting a teammate on the backside by accident, but otherwise no-one can recall any other occasions where he has retained possession)

"The fans got on our backs today and that was disappointing" (Despite heavy defeat and a match that could only have been more boring if spectators were forced to watch paint dry at half time)

"I've withdrawn Ian Black's first team place and I'm looking for a reaction" (Explanation for decision to leave out our best midfield player)

Can you tell that I don't fancy our chances tomorrow?

The usual

"I thought we played brilliantly despite losing the four goals, I just dont understand why we lost that game. I blame the crowd, they're just not noisy enough, and when they are its all insults aimed at me, yes thats it, I blame the supporters..."
